Warnings

  • Do Not Use Cooking Spray

  • Washing Instructions

    2. Rinse completely and dry with a soft cloth.

Infomercial

The Gotham Steel infomercial claims that nothing will stick to this pan and everything slides right out of it. During the infomercial parmesan cheese is melted directly in the pan and it just slides right out. The same thing happened when a Smores dip was put in the oven. It was made up of chocolate chips, milk and marshmallows which are placed in the oven and the whole concoction slides right out of the pan. If you need even more convincing about this pan then here it is. Three peppermints are melted in the pan with their plastic wrappers on and they can be wiped right out of the pan - nothing sticks.

How Non-Stick Works

The most popular non-stick cookware surface consists of a thin layer of Teflon, also known as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Recently health concerns have been raised over the use of PTFE, thus most manufactures duplicate it's properties with an alternative fluoropolymer.

Gotham Steel Pans are PFOA and PFOS-free.

Regardless of what combination of materials, metals, or coatings a pan uses; they stop food from sticking to the surface is by preventing bonding at a molecular level. Such bonding naturally occurs under high-heat conditions.

Remember: Any pan will stick, it is the coating applied to the pan which prevents sticking.

Sticks After 9 Uses?

No! It does not stick after 9 uses. Truth be told, there is no magic number of times the pan can be used before losing its non-stick qualities. There have been a number of real customer reviews (as seen below) which state the pan stuck for them on the very first use; while others claim to have used the pan flawlessly for over a month. It's Not a Miracle Pan; you get what you pay for.

How to Season Gotham Steel Pan

It is commonly known that cast Iron pans need to be seasoned.

However, it is also recommended to season non-stick pans as well.

Nonstick coatings wear off with time. Seasoning will significantly help extend the life of nonstick pans!

Seasoning helps to fill in any pits or inconsistencies that have developed in the finish. Often times there exist blemishes which are invisible to the naked eye.

Most non-stick pans come pre-seasoned and ready for use; however, re-seasoning a pan will confirm that the process was conducted properly rather than reliying on the process completed at mass by the factory.

What you'll need to season a non-stick pan:
- Water
- Teaspoon
- Paper towel
- Soap
- Cooking Oil
- Stove Top

Seasoning Instructions

  • Wash

    - Wash the pan using warm water with a mild dish soap. Do not scrub the pan.
Ensure to use a soft, non abrasive cloth.
This will remove any particles or debris that could interfere with the seasoning process.

  • Dry

    - Thoroughly dry the pan with a clean paper towel. Ensure not to just move the water around into smaller areas.
Continually switch for new paper towel until you are able to wipe everywhere on the pan and absorb any water.

  • Heat

    - Place the pan on a stove top. Set the temperature to low for approximately 30 seconds.

  • Remove from Heat

    - Remove the pan from the heat source and turn off the stove top.

  • Add Oil

    - Measure-out one tablespoon of oil and pour it into the cooling / recently heated pan while it is still warm.
    - Cooking or vegetable oil is recommended specifically for non-stick cooking surfaces.
    - Gently spread the oil around the pan to evenly coat the entire surface.

  • Wait

    - Allow the oil to dry for several minutes. The oil will form a thick consistency once it cools down.

  • Repeat

    - Repeating this seasoning process every few months will help to maintain the pan's integrity.

Conclusion

  • Have realistic expectations.
  • Read real customer reviews, not just website reports.
  • Educate yourself on pan care.

With today's technology, most pans which cost between $20-$40 each will equally perform. As Seen on TV pans are no different. Pans such as Gotham Steel, Orgreenic, Red Copper, or Slip Stone all work great if they are properly cared for. Do not expect a $20 pan to be invincible, or last a life time.

Decide what you want:

a. If you want a pan that will last for years purchase the most expensive T-Fal set you can find; but don't expect your eggs to be sliding 'As Seen on TV'. Also even T-Fal pans will quickly start to stick if they are not properly used and cared for.

b. If you want the As Seen on TV effect of a frying pan which appears as slick as ice; treat it properly, educate yourself on pan care and don't expect it to last a life time.

End State:
1. You get what you pay for.
2. The pan is worth the price.
3. Any cookware will fail if not cared for.

I Regret Buying it!

One Big Disappointment

Absolutely nothing slides out, Eggs stick, Steak stick, hamburgers stick, everything sticks and nothing comes out without having to uses SOS to try to clean out the pan. In addition to this the pan has developed numerous scratches and other marks. Your advertising should be removed from TV as it is totally in error and totally misleading. I am sorry things turned out this way as I was really excited when I saw the Add on TV. Now I will have to find something else to replace my "Fabulous" Gotham Pan.

I Love It So Much!

As a mom with 3 kids who always need something when I'm cooking, I'm so excited for this product! Tried it as soon as I received it and so far it stands up to its claims! I fried eggs with no oil, couldn't find my spatula to flip them (the kids had used it) and they ended up burning a little in the bottom. Found the spatula and they lifted off the pan like magic! One little area LOOKED stuck on, but one touch with the spatula and it came right off. Generally after I cook with a pan it needs to be soaked and scrubbed. The infomercial said this was dishwasher safe but one swipe with the dishcloth and it was amazingly clean. My only complaint is that they don't have them in other sizes and with accessories (lids, etc). Can't wait to try using it in the oven as well!*

Disappointed Customer

Bottom line, I ordered the $19.99 + s&h "regular size" frying pan like the one in the TV commercial and on the on line commercial and receives a little "omelette frying pan" for a total of $31.98 ( because like an idiot I got the "non existent" extra protectant on it for $5. Forget customer service, it's customer "get rid of them". I had to call my cc company, they got them on the phone and lied, they said they would email me a return fedex label and never did. To return it would cost me shipping back, then they deduct the $6.98 for shipping so I would net back like $15. Live and learn.
This is a scam. Probably made in china crap they buy for $3 a piece.

Pans Suck

Bought all 3 pans and thought they would replace all my old pans so I got rid of them. I wish I had my old pans back. All 3 stick, burn and break the eggs when trying to turn them over. They were a total waste of big money.

Spell check won't help as nothing was misspelled. Perhaps the wrong article and the wrong noun, but everything was spelled correctly. That's the problem with spell check! If you were to write "let's go out tomorrow knight" it will be fine with spell check ( as it was here ) because "knight" was spelled right.

THEY SUCK

Bought two at walmart 3-4 months ago. Seasoned as directed. Used as directed. Washed as directed. Today I have eggs of stuck to the bottom one and the other inside is scratched to which everything sticks. Walmart will not honor the lifetime replacement guarantee which means I have to pay postage to get them back to Gotham Steel plus a handling fee. This is bullshit its only to pay for the replacement unit. I get charged twice for something with a lifetime guarantee. Walmart should be the go between to handle the replacement. My rating as most of the others is minus 1.

Claims Are Unrealistic

Eggs sliding around in the pan as if on air - B.S. I received the pan and learned that the effective cooking area in the 9.5" pan is actually about 6" so enough room to cook an egg.
I washed it and slapped it on my stove. Medium heat and I cracked that XL Eggland's Best right into the Gotham Steel Titanium and Ceramic Non-Stick pan. I waited patiently for the egg to reach turning point; then, I gave the pan a little shake. The egg did not move - it was stuck-on. "It's new" I thought to myself "First egg." So I grabbed spatula - that egg was stuck. I jiggered the egg loose with the spat, and at no time did the egg fly around the pan. It did finally slide enough to fall from the pan to a piece of toast, but the egg was obviously not pretty. I did wipe it out but this pan has not yet demonstrated a non-stick performance as described more than any other ceramic pan - in fact my other ceramics perform better. Disappointing!*

Gotham Pan

Gotham fry pan is not non stick. Everything sticks now after approximately 8 uses. I think it may be because the pan cannot take medium to high heat? If kept at low heat the non stick feature may be retained? Not sure, but as the pan is aluminium based, this is my best guess. Not worth the money and have told many people not to buy based on my experience.

Test of Time

Had it for about a month. Loved it at first. Followed directions to every detail. Always maintnined low to medium heat. Cleaned up easily without scrubbing. Worked as advertised..
Now it doesn't release food as readily as before. For example: Made fried egg over easy today and it had to be scrapped from the pan, tearing it apart. I don't see any defect in the surface and it cleans up to look new, but something has happened to the surface. Not happy any longer.*

Hands down the Best Frying Pan I Have Ever Used

Hands down the best frying pan I have ever used. I have a large variety of pans, stainless, Teflon, cast iron, this one out performs all of them. I can you metal utensils on it without scratching the finish. I don't ave to worry about cancer from the finish like I do with Teflon, I can put it in the oven like a cast iron, but it is super easy to clean. The instructions say to never use spray cooking oil with it, not sure why, but that would be the only down side in my opinion. Although, with nonstick finish is great and I didn't use any butter or oil when I made eggs and the pan just wiped clean.

