The Zen Salt Lamp is a small lamp made from authentic Himalayan salt crystals. After it's turned on, it'll provide you with a yellow-orange glow that shouldn't be blinding to the eyes, and this type of glow may make you feel more calm and relaxed. Aside from lighting up a room, the salt crystals used to construct each lamp may also contribute positively to the air quality and neutralize odors in the area the lamp's used in.
The cost of Zen Salt Lamp is $19.99 plus $12.99 shipping, for a total price of $32.98.

First, you'll need to select a location for your Zen Salt Lamp. It has a brown base that'll help it rest on a flat surface. However, it runs by electricity, so you'll need to pick a place that's close to an available electrical outlet.
After your lamp has been plugged in, adjust the black dimmer switch attached to the extension cord in order to choose how bright you want your light. If you're going to be meditating, you might want to have as little light as possible without the lamp being turned off, but if you're reading, you may choose a higher level of illumination. Regardless of what level you choose, one of these lamps will never strain your eyes or make you feel like you're blinded, due to the fact that each one will give off no blue light.
Once you're finished adjusting your dimmer, you'll be able to enjoy the warm, ambient light that comes from each Zen Salt Lamp. You may want to leave your lamp on all night as a night light, but if you want to save electricity at any point, it's a good idea to unplug it.
The Zen Salt Lamp comes in a yellow-orange shade, which helps it give off a soft glow instead of the harsher glow that will often come from a brilliant white light. As mentioned, no blue light—which is often emitted by computers, televisions, other electronics and LED lights, and can cause sleep disruption—will ever come from a lamp of this type.
Each lamp is only about the size of a human foot, so none of them will take up much space, even in a small room. That makes this lamp an ideal choice for college dorm rooms, small apartments, and tiny offices. The Zen Salt Lamp is also quite portable, although you will have to bring along its extension cord and find an electrical outlet to plug it into at your new location.
A group of Zen Salt Lamps may all look the same from far away, but if you examine them closely, you'll find that because of the configuration of the crystals, that's not really the case. In actual fact, no two of these lamps will look exactly alike, so you can be confident in the fact that you don't have a carbon copy of something everyone else in your neighborhood has.
An advantage that the Himalayan salt crystals used to make each lamp bring with them is that they may clear unwanted odors and other toxins out of the air. This may lead to improved breathing for everyone, especially asthmatics, and a more pleasant atmosphere without any irritating smells lingering around. If you find that your lamp does improve the smell of a room, you might want to turn one on near a diaper area, a garbage area or your cat's litter pan.
Negative ions sound as if they'd be bad for you, but they're actually able to benefit human beings. Potentially soothing waterfalls and waves often give off these ions, and the ions emitted by each Zen Salt Lamp are similar. As a result, one of these lamps could bring you a feeling of peace.
Most people want to feel peaceful while doing yoga, but don't want to be completely in the dark while moving between poses. Fortunately, the Zen Salt Lamp will give you enough light to practice yoga safely and securely, without being so bright that it'll disrupt your peace. If you find your lamp too bright on its highest setting, simply turn the dimmer down for a lesser glow. You may also enjoy just a dim glow if you're practicing less physical meditation techniques.
The Zen Salt Lamp will make a great night light for adults and kids alike. It'll look attractive on any bedside table while giving you enough illumination to see as you get up to go to the bathroom or grab a midnight snack. Kids who are normally afraid of the dark may even enjoy gazing at the crystals within one of these lamps as they drift off to sleep.
Besides potentially helping you go to sleep in the first place, these lamps will promote uninterrupted sleep with no random wake-ups in the middle of the night. Exposure to blue light can cause these to occur, but if you turn off other lamps and illuminated screens an hour before bed and just use this lamp, you may be able to avoid them. This, in turn, will enable you to feel more rested for work, errands or other tasks in the morning.
It appears that you'll always have to plug one of these lamps into electricity, as opposed to powering it by batteries. Especially if you're at a cottage or a campsite, this may dramatically restrict the number of areas where using this type of lamp is possible. You also will not be able to detach one of these lamps from its base and extension cord and use it as a lantern.
As it's not referred to as being water-resistant or weather-resistant, the Zen Salt Lamp isn't an ideal choice for outdoor use, anyhow. Even if you're able to find an electrical outlet to plug your lamp into outdoors, it could end up getting damaged by water or certain types of weather.
If you're teaching a yoga or meditation class and you want your lamp to look more like a large crystal found outdoors in nature, you can cover up its extension cord with a mat. While people may still know there's a cord attached, this will likely make the setup of your room look better.
In a large yoga or meditation class, just having one lamp to decorate the room might not be enough. You could get several lamps (or even a dozen) and arrange them around the perimeter of the room or around the group of students themselves. Just make sure no student is sitting so close to one that they can knock it over!
