Zero Germ KN95 Face Masks are medical-grade, five-layer protective masks for the mouth, nose, and chin. It's claimed that these masks will be able to ward off the Coronavirus more effectively than the three-layer surgical masks that are more commonly seen in public, along with other germs, too. In a set of these disposable masks that are also made from hypoallergenic material, it's stated that you'll get 10 white masks with adjustable nosepieces, chin bands, and flexible ear straps.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Attach Mask to Face

To get started with one of these masks, hold one over your mouth, nose, and chin. As you do so, make sure that the edge with the nosepiece is closest to your nose, and the edge with the chin band is closest to your chin. Loop one of the stretchy ear straps around each ear to secure the mask to your face.

  2. Adjust Nosepiece

Next, adjust the flexible nosepiece so it suits the size and shape of your nose, instead of slipping off of it. If needed, tug the chin band down so it's actually wrapped around the underside of your chin.

  3. Wear Mask for Hours

After you've adjusted your mask's nosepiece (and its chin band, if necessary), you'll be able to wear the mask for up to a day without taking it off. You may want to wear your mask while you're shopping, while you're walking down the sidewalk, or even as you do things in your own yard.

  4. Dispose of Mask

When you're done with your mask for the day, remove its straps from your ears and hang onto one or both of them as you toss your mask in a trash receptacle. Since these masks aren't meant for multi-day use, it's unsafe to wear one of them for more than 24 hours, even if those hours aren't consecutive.

How It Works

If you've put one of these masks on properly, it'll stop at least 95 percent of viral particles with a size of 0.3 microns or more from gaining access to your mouth, nose, and chin. This includes viral particles that may be carrying the Coronavirus, in addition to common germs that can cause other illnesses, such as the flu. Therefore, by wearing one of these masks, you'll increase the chances that you'll be able to keep yourself healthy. Plus, each one will also help you avoid transmitting viral particles from your own mouth or nose to others. This type of mask won't get in the way of your breathing, though, as each one contains multiple microscopic holes that will allow air to move freely in and out.

Features

  • Medical-Grade

It's specified that this type of mask has been used by medical doctors, and each one has five layers of material, as opposed to the three layers that masks for civilians often have. If you've got one of these masks, and the person next to you has a three-layered surgical mask, you may end up being protected from more germs within the same environment.

  • Soft, Odorless Material

Almost nothing is worse than having to deal with an unpleasant odor that's assaulting your nose all day, or wearing something on your face that scratches your skin and makes it itch. Fortunately, the material used to make the Zero Germ KN95 Face Masks is soft and contains no fiberglass, so it's unlikely that it'll ever irritate your skin. Furthermore, these masks have no fragrance or medicinal smell at all.

  • Hypoallergenic

Aside from being soft against the skin and odor-free, these face masks are also hypoallergenic. As a result, if you deal with any common allergies, especially to synthetic materials, these masks most likely won't cause you to have a flare-up of symptoms.

  • FDA Compliant

These particular face masks are FDA compliant, which means that the United States Food and Drug Administration has deemed them safe for contact with food. This is important, because each mask you wear will be close to your mouth for up to hours at a time, and of course, you'll ingest food through that same mouth.

  • Come in Sets of 10

The Zero Germ KN95 Face Masks come in sets of 10, which will give you a 10-day supply if you don't give any masks to others. It's acceptable to give unused, untouched masks to others, but you should never give or lend someone a mask you've had on your own face.

Positive Points

  • Good for Essential Workers

If you're an employee at a grocery store or a pharmacy, you may not be provided with personal protective equipment, even though you may deal with just as many people as doctors and nurses do. In the event that your employer doesn't provide you with an effective protective mask for every shift, you can wear one of these Zero Germ masks to keep yourself safe from wayward germs. Seeing you in a mask may make customers feel safer, too, especially if they notice that you're wearing a mask of the KN95 variety, instead of a light blue surgical mask.

Negative Points

  • Not Reusable

One drawback associated with these face masks is the fact that they're not reusable. You can't just wash one in a machine or your sink and put it on the next day. Even if you were to wash your mask, it might not be as effective at blocking out germs as it was the day before, and you may get sick anyway. Due to the disposable nature of this type of mask, you'll certainly be creating more trash by using these, and if you use one every day, you'll need a whole new set after 10 days.

Critical Advice

If you're looking for a set of masks to donate to a hospital or a medical center of another sort, these ones aren't quite powerful enough. Although doctors have used this type of mask before, medical professionals in North America are sticking to N95 masks (instead of KN95 masks) during the Coronavirus pandemic. That means a set of these won't help them out, so it's best that you use every set you have for yourself.

Warnings

  • Must Cover Nose

Some people will cover just their mouth with a face mask while they're out in public, and leave their nose free. However, this isn't a good practice, as it'll automatically make your mask at least 50 percent less effective by allowing droplets to move freely into and out of your nose. If you wear a face mask, you should always have your nose covered, and if the nosepiece within one of these masks makes you feel uncomfortable, you should try adjusting it again.