This product was purchased at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.*

Food Doesn't Easily Slide

I already owned several different types of non-stick pans, from ceramic to T-Fal pans. However, this is my first non-stick pan made of titanium and ceramic. So far, I have used this pan for different types of cooking such as; for eggs, pasta and baking.

First and foremost, the pan's surface and the sides are non-stick. I believe its claim that "everything slides off" is false because the eggs couldn't easily slide off without having manual help from my spatula. Furthermore, with little effort from a damp paper towel, I was able to wipe off the tiny particles leftover from the eggs that were still on the pan. Secondly, the surface is indeed scratch resistant. I have used wooden to metal spoons to stir fry food and there is not one blemish on the surface which is a whole of a lot better than I can say for my T-Fal. Especially important if you are just like me when you want to avoid metal particles getting into contact with food. Thirdly, this non-stick pan requires less maintenance than other non-stick pans I have tried to extend its longevity. The "Care and Cleaning" instructions just require me to wash the pan after use while other non-stick pans I have tried required me to oil the non-stick surface ever so often. Lastly, this pan does not work on my portable induction burner because the underside is not magnetic in any way. Therefore, I use the pan on my electric stove top. Overall, I wouldn't wholeheartedly say this pan is non-stick because food doesn't easily slide around on the surface comparable to using butter/oil but, leftover stuck on food can be removed efficiently during cleaning. But, there are other features that offset the claim since the pan has a very durable surface and is easy to maintain.*

What's with the Negative Reviews?

I am amazed at how many people are giving single star poor ratings on this pan. I suspect that the reason why is failure to read the full directions.

SEASON THE PAN PEOPLE!!! AND ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!

Coat the cooking surface with a thin layer of vegetable oil.....place over medium flame just until you see smoke. ..remove pan...let cool fully , wipe clean and your ready to go to town!! I've used the pan 4 times and food just slides off.

Also...these are aluminum.....they conduct heat quickly, evenly and EFFICIENTLY.....no need to raise the flame to the ceiling!!*

You're saying to season the pan, but the warning says specifically not to use butter or oil as that May ruin the non-stick coating. So, which is it? Oil or not? If I have to season a pan, May as well stay with a good 'ol cast iron pan. They last forever.

I answered the TV caller ad. Spent 1 / 2 hour with an automated? I agreed to too many pans and lids, when it talked about the bonuses, it seamed to no longer be connected to hear on your end. I put in my cr. card 5 times and at the end she said - I get it is that you don''t want to order. Then it hung up. I kept waiting for the charges or the pans. It also asked for my email and I have not found 1. Kerlee Fox.

Gotham Pan Not so Non-stick!

I bought 2 of these pans. They started out great ! I used this pan everyday. I did love it. Then it started to stick now everything sticks. What happened? Don't really know I took care of this pan cause it was my favorite. Dang not now it's like all my other non stick pans. And no I didn't use oils or sprays.

False Advertising

I bought 2 of your products because of your commercials and how easily food slid out of pan and never any stick. This is total bullshit. Honestly the 2 pans I bought don't work as good as teflon. Scrambled eggs stick like crazy and you have to scrub the hell out of the pan after you let it soak for 15 minutes. They perform nothing like the ones showed on TV. They are Junk.

I Love It

I bought a 9.5 pan and the following month bought the large pan with two handles and I love both, so yesterday, I bought the square pan that comes with the steamer plate and basket. Next month I want to get the square pan for grilling. I don't understand why so many people in the states are having problems with theirs. I buy mine from Shawcase. If I had problems with mine, you better believe they would get it back. I'm in Canada.

FALSE ADVERTISING

I bought my pan at a retail store and my first red flag was when one of the first things I see while removing the packaging is an Arbitration Agreement. Everything I have cooked in this pan sticks. Every. Single. Time. I tried to call customer service and they said to cook on low heat. Really? In a pan that advertises it can be used in an oven up to 500 degrees? I never used the pan in the oven and never cooked anything in it on high anyway, so this was not the issue. I am so glad I didn't buy the set of these pans. I see many people have had the same issue with this pan as I have. Huge waste of money!

Not What I Expected

I bought one of the Gotham pans and received it about three weeks later. First, the cost of $19.95 is not correct. I wound up paying almost $40.00 after they add everything to it. Next, when I received it we looked at it. It is a very small pan and cannot cook more than one serving at a time. Watched the commercial again and I am sure they are not using the same size pan in the commercial; this I guess used to make you think you are getting a normal size pan. My granddaughter has larger toy pans.

Love the Pan

I bought the 9 inch pan from Amazon prime and love it! It really does work. I am thinking about buying the 11 inch pan for next Christmas. I want to first make sure this one last that long before I do order the bigger pan after reading all these reviews. But it this pan holds up like it has so far. I am definitely going to order the bigger one for Christmas. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you everyone for your reviews. It really helps my shopping.

A Bad Choice

I bought the 9.5 pan specificity to make pancakes and eggs my standard Sunday breakfast. I make one large pancake in the pan and then fry 2 eggs over easy. With the other pan I was using I would break at least one yoke. The Gotham Pan seemed to be the solution. The first dozen or so times I tried it, it worked well. Now everything I put in the pan even with oil sticks, even the pancakes. I have searched the web and most reviews are bad and the customer service is unresponsive.

After a few uses food stuck and the pan scratched. Never even used metal utensils. Now I feel like I got burned. Thumbs down on this one.

Good but Beware

I bought the Gotham Steel 12" pan. Yes, candy or any sugar product, when burnt, comes right off, but who cooks with candy?
Unfortunately, when cooking with fat or oil, and it burns on the pan, it is much harder to get off than Calphalon ( I have both and compared ). It actually discolors the pan as not all of it comes off.
Here is what you should also know, the pan is made of very thin aluminum. Looks like they were trying to keep the cost down. When the pan is hot, do not put cold water in it as it will buckle immediately!
I do not use the pan any more as it is a pain to clean and does not lay flat on my stove.
I give it a 5 out of 10 in comparison to Calphalon.

Not worth the Money

I bought the pan and paid Seperately for the lid to go with it as they don't come together as a set. I found it quite expensive but, I so believe you get what you pay for. With this being said. I got rooked! I read the care and use instructions so that I didn't screw it up before I got started ( seemed simple enough ). Everything sticks! Easy over eggs are not so easy, they become scrambled after sticking. Other foods seem to bake on and take some hard elbow grease to remove. And the lid! Make sure you are wearing an oven mit before touching the handle. I have never had a lid conduct the heat like this one does. Cooking on the stove should not heat up a lid handle like it does with this one. I had intended on buying the entire set one piece at a time due to the cost but, now I am not buying anymore of this expensive mediocre cookware.

I bought these from another site, and hadn't seen the TV ad, I was just looking for something that was a "safer" non stick. Anyway, got them and have cooked tortillas, meat, and a veggie burger, all with no oil! I don't mind using butter/oil, but it's nice to not have to. They are very sturdy and seem like they will last.*

DON'T WASTE YOU'RE MONEY

I bought three different sizes. I was really hoping they'd be good but they're not. Everything sticks and burns. You can't leave the pan unattended for any length of time. They don't do well with medium or high heat. Only low seams to work and only sporadically.

Dishonest and Liars, Rude

I called Gotham Steel pans to order 2 flying pans. I called 1 / 19 / 2016 at 11:40pm night. I placed the order and the girl kept trying to get me to order more I told her no. She tried to get me to order magazines I told her no. Try to get me to order the extra pans I told her no. Told me I would receive my order in 2-4 weeks. I got off the phone and 10 mins later I looked at the reviews which I should have done before. But, we didn’t. I didn’t feel good about it so I called back and told them I wanted to cancel and a different women said I would have to call customer service in the morning. She said you May want to give it 24 to 48 hrs. Until it’s in the system. I told her no i’ll call in the morning. So I call this morning and got on the computer to see the order status and I also notice that they are sending and charging me for 3 pans. So instead of my charge being $46.93 for 2, it’s $66.92. This is wrong and these people need to be stopped. I talked to one woman and told her I wanted to cancel and she said it already has a label printed and it can’t be cancelled. I told her I want it cancelled and she hung up. I called back and I told the next woman what happened and she said it already shipped. I told her that it’s crap and they are lying. I want it cancelled. I told her they told me it would take 24-48 hrs. To process and I would receive it in 2-4 weeks. Well needless to say she hung up on me too. So I call again and I ask to talk to the customer service manager. Needless to say she was no help and wouldn’t do anything. I told her I will refuse the shipment and I want all my money back and she said once we receive it we will refund it back less the shipping. I told her I want my shipping back too. I will get a charge back. Please be careful ordering stuff on TV or on the computer. I will never again. Amazon will be the only way.

Poor Customer Service

I called today to check the status of my order. This is the second time I have inquired. First time was two weeks ago, and was told it would probably be next week. So checking today was told it was still on back order. I wanted to cancel my order and Carmen the sales associate was rude and dismissive when I cancelled and hung up on me before I could thank her for assisting me. Rudeness was not necessary.

I gave this pan to a friend as a gift. She called me several days later- raving about it!! She said she used it 3 times already and couldn't believe that it was everything they said it would be. Said she used nothing to prep the pan before cooking, (butter, oil, etc), and her eggs just slipped right off when they were done. She thanked me over and over again and said you HAVE to get one! LOL I think she loves it!*

Started with 5 Stars

I got one of these for my girlfriend and liked it so much I got one for myself. I followed the care instructions and use it like on TV -- scramble the eggs in the pan and use non-scratch spatulas. It worked great for awhile but soon started scratching and has some stiction problems. I still like and use the pan, great size and cleans up pretty easy sink or dishwasher, it's just not as tough as they make you believe on TV.

No Warranty, Customer Service Terrible

I had ordered my 7 piece set from an online store. They told me that if I had issues I had to go back to the store for issues, which most stores offer a 30 day return policy. Gothem steel offers a 90 day on their claim but will not help you if you have issues. They lie and will not help you if you purchase it at a retailer. The customer service rep was rude and hung up on me. Mine had a nick on it so it does scratch. Bad company to deal with and bad news if you own their product.

Disappointed in 12 Inch Skillet

I have all 3 skillet sizes and the Dutch oven pans. All work fine except for the 12 inch skillet. It over heats at even the lowest temperatures. I can't use it most of the time because it easily burns the food. Even something as simple as pancakes. Can't return it because I don't recall who I purchased it from. I purchased all pieces individually at different times.

Bad Purchase

I have been quite disappointed with my purchase. First off, the pan is less than half the weight of my other nonstick pans of comparable size indicating a lack of quality. The handle is very thin with a poor "grip feel". Then I washed it out with hot soapy water, dried it thoroughly and fried an egg with no addition of oil. It did not release like they show on TV, in fact I had to use a spatula to get it out. Deceiving advertising. I tried scrambled eggs and they didn't do any better than my other nonstick pans. Had I known about the quality, I would never have made the purchase. The low price should have told me something. And I would certainly return it but for $25, it's not worth my time, effort and expense. And I definitely would not recommend it to any one else.*

Unsatisfied

I have had this pan for a few months now, and use it almost daily. It has become just another pan that I have to coat heavily with oil / butter, and even then, everything ( meat, eggs, bread ) sticks and has to be soaked to remove.
I purchased the 9.5" and 12.5". So far the problems have been with the smaller one only. Knock on wood.

I haven't used any metal utensils, so I can't backup the claim that they don't scar the pan. I'm just too paranoid and I have plenty of silicone/plastic utensils I can use and not worry about. I've taken this in and out of a hot oven and had no issues. The non-stick coating works really well and it's a good size for have a dozen scrambled eggs or two small pieces of fish. It's a lot lighter weight than you'd expect but so far, it seems like a great pan. I was given this product at a discount in exchange for my unbiased review.*

Sticks A Little

I love cooking, and over the last few years, have been actively trying to make healthier meals for my family - with fewer added sugars and fats while still preserving the tasty recipes we love. While I love the idea of a pan that is nonstick without the use of added oils or the use of potentially toxic chemicals, I also remain skeptical when something sounds "too good to be true". I have previously purchased and currently own and use the OrGreenic skillet which likewise advertised complete nonstick without oil but unfortunately after 1 or 2 uses, became necessary to use cooking spray to make anything risky of sticking.

This pan has performed better than the aforementioned OrGreenic, but still not quite to the expectations as illustrated on the commercial. After receiving my pan, I gave it a light wash and allowed it to dry completely. I decided over-easy eggs would be my first endeavor. I started the pan over low-medium heat and after several minutes, cracked my egg into the pan. When it was time to flip the egg, I tried just "swirling" the pan to see what would happen, unfortunately, it did not budge. I gave it a little lift on the edges with a spatula and was pleased at how easily it came loose. I flipped the egg to allow the yolk side to cook for a few seconds. Unfortunately, when I tried to lift the egg to plate it, the yolk stuck to the pan and popped. It took a few more pokes with a spatula (albeit, better than most fry pans) to get the egg off in one piece.

I will give the pan credit that even after the egg popping thus leaving little bits attached to the pan, the residue did wipe off with only a paper towel.

I have used it a few more times, also for eggs (a common breakfast, lunch, or dinner option in our home) and have had similar results. I have found that if you allow the pan to heat up on nearly the lowest heat setting (adding to your total cook time, not ideal for a quick breakfast if you have to head out the door), the sticking is less of a problem.

Overall, I like the pan, but in my experience, it doesn't have quite the magical nonstick qualities I would have hoped.*

Works GREAT!

I love my pan! It works very well. I make cheesy scrambled eggs in it all the time and the cheese doesn't even stick. Very easy to clean. Seasoned it before first use and most of the time I don't need to wash wash it. Only a good wipe out and it's good to go. If I cook soemthing messy I will wash it but that's it. I have had it for 8 months now and you recently just seasoned it again for its 2nd time. And probably won't do it again for another 6 months or so. I don't kno where all the negative reviews are coming from. I just love this product. My mom and sister both have the same opinion as myself. They work wonderfully!

Awesome Pan

I Love this pan! I don't get the reviews that food sticks to the pan but then I always use butter ( butter IS good for you, it will NOT make you fat and it does NOT clog your arteries! ) With that being said, I use mine every day to fry eggs with cheese and a breakfast meat and then just swipe it clean with a paper towel and I very seldom wash my pan with soap and water depending what I make. I have had my pan for over 6 months. There are no scratches or sticky spots at all. I previously had 2 orgreenic pans which started sticking after just a few months use. I had read another review who suggested using a magic eraser type product on the pans which did work very well but I had already purchased my Gotham pan which I fell in love with and is still working beautifully!

I ordered my fry pan Monday and it was on my doorstep Wednesday to my surprise. Sunday morning I made the family egg omelette with fresh veggies and melted cheese. Yes this worked just like the infomercial explained and the clean up was simple and quick. I do need a larger one than the 9 in. Though. How long it holds up will be soon to be determined.

Pan is Great

I ordered my Gotham Steele pan from Amazon. Received it promptly. The pan works as advertised. I made my eggs over easy and they did not stick. The big test was browning of Italian sausage. In my old frying pan, I would have to soak it overnight before scrubbing. This pan came clean quickly with no soaking. The pan works. I usually have to buy a new frying pan every year or so because they scratch and I don't buy cheap ones. We'll see how long this will last but so far so good.

Poor Service

I ordered the 10 piece package on 10 / 2 / 16. In November I was told it was on back order. Called again today to cancel as I found it at another place for $49.00 cheaper and they had the same set on hand and could send out today. I was told, quite conveniently, that it had shipped yesterday and the order could not be canceled. I was told I could refuse the order then I would be credited back the money. Nice!

Best Non-stick Pans Ever!

I ordered these and they arrived promptly! I know that they are a new product so I expected delays but they came in time for Christmas! Started using them right away and they are incredible! Nothing sticks to them and I just wipe them clean with a soapy cloth! Even my husband loves making his pancakes in them and has perfected turning them in the air! I don't know why there was shipping problems but these pans will change your lives! So nice to not have to worry about them scratching with metal utensils!

I'm not a paid reviewer. I'm happy to prove that. I'm just wondering if I got a defective pan because there are so many bad reviews and I love mine! I cook eggs every day. Made seared Ahi tuna last night. No oil in either.
I find that if I have the heat too high or I cook things too long that they do stuck a little, but clean up is really easy.
Honestly, I was going to buy more pieces, but now I'm worried because of all the bad reviews! It's very strange. Steve.

Calling Does Not Help!

I placed an order for the pan and ordered the lid to go with it. That was on Nov. 23,2015. A free omlet maker was to come with it for a charge of shipping & handling. I called twice! No one knows anything! I checked online to www.customerstatus.com and my original order was cancelled ( not by me ) and the free omlet maker was no longer available. They placed a new order under my name for the pan only but I still have not received it nor have I received an email from the company. My total bill would have been $57.66 for the pan, lid and free omlet maker. They have my credit number. Beware customers!

Hey cathy, I think what was wrong with her pan is, she never got the pan. Now how is that for under performance? It is so easy to spot corporate people messing with honest reviews.

Same situation as alice from nj. Ordered 11 / 23. Omelet maker was cancelled when I brought up the order. Not by me. The pan was out of stock. Finally got through to customer service after holding 15 minutes and the woman was rude. Nor did she even offer an apology. It was "i've cancelled your order, do you need anything else? "
Yikes! How do these companies stay in business? Answer. With idiots like us, why not?

Pan is a Scam!

I purchased the 9.5" Gotham Steel pan from bed bath and beyond for $19.99. I followed the directions to rub it with vegetable oil and put in the oven for about 10 mins. If it's non-stick, why do you have to cure it? When I used it for the first time after doing the cure, it worked for 3 times. It hasn't worked since and it does scratch! This pan is a scam!

Advertised Usage

I purchased three pieces of your cookware. Found it okay and easy to clean but non necessarily as advertised. My problem is two of the frying pans developed pit Marks where the finish is damaged. Have not used beaters or metal objects in them. Have had them long enough so not under warranty but I'm really disappointed as I was going to purchase more. Will make this known.

Warranty if Any?

I received my 9.5" pan as a gift from my dad. He bought several from the gotham store. My pan still works fine and it gets used at least 2 meals per day. Everything still slides right off, it still cleans with just a paper towel and I've enjoyed it for several months now. My problem is, I notices some tiny spots that had no coating about the size of pepper flakes. Thought something had stuck, it hadn't. These spots were spots that were flaking off. The spots haven't gotten any bigger. So I called the customer service number. A very polite young man answered, I informed him of what is happening with my pan. First thing he asked was it bought from our website or a store. Not knowing the answer to that at the time. He told me that they only warranty these pans when bought from their website. That if I could prove it was purchased from their website they would replace it. Other than that there was nothing he could do. I offered to send the pan to them at my own expence for a gotham determination. They refused and said I needed a date of sale and last four digits of the card used for confirmation of purchase. I got all the info they needed and they still refused to stand behind their product. I started writing this a month ago, the pan has gotten worse. I only use wooden utensils, no cooking sprays, soapy water and dish rags when it needs to be washed. My dad Decided to try a red copper pan, got it used it wiped it down hung it on the hook with his cast iron pans. He didn't get it on the hook correctly and it fell to the floor. He called red copper to order another pan, they asked him what happened he told them and they said no worries. We will send a new pan, that one shouldn't have bent like that. They also told him to keep or toss the bent pan. In 3 days a new pan was delivered to his door NO questions asked! Sorry gotham!

This Pan Stinks!

I saw the commercial for this Gotham Steel pan and thought I'd give it a try. The non-stick properties sounded good, and it had a metal-only handle that would allow me to put it into the oven. My other pans don't. I've had it for just under 3 months. It does not live up to the hype in the commercials. Everything ends up sticking. Cracks are opening up in the bottom and the coasting is flaking off the rim. Even the Gotham website belies their own ad campaign. If this pan is so indestructible, why do they prompt you to purchase an "upgrade" of a second coating when you place your order? Not worth the money. I resent the implication that I do not know how to care for my pans. I've bought inexpensive, 3-pack, non-stick pans in the grocery store that have lasted longer and worked better than this Gotham pan has. I'm just glad I didn't throw away the grocery store pans. They are still in perfect working order after 15 years!

Yes people are getting the two pans confused. However, for good reason. They are the exact same pan only sold by different companies. One company says to season the pan while the other does not.

Exactly as Advertised

I started out skeptical but ordered a pan anyway. I was annoyed that you have to "upgrade" to get the better quality ( double coated ) pan. It took a couple of weeks to get my new frying pan. The first thing I did was fry up two steaks and amazingly they did not stick at all. After the pan cooled I was able to wipe it out with a paper towel and rinse it out. This morning I made scrambled eggs with cheese that did not stick, except to the rivets that hold the handle to the pan. This is true in all of my non-stick pans. I really love this new pan and will order more. They could improve the pans by making those rivets non-stick and improving the handle design to be more comfortable. It would be worth the extra money to me!

Why it Sticks

I talked to customer service and they said it can handle up to 500 degrees in an oven but is not designed to cook on high stove top temp. That is one thing that can cause it to stick. ANother reason he gave why my pan May stick is that I did not clean all the oil and food off of the pan before I put it in the dishwasher. I then asked, "so I have to wash the pan before I put it in the dishwasher"? And he said yes. I told him it kinda defeats the purpose of the dishwasher doesn't it. He said it is my preference for further cleaning. I think these pans will work but you have to use them at low / med temps on the stove which is generally good cooking sense, and you should wash by hand. So, I wash by hand the stubborn burnt on food of a traditional pan, or I wash by hand the oil and non stubborn food from my non-stick pans. Option 2 is much less stress!

Great Pan

I think these people who complain just don't know how to cook. I use mine all the time. Nothing sticks and cleaning is the best. A little soap and water and I either let it air dry or wipe it dry. I bought pans for all my kids. Even my son who hates to cook thought the pan was great. Not sure what these people are doing wrong but no problem here. Could be a little cheaper but if you watch closely you can find a good deal. Love It.

Not What I Thought I Was Busying

I was so impressed with the commericals I saw on the pan I ran out and bought one, what a mistake.
And yes this is my fault I did not save the receipt.
My pan on the 7th use ( while cooking eggs ) stuck terrible, upon trying to clean it afterward I could not get it to come clean, its like it took the coating off.
So very disappointed, 7 uses is definitely not acceptable and I will be telling my friends.

Works Well so Far

I was somewhat surprised to read all the bad reviews about the Gotham Steel pans. I've been using my Gotham Steel pan for 3 months now and it still works great! I've noticed that after cooking eggs in it and then washing the pan, there's often still a little bit of residue that you can only see when you shine the pan in the light. It comes off with some elbow grease and a nonstick scrubber, and this seems to keep it from sticking the next time I use it. I'll going to try to regularly season it, as I like my pan and want it to last as long as possible!

I'm with you. I've been using it for two months and I love it! Sometimes things will stick a little if the heat is too high or I cook it too long, but it always washes off with no problem.
I made seared Ahi tuna last night. Some of the spices I coated it with stuck a little, but the tuna rally didn't. And what did stuck cleaned right up. And I used no oil! I love this pan!

False Marketing

I will not work as advertised. My cheap steel skillets work as well or better with a little bit of oil! It works well for scrambling eggs!
They need to stop Marketing like they are because the product does not perform as they claim.
Save your money or get a nice cast iron skillet and use oil! There should be an asterisk before the first star rating because this skillet is Junk when Marketed as they have done!
Be honest about the product and admit some foods will stick and then I might be inclined to give it one star!

Food Slides Off!

I wish I could buy every size pan in the world from this company. I have made scrambled eggs with cheese and sunny side up eggs in this pan and have never had a single problem with any sticking. The food slides right off the pan like other companies show on infomercials! I wash it by hand because it only takes a few seconds. I have not used any metal utensils in the pan like they say you can but that's because I don't want my family to see me doing that and then thinking they can do it in every pan we own. I would buy more items from this company in a heartbeat!*

Not Magnetic

I would give it five stars if it were magnetic. The pan itself is actually very nice and I am sure it does everything they claim it can do. I was hoping it was steel and would work on my induction burner. Unfortunately it is apparently not magnetic. So I will have to use it on a conventional stove.*

Worked Perfectly for Me

I'm assuming that the people that had issues with this pan didn't read the instructions: low to medium heat, no aerosol sprays, and not for use on induction top stoves. Other than that, mine worked beautifully, and I really enjoy cooking with it. I enthusiastically recommend it, and have been telling everyone around the office about it.

Mine was just fine right out of the package. I put raw chicken breast in the pan that I had heating up on high heat. That would stick a bit on my cast iron, steel and nonstick stuff. It slid around like there was a layer of air between the chicken and pan. Cleaned easier than anything else I own and I am considering replacing my regular cookware with all this stuff.

Pretty Good

I've only used it twice so it's hard to give a full review. My only criticism at the moment is the less-the-economic handle. But no worse than many skillets.
Despite the claims of not needed any fat in the pan I'll add a little butter or olive oil for flavor. And although the titanium-ceramic surface is said to be not scratch, even using metal cookware, I'll treat it as gently as any non-stick surface.
But it's a perfect size for my needs and so far has lived up to expectations.*

WOW Unbelievable

If you are from canada, do not buy over the phone. When I phoned. The guy on the other end told me it was in canadian funds. It was being sent from ontario canada. We were on the phone for quite awhile; as he was trying to reassure me that I would be paying in canadian funds. So I purchased it on his word. Not until I received the bill. Did I find out I was billed in foreign currency. So much for honesty. I wonder how many others got sucked into this. Do the TV stations know or even care how people are getting ripped off. While they advertise all this Junk. Yes. I say Junk, because it does not work as advertised. if some liquid or oil is added, it works fine. But otherwise it sticks and burns! So shame on the television channels and all the people involved in selling this stuff for duping the public. Oh yes. Where is the receipt. Never got one. Once duped. Twice shy. Never ever again!

In short: shipping was good. Online experience good. Skillet sucks. Worse than my other 'normal' skillets. The pan burned while frying up turkey burgers. Had to soak pan and then use brillow pad to scrape off. Eggs also cooked into the pan. Had to scrub to get that off as well. Good idea, but terrible product.

I've noticed that most pans sold "As seen on tv" require you to do some sort of pre-cleaning and / or pre-oiling and warming it to make it non-stickable.

Were you given such instructions before using it? I've heard not everyone follows the instructions for past pans.

Thanks

Despite "seasoning" the pans as instructed, the non-stick capability of these pans does not last, and fried rice is a nightmare in these pans. They don't say anything about "seasoning" the pans in their ads. And customer service is ridiculously horrible.

Gotham Steel Vs Teflon

It's small, things stick to the sides, supposed to be completely non-stick and able to cook without butter or oils but didn't work for me. Would not buy again. Not as good as regular teflon non-stick. I have no idea how they burn cheese in it during the ads which slides out with ease. Eggs in particular stick and are difficult to get out even with butter and a spatula. Not a fan.*

Decent Non Stick Pan

Look. It's a typical infomercial product. Yes. They try to get you to upgrade and buy every other ridiculous product that they offer. But you can certainly just say no. I didn't choose the "extra" thick coating. But by the time I was done it was still about $29 with shipping. They made it clear that this was for the 9.5" pan. They did mentioned something about the larger pan, but I really just wanted to try it out to see if it was anywhere near as good as they make it look in the commercial. Long story short, it's a decent non stick pan. Everybody worries about teflon and harmful toxic chemicals. Hopefully. This one is safe. I tried frying an egg without any butter and it certainly wasn't as slippery as they advertise in the commercial, but come on. Who really cooks an egg without any butter? Overall I would rate the pan and the coating about a 4.5 out of 5, but the pan itself is really only about about a 3.5.

Not Worty It!

Maybe the 2 people that like the pan purchased something that the rest of us didn't! I agree with the other reviewers - the food stuck to the bottom and it wasn't the joy to cook with that the advertising said. No, I didn't use high heat since I've been using Teflon pans for a good number of years. Also, if the pan is apparently 'scratch proof' why did the instructions indicate not to put anything on top of the pan in case it scratches? Wish I had seen that before I purchased it. Total waste of money.

No butter needed.. No oil needed.. Yeah, OKAY!... Decided to make myself some eggs yesterday and was looking forward to using my new Gotham Steel... Much to my disappointment, 2 minutes into cooking I go to scramble my eggs and THEY'RE COMPLETELY STUCK TO THE DAMN PAN!!! Seriously?!? I paid $25 plus shipping for this?!? False advertising much?!?

Now, I can see with using butter or oil that I probably won't have issues and fairly easy cleanup. But the simple fact that I paid $25+ for this freaking pan REALLY irritates me!!! I could've gone out and picked up a non stick pan for half the price!!!

Also, this pan could definitely be bigger! I won't be buying another!!!*

Not only do items stick but also the coating is chipping! I called customer service, was told my glasstop stove is considered an induction style and the pans will not work! Hum! I looked up the difference: conventional or glasstop models heat a metal coil under the glass, transferring the heat from the element to the surface and then to the pan. Induction-style elements have copper coils that do not generate heat. Instead they create an electromagnetic field that reacts with a magnetic material, such as iron in the pan, turning the pan into a burner. So, I was told wrong! My glasstop is not an induction style. I'm quite upset with the pans and the response I've been given!

Nothing Sticks!

Nothing sticks to Daniel "Teflon" Green, an existential hero in the long line of out-of-nowhere salesmen like Billy Mays. Daniel Green. A man of exemplary cool. Quick witted. He will sell you a watch, a frying pan, a trip to Luna on Bezos spaceship. And, he's "Fun. ".

Offered 2 pans at one shipping charge of $ $6.95 that was the TV offer

they decided to cancel one pan and after 22 days, ship just one pan for the same $6.95 and unilaterally cancel one pan.
they do not want to send the pan without having to pay again.

this is a bait and switch rip-off do not buy from gotham pans

Gotham Frying Pan

Oh my. I have never had a problem with my Copper Pan. Probably because I never read the instructions; I was so excited, I simply washed it and started to cook everything I could think of. To date, I have never used oil, butter, sprays, etc. I season my meats ( pork chops, boneless chicken breast ), eggs, broccoli and stir fried veggies. I've even cooked pancakes. All these people having problems after following directions. Nothing ever stuck! Guess it's true. Ignorance is bliss! I just bought another one to make pot roast in the oven. I won't read those directions either.

Not Perfect But Not Bad

Okay, I was skeptical about this pan, its not perfect, but its not bad. First off I must say, I hate the handle, it's very different, but it is not a deal breaker for me. The advertisement say you can cook eggs without any oil/spray/butter and they slide right off, so the first thing I cook is my husband some cheesy scrambled eggs with it. So, without using any oil, butter or spray I start cooking, thinking to myself, these eggs are going to stick and probably burn, and I am going to have a huge mess to clean up, well I was wrong. The eggs did not stick, but they did leave stuff on the pan, so overall I think this is a awesome smaller pan. I don't think its perfect, but it works, if your looking to cut fat from your diet from oil and butter I could really see this pan helping. I have used i twice for eggs so far, and the same results, a little stick on the pan, but its pretty awesome, I am very happy with it. I don't understand why so many people have problems with it, I didn't and I am really considering getting another one, I wish they were sold in different sizes. But overall I am happy and think this pan deserves 5 stars! *

No Refunds!

On the first use my eggs stuck to the pan and had to be scrapped off. I tried french toast and not only did it not cook evenly, the parts that did cook left black Marks on the pan. I had to soak it for 3 days to get the stuck food and stains off, and even now you can see some black Marks. I followed instructions to the letter. I did not keep my reciept and there is no way to get a refund from this horrible company.

Legal definition of the word Fraud from the Legal Dictionary:
"Fraud is commonly understood as dishonesty calculated for advantage. A person who is dishonest May be called a fraud. In the U.S. Legal system, fraud is a specific offense with certain features. "
that company made fraudulent claims. "You can get our wonder pan for blah blah dollars" But the thing is. You can't. That's the fraud, not this poor person taken in by their horribly managed company. What exactly is your position with that company Kevin?

Well john they charged my card.

Pros:
1) I noticed the gal who said it didn't work and wondered if she simply turned the heat up past 500 degrees
so I started with my first eggs and turkey bacon between medium and low and eventually brought it to medium.
I was impressed with the slide off effect. Simply wiped with a paper towel and it looked brand new (which I suppose it is) but the turkey bacon left NO BROWNING anywhere.
2) I like the fact that , while my other pan made of non-stick aluminum has now rounded and will not sit flat, this does
sit flat on the electric burners. Of course I will report again if this changes, but it was a pleasure to get away from that rocking other pan.

Cons:
1) I made the turkey first so I could see how EVENLY the heat was dispersed But the heat up on the walls of the pan did not heat as well as the center of the pan. I do not believe they made any claims on heat distribution but some pans have overcome this kind of uneven distribution, even up to the walls. Also the heat near the bottom circumference was not as well heated as the heat right in the center, while my small electric burner covers 85% of the pan . I was expecting better but perhaps that can only be obtained using copper.

That's all for now, will return with more later on.*

Not What it is Said to Be

Purchased the Gotham 9.5" pan. Terrible. Cooked a sausage patty and it stuck. Tried to clean but still left a Mark. Now everything I cook sticks to that Mark. Purchased another one thought this one was just defective. Figured I'll give it another chance. So I will have one in its place while I sent this one back. But seeing I have to pay shipping plus they want tracking and insurance which will cost more than the $9.95 processing & handling charge. That will add more on to the pan itself. The company should pay this additional charge since their product has not stood up to their warranty. I will not send it back and I will return to the store the one a recently purchased and have not used yet.
Very unsatisfied with this product. I will tell everyone I know not to buy this pan or any other pan / pot by that company.

Pans Stick

Received my pans today. Read through warranty carefully and complied with all it stated. Tried cooking eggs on low to medium temp and they were a stuck mess. Was able to get them out of pan but not like commercial. Pan was easy to clean though. Only correct fact in commerccial. Don't waste your money. Going to return mine immediately.

Totally Disappointed

Received the frying pan and tried cooking an egg in it and the egg stuck, tried another egg and again the egg stuck and burned. The pan did not wipe clean as shown on TV. I tried to call the customer service number - first I waited on hold and then was disconnected, so I tried again and the same thing happened. You know the old saying "if it sounds too good to be true" Don't I feel like a fool!

So far I have used this pan to cook bacon. I had hardly any clean up and the bacon did not stick to the pan. Afterward I put it in the dishwasher and it came out nice and clean with out a crumb on it. I love that I can use metal utensils with it because those plastic ones do not work very well when they get hot. I have used a fork and tongs and neither one has scratched it. I hope I will be cooking with this pan for years to come.*

Sorry but I bought two of the Gotham Steel Loaf pans 9.7 X $5.75 x 2.8 I wanted them for making quick breads. I made two loaves of Banana Nut Bread, Baked at 375' and it was a disaster. Both loaves stuck. Had to scrape them out of the pan. Non Stick? I don't think so. Will use parchment paper in the future. I bought these pans at Bed Bath and Beyond. Not good for the price I paid.

Not Sure What You Bought

The 9.5 inch pans were purchased for me by my sister for my birthday. I have read through the reviews here, and am dumbfounded. Not sure what they bought, but so far, everything that was advertised, has proven true for me. Made eggs sunny side up the first use, cracked the eggs, dropped them in the pan, let them cook, slid them out of the pan right onto my plate. One of the only times I made eggs and didn't break the yolk spilling it all over. Never even used a spatula. And still to this day, the pans work great. So all the reviews talking about how it sticks on first time use. Well, not sure what you bought, but true Gotham Steel pans work great for me.

Cast Iron is Best

The best pan and best buy for pans is cast iron. It is the closest to nonstick that I have cooked on .The pans I have are : copper, Calphalon ,stainless, teflon ,and cast iron. I bought a 12 inch cast iron pan for $24 . I can be put in the oven ,and you can use a metal spatula on it .It will not scratch. Only drawback is it may be heavy for those out of shape and you cannot let cast air dry it will rust.*

Not Designed For

The cast trade Mark on the bottom of the 9 1 / 2 frying pan protrudes beyond the total surface of the pan.

On the surface of stove with a glass top the cast trade mark is the only contact point with the heating element.
This causes uneven heating of the frying pan.
It is also inefficient since not heat transfer takes place on the total pan surface.

Pan Full of Lies!

The first time I used this pan it was exactly as advertised. It was incredibly nonstick heated nicely cleaned beautifully. A few uses in using only plastic or wood cooking utensils and only ever butter or rendered fat for cooking and the bottom is scratched, warped and just about everything will stick to it even using butter.

The gotham pan is the worst unit I have ever used. Non-stick?
Tried to do morning pancakes the day received the pan. Stuck stuck stuck!
Had to soak pan in dish solution to clean up. Never in all my life have I seen such bold face lies! The ads aren't even funny. If the endorsing chef is real I would be careful and not eat his preparations.

The guarantee is worthless if you purchase any of these pans in a store, they will not replace or refund your money! Mine started sticking after the 4th use. I called customer service and they would not replace the pan because I did not purchase directly from them. I loved cooking on it for awhile but now its just like any other pan you can buy at walmart.

The Non-Stick Properties of these Pans disappear after the Very First Use. Every singe Buyer of these Crappy Pans should be given their Money back. It's Not Really Dishwasher Safe

The non-stick qualities are no better and no worse than any other non-stick pan. You can scramble eggs in it and it cleans up easily with just running water and a paper towel. We use a small amount of butter for seasoning.
We've had the pan for a couple of months and use it about every day. My only real beef with the pan is that it's advertised as "dishwasher safe. " It isn't. The bottom of the pan where the aluminum is exposed is corroding after a couple dozen trips through the dishwasher and we have begun having to handwash it. It's not hard to do but you have to give special attention to the brads inside the pan that hold the handle on as food tends to get stuck into the crevices around them. It's annoying that I can't put something sold as dishwasher safe in the dishwasher.

It's Ok

The only way this pan actually works as a non-stick pan is if you do not wash it with soap and you merely rinse it out and wipe it down with a paper towel, leaving a slippery residue. This idea that everything just slides right out is a lie. I do use butter for eggs and a little oil for other things. Fatty foods don't require any oil. Things did stick when I was washing the pan after each use, but not severely so. It required a little prying with a spatula and the seared juices which dried on the pan could be removed fairly easily with a mildly abrasive sponge. So I don't regret buying this pan and I got it because Titanium is a strong metal as opposed to copper, but I wasn't paying attention to the size and the lid I had from my old 10" Ogreenics pan doesn't fit, much to my chagrin. I still use non metallic utensils since I want to preserve the surface as long as possible. I'm probably going to go ahead and buy the copper pan just because of the lid issue.

Easy To Use

The pan does exactly what I intended it for. I've not had any issues. I always cook on low heat, because I think the food tastes better. If you cook fast you are very likely to just cook the outside and the inside is not properly cooked. With items with no fat content, I added a small bit of olive oil to assist with cooking. The pan is very easy to wash up and literally takes me about 30 seconds to wash, dry, and put away.

The outer part of the skillet is approximately 9.5. inches with the actual cooking area measuring approximately 9 inches. The pan works great for cooking for one or two people. Omelets work really good, because with the inclined sides it's easy to slide your spatula down into the pan to work with the omelet.

In my experiences non stick pans aren't exactly that. Yes they are better to assist your cooking experience, but most times you need a little "lubrication" to assist the cooking process. I've never been able to successfully cook some foods without some oil to keep my food from sticking. In my opinion, you should still add a little oil/fat of your choice and cook at lower heats. If you want to cook high and fast... I would suggest a wok.

As in any pan, time will tell on how well the quality will last and hold up. I'll be back with updates if I feel the pan has not held up under normal use.*

Fair but Poor Design

The pan itself seems to work as described. However, they put the cheapest possible handle on the pan making the whole pan look very much like a piece of junk. Food does stick to the handle rivets inside the pan so it is not quite a clean as "seen on TV". The handle is very thin and the sharp edges actually hurt your hand if there is any weight to what is in the pan. I would not buy another one. There are plenty of non-stick products out there.*

It Does Begin to Stick the More I Used It

The pan worked for me as seen on TV commercial for approximately a month of heavy use and it gradually began to stick more and more. This morning I made scrambled eggs and they stuck so bad I couldn't scrap the pan out with a plastic spatula. Soaking it did the trick. I loved it at the beginning, but now its no better than the other non-stick pans I have purchased. I still give it a four star for the fun I got cooking with it in the beginning.

This is truly a nifty little pan.
I fried eggs on it with *no* oil or butter, then slid them right off with a metal spatula with no struggle and no mess or scratching. It's a beauty. It makes life easier for those of us who are interested in cutting down on cooking agents like oil which facilitate easy frying but add calories and fat to the foods they aid.
The handle is a good solid material, but be careful with it--it is made of metal and will become hot as the temperature is raised. Just be sure to use a hot pad for the handle and you'll be glad you have the pan. It's very slick, durable, and even oven-rated to 500 degrees! How many non--stick frying pans do you know which can boast that?*

This pan has stuck from day one. Doesn't matter what I am cooking. Eggs stick and break. The only good thing is that you can use metal on it. But I have plenty of pans that don't stick that I can use metal on. I have to use oil or butter. Sticks every time. What a waste of time and money.

COMPLAINT

This pan only works for a few times. Food now sticks and leave a burnt Marks on pan. Eggs now stick. Not worth the money you pay for it.
Green ceramic pans work better, they never sticked until someone scratched the pan.

Poor Quality Control

This product not only does not work as advertised but there is no apparent quality control. I have been using ceramic pans for years now to get away from the fumes and chemicals in the Teflon pans for my family. The advertisements on these pans show an egg placed on it without oil sliding around with no effort or residue left on the pan. My first time using it the egg stuck all over the place. This is the worst experience on a ceramic pan I have had, even those much cheaper than these.

Then there is the quality control issues they are obviously having. I ordered two pans. The first had a 2mm spot missing on the ceramic finish. Based on the ceramic dust in the pan it was probably a bubble that came off. It started to warp the first couple of times I used it which based on the sound was probably a bonding issue. As the pan heated and cooled there was a pinging noise like the layers were coming apart. The second looked like it was hit HARD in the face with the back of a hammer. The finish was gouged and there was a 1/2" deep dent (see pictures). No damage at all on the paper and plastic covering the face so it happened between manufacturing and wherever they put the paper and plastic cover on each pan. It is blatantly obvious that no one is checking these pans for defects where they are manufactured.*

Would Not Recommend

This type of lying should be outlawed and those who do the lying should be prosecuted as this pan was a complete waste of money and a crock of donkey ding.
My first use was for fried eggs and it worked but my second use was for frying ham and then eggs and after frying the ham the eggs stuck to the pan so bad that I needed a spatla to scrap them out and after hand washing noticed a slight burn Mark already and my third use was for scrambled eggs. I whisked them in the pan and cooked them as normal and they too stuck, plus cleaning the pan was never as easy as just wiping, heck, I had to scrub somewhat hard to clean the scrambled eggs clean and worked hard to clean the ham out of it.
I bought mine at a local store with other small odds and ends but never kept the receipt or lost it, but how many actually keep receipts for things of such a small value unless using a c / c?
I wouldn't recommend to anyone nor give as a gift.
What a waste of money, guess this just goes to show you get what you pay. If you want quality one must pay for it.

THIS PAN STICKS! (and Sucks! )

This was the biggest scam of 2016. The pans I purchased are in a land fill now. As they stick better than stamps, glue, plaster and tape.

If I could only get my $ back!

Instructions Are Important!

Took away one star because the instructions seem to have been lost or hard to find in my package. Thought I read everything but somehow I missed the need to season the pan which is exactly what I was looking for. (Another reviewer said she saw instructions to season.) However, even without seasoning and after running it through the dishwasher I cooked an oil free breakfast of hash browns and an sautéed onion and cheese omelet with ease and the pan came clean easily between each step. Honestly, I think I might need a little oil for flavor in my hash browns next time but the ease of clean up was amazing!*

Unfortunately, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is. No exception here!!! The claim is you need no oil and nothing sticks. Well the first test was scrambled eggs, what happened they stuck to the pan.

The other thing is I have no spatula small enough for this pan, I know it says it's size, but on TV looked larger. Overall a waste of 25 dollars. Maybe you will have more luck!!!*

Upon reading dozens of reviews on the gotham nonstick titanium / ceramic pan ( 11" ) it's almost a neck and neck either you hate it or love it type series of reviews. I personally think it's a rip-off and after 2 uses it stuck so bad I had to bring out the big guns to get the fried hamburger residue off. Such a scam.

You are right a piece of crap brought this pan at bjs worst pan I have brought. From day one I cook fried eggs and it get stuck to the pan and did not slide as in the commercials. Did scrambles eggs also got stuck to the pan try putting oil the oil ran to the side of the pan as if the middle as pump up. Everything got stuck or burn from sausage to fish to meats etc. Since I trash my old pans I found myself running to walmart to purchase a new pan. I would not recommend this pan to anyone.

12.5" Pan Not Good

We have a 12.5 inch frying pan that we have used maybe 10 times. It is a piece of Junk, it's full of scratches and everything sticks to it. We have tried to get the black residue off but it looks like it is actually stained in some areas of the coating, the rest can only be removed with a stiff brush and even then it doesn't all come off. We also have a red copper pan that we use and treat in the same manner as this pan and have no problem at all. We called Gotham Steel and they told us because it's older then 90 days we need to send it back to the manufacturer we pay $9.95 both ways for shipping. We see no reason the spend $19.90 for another useless pan. We wonder what material we ingested from the scratches.

We have used this pan five or six times already and the eggs always stick. We have the flame on low but that doesn't seem to make a difference except in the time it takes to cook the eggs. Am really disappointed. Will try the seasoning suggestions.

When I got my pan it WAS amazing, everything worked like the commercial AND better! But now after about a month it doesn't work at all. I think the problem is that it may have damaged it by cooling it too quickly with water once.

By clicking the 'Process Order' button you are placing a live order and agreeing to the terms and conditions. This is the very first button you'd click. You don't have the option of confirming your order. Thus, you actually placed a full order.

Trash

Worked unbelievably well AT first. Fell in love with the pan for the first 30 days so I bought 2 more pans, then all of a sudden each time something else would stick to the pan until it got to the point within 60 days of purchasing it can't be used at all. And, whatever you do, DO NOT scape it with anything that could remotely scratch it as advertised. I should have know. If its too good to be true.

Works Great

Works great for me no problem at all. I grabbed it at Walmart just in case it was not as advertised. No need to worry about that cheese straight on the pan and poured it out no problem. Then I accidentally left the pan on after making a grilled cheese sandwich ALL night long. I found it in the morning after having that butter burnt onto the pan. I Decided to try and clean it and although it did take some solid work to clean the pan it indeed came 100% inside the pan and works great still. Don't think another pan I have would have survived that.

You cannot cook eggs like it shows on the TV ad if you don't use oil or butter they will not slide out like the ad says. Maybe lf you cook bacon first? I feel you are advertising something that doesn't work. People won't send them back why throw good money after bad. I should get my money back in the commercial. You say "oiler butter".

You don't have much of a life if you waste precious time telling people how stupid they are. I came here to check up on this pan. I have no doubt that, someday, they will develop cookware that does not stick no matter what you do to it, cook in it, or wash it in. Apparently, this is not that pan. However, you really need to get a life because, apparently, you don't have one as evidenced by your loving message designed to make the world a better place.

I have checked on this kind of frying pan in the stores and I have held the pan in my hand ( the handle in the store is the same type as on the Gotham Steel Pan ) and I personally do NOT like the feel of the handle in my hand. To me the handle lacks substance it does not have a stable feel in the hand. So therefore, I would not purchase this pan as it is now. If the handle was improved with a firmer feel to it, then I might reconsider my opinion and a purchase of the pan.

I just tried to order a pan after seeing a commercial on tv. I should have come here before. It was an automated system taking the order. After taking my name, address and credit card info, it told me thanks for your order of $56.99$! I said wow! No! I want to change the order, cancel. But no. Too late. There's nothing I could do. I didn't have the option to confirm, change or cancel my order. This is a scam. I also spent 2 hours waiting for the line at customer service and nobody picked up.

I mistakenly believed more commercials meant the product was selling well & so they could afford more advertising. I now believe the opposite. They need more commercials to get more first time buyers with no positive word of mouth. A really good product could & will cut back on advertising as word of mouth & return costumer base increases.

Home Owner

I ordered the full set of "deluxe" cookware at the beginning of January. On the first of February, I received an E-mail stating that my order had been cancelled. The reason stated was "invalid CC amount". I called Gotham and the 'customer service' person said that the card had been declined "can you give me another card? " I told them to just go ahead and cancel the order and the 'customer service' person hung up on me.

Complaints:
1. It took almost a full month just to receive the cancellation notice.
2. The credit card had not been declined. It was current and the amount was more than covered in the account. This seems very much like a 'scam' to compile credit card numbers for? I have cancelled the card I gave to them and had it re-issued, just in case.

Lessons learned:
1. Always read customer reviews before ordering anything. If you sitll decide that you want to order the item ( s ), order from other than media 'info-Mercials'.

What a Bunch of Crap

I read these reviews and I don't believe how you people fuss and cry over stupid stuff. Yes, they will try to get you to up grade your order. Yes, they will try to get you to order other items because its a service center and they service several company's at one time. If you don't receive what you order, call you credit card company or bank if a debit card and they will handle it for you. Also, read the instructions on how to use your pan before you use it. Now for the record, I don't own this pan. I was just reading the reviews and saw all this fussing and bitching. Now if you would wait, this item will be available at Wal-Mart, Walgreen's and / or CVS and you can buy it there and not pay the extra items charges or shipping cost. People, people, people use that thing on top of your shoulders for something more than a hat rack!

Excuse me but I did use my head and checked the reviews before I went through what so many seem to have with simply customer service. I don't have time to deal with stupid stuff or pans that stick or I wouldn't have considered the pan to start with. Try owning it for before you insult us.

Hey, John. You presume that instructions on caring for the pan actually came with the pan. I did order one. My husband kept pointing out their ads, so I thought I would surprise him with one as a gift. What a mistake. The pan arrived thrown inside a box, no protective packaging, no instructions, no packing slip, no contact information in case I wanted to return it. Just a pan in a box. That was a clue before we even tried to use it the first time. Most cooking implements say to wash with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly before first use, so we did that. The first thing we cooked stuck to the pan. If you haven't even tried the product, perhaps you should refrain from chastising people who have, and who have been less than satisfied. We're just trying to warn the next person who might be considering buying one that their money will most likely be wasted.

BUYER be WARE

I was going to order today but when I saw an "arbitration agreement" that was my first red flag, then after reading the agreement it confirmed my red flag. When I tried to call customer service to inquire on the agreement and what was "insure ship" it was closed ( Sunday ) but the website does not list days, just 8 am to 8 pm. Then upon reading all the reviews there are more negative than positive which made my Decision not to purchase. Thank you to the people who took the time to warn others before making a unwise purchase.

Thank You All!

I watched their commercial earlier today, and it caught my attention. Still trying to find a superior non-stick pan, and that company claims to have the perfect product.
But I checked reviews first, and I saved my money. So thank you all for posting, even the company's avatars. I'm gonna make a wild guess as to what's going on. I suspect these guys are buying this stuff wholesale in a cheap developing country, so they could basically just worried about advertising & shipping. But shipments have been delayed or missed, damaged or defective. So these guys have no products. Not deliberate or criminal, but incompetent.

Curious

I would like to know if this pan works like they say on TV. One person said food items stuck to the pan. I can't find anybody else that received the pan and tested it. If it works so well, why are they not delivering these items? If your advertising a product and don't deliver to the customer, then you are committing a fraudulent sales practice. Beware and read, read, read reviews. Thank You for your reviews fellow countrymen and women.

No matter who you order from, There are always three departments The first department is sales, the second apartment is billing, the third department is shipping and receiving. And you have to remember that the left hand will never know what the right hand is doing. So the people in sales are honest, The people in billing are controlled by whatever the computer tells them, and last there is shipping and receiving which may or may not know how to read paperwork or what they are doing. The bottom line is all companies are honest because the Attorney General forces them to provide truth in advertising. And read the fine print because there are thousands of companies out there who will not refund your shipping and handling charges. These people only warrant their product for 90 days. I only buy the lifetime warranty products and from companies who refund the shipping and handling fees. Also, you can find As Seen on TV products like these from your local hardware store who have sections set up for as seen on TV products.

John, it's pretty obvious by looking at these reviews that you're a shill.

I was willing to look through the crappy reviews, but every time I come across one of your gems ( "they're obligated to be honest" ) I'm reminded of how shady companies can be.

Here's a news flash: Companies can largely get away with promising anything at all. There's a reason Chiropractors can claim that they cure cancer, it's because it works and nobody is going to stop them.

So before you fall into bed with Gotham Steel, realize that there can be incompetence at every level, and that dishonesty is the name of the game for most companies.

Do your research and, based on what I've been reading here, I suggest you order from Amazon so that you actually DO have someone that's "trusted" in your corner.

Jn

If you really believe all companies are honest, then you are either stupid or employed by Gotham Steel. Companies will do whatever they can get away with to turn a profit. The phrase, 'Buyer Beware' was not coined from dealing with honest businesses.

Should I Try Buying One of These or is it a Scam

I would sure like to have one of these pans, but, so many people are saying they have not gotten their order and they have thier credit card number. I would like to buy online through paypal only, would that be possible. And most of all is this product safe to use around parrots, teflon kills parrots and I have had mine 34 years and love her so could not stand this loss over a pan? Is it safe at high temps? Or like teflon? Thanks, Donna.

Teflon kills parrots?!? Unless you're planning to cook your bird in the pan, what does any of this have to do woth parrots?

Reply
Bird Lover
Posted: 19 Jan 2016

Birds' respiratory systems are 400% better than humans so they breathe in fumes, smoke from candles / cigarettes, teflon especially if burnt, dryer sheets, fabreeze / plug ins, or aerosol sprays, or any type of cleaning solutions or smelly product. That is why they use canaries in mines - if they stop singing and drop dead, they know that gas is leaking and to evacuate. Teflon is especially bad. If a nieghboor down the street burns their pan, it can kill your bird!

Jn
Posted: 23 Feb 2016

Bird Lover, Under normal cooking conditions PTFE-coated cookware is stable and safe. Many studies have found that PTFE-coated pans must be heated to above 536°f to release toxic particles and fumes, in a reaction called “pyrolysis. ” This is a very high temperature, and is rarely reached during normal cooking. Most cooking in PTFE-coated cookware is performed at temperatures between 250° and 400°f. On the other hand, if a PTFE-coated pan is allowed to boil dry or an unfilled pan is heated on high, toxic fumes can result. PTFE-coated drip pans ( pans under the burners ) will reach over 600°f or higher within minutes during normal use because of their close proximity to the heating element of the burner. Never use PTFE-coated drip pans in a household with birds.

Don't do It

Stay clear don't order I ordered 2 pans last night and within 10 mins called back to cancel the order, the girl told me that I have to call customer service in the morning. She told me that is will take 24 / 48 hrs to process and I would receive it in 2-4 weeks. I go on www.customerstatus.com and check the order this morning and I'm being charged for 3 pans I call customer service and I said just cancelled it. They tell me it left the warehouse this morning. I told them they are liars. They knew I was going to cancel and they rushed the order through. When the order returns I will ship it back and get all my money back. If a company can't be honest they won't get my business.

Tried to order the pan. The kid on the phone kept on trying to up sell me ( adding extra pans, extra coatings, pan covers etc ). Told him all I wanted was the pan. He said he had to read through his entire "script" or he would be fired. Told him to cancel my order. Hope that didn't get him fired. Most hardware stores and big hardware stores Will be selling these in their section called as seen on tv. Good luck! There doesn't seem to be any way to contact them after you place your order. I tried to click on return policy at the bottom of gotham's home page, and nothing happened. Your best bet is to cancel the payment. Maybe then they will contact you.

The only pan that ever needs seasoning is a cast iron skillet. These are ceramic and titaniam No seasoning. With these pans they work best with nothing and I usually season when it is in the pan.

I have a Question

Worried

I bought the set and have not used it, unsure of how many times to season the pans. My step mom loves her pan. I don't want my food to stick or burn. Do you ever use butter in the pan?

Return it while you can. If it hasn't started sticking before warranty expires, it will shortly after.

Skillets

I have 2 Gotham Steel skillets, I love the way they work; however, now I'm finding that things are beginning to stick. What can I do?

I have the 12.5 inch pan. I did everything per instructions. Never using any metal spatula on it even and everything in it is sticking and plus it has warped. I have had it less then a month.
Good luck in finding a customer service phone number. There is on where I have found to talk with someone about it and get my money back.
I have searched and searched to find someone that I can talk to on the phone and I have as of yet to find anyone. I for one will never ever buy one again.
I cannot find a Customer Service Phone number anywhere.

I also could not find any contact info to register my complaint. Nowhere in the instructions that came with the pan did it say to season the pan. Going back to my cast iron cookware. Much more dependable.

Pre-seasoning the Gotham Steel Skillet

I have read a couple of reviews that advocate seasoning the pan before its first use. How do I pre-season my Gotham skillet?

I have a Question

Couple of Questions

If "nothing" sticks to the pan, why does butter ruin the surface instead of sliding off? If I fry something with grease in it- pork, beef -does it ruin the surface also? If I use whole milk in the smores, will the butter fat content not ruin the surface also?

I have a Question

Cooking with Butter

If you can't cook with butter, that would mean you can't cook anything with milk or cream in it. That strikes me as a problem. If I can't use butter, why is cheese okay? They are both made from milk fat.

Because the pans used on TV are specially treated to give the desired result, eggs slide, bullshit.

I agree 100%. These are the worst pans I have ever purchased. Unfortunately, I purchased 3 of them at the same time.

I have a Question

Pan ok but Not as Advertised

This pan is ok, it's a fairly Decent pan for cooking BUT it is NOT as advertised. I made eggs in it on my first use and they stuck quite badly. Also, I tried using the blender in it to mix some stuff, like they do on the TV ad, and it scratched pretty badly. That upset me. It sticks less than stainless steel pans do but I don't like the false advertising. That shouldn't be allowed. It makes me wonder what else they are saying about the pan that isn't true, like is it really even safe to cook on heated copper and titanium?

I have a Question

Homemaker

When I received my Gotham Steel pan and grill it came with a "Arbitration Agreement" pamphlet. It tells you that by ordering this product I agree that any dispute between me and Gotham Steel concerning the product shall be settled by binding individual arbitration. Etc. My question is, what is this all about? Is there something really wrong with these pans that they have to send you this notice along with the product?

Yes. There is something wrong with the pans. They do not work as advertised. AT all. Please pack the things up and send them back for a refund. Even if they work the first time, they will not work as advertised after a short amount of use. Mine never worked as advertised from day one. That's my advise and as far as I can tell, almost everyone who got these pans, hate them.

What it means is that you sign off on unqualified replacement once purchased. They basically are telling you that they will not last as advertised and that you can buy new ones, but don't try to get replacement without paying. It's a scam!
