The Zap Lantern is a bug zapping LED lantern that also offers regular LED light for those who are outdoors. In addition to zapping the bugs away, it is powered by the sun so recharging it is as simple as exposing it to the outdoor sunlight. This makes it an ideal companion for any outdoor use like hiking, camping, or even outdoor dinner parties on a patio. It is small, compact, and portable too which make it very appealing.
The cost of Zap Lantern is $19.99 plus $8.99 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Zap Lantern by paying the extra shipping fee of $8.99 for a total price of $37.97. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at zaplantern.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Zap Lantern and has taken down the website. Zap Lantern may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
Zap Lantern functions as a portable bug zapper which you can also use as an LED lantern. The solar powered zapper doubles as an LED lantern which gives off a light capable of attracting over one hundred different types of insects, particularly mosquitos and flies.
Said lantern is portable, the same as any other lantern, and it works without requiring any power outlet. Such a feature means you can use it indoors or outdoors, taking it with you when you go camping or hiking. Alternatively you can set it near a window that you want to leave open during the summer months or leave it on a picnic table when you are outside trying to enjoy a meal.
There are no coils which might be dangerous to the touch, no candles which pose a fire threat, no sprays, and no chemicals harmful to children or pets.
Powered by solar panels, you can enjoy a 300 volt electric grid for the unit. This means that you can turn it on and instantly watch as it covers up to four hundred feet of space, instantly killing any bugs that might come your way.
This design boasts a handle which is similar to most camping or outdoor lanterns. Such a design is meant to ease transportation of the device. The handle means you can hold it up as you are walking, or hang it from a tree. .
While not as strong, it is a battery-free and cord-free solution which means it is best suited for camping or for use on an outdoor patio away from electricity.
This unit is not as powerful as other units, especially other lanterns for camping and other bug zappers that plug in.
Due to the fact that it is solar powered, you are at a severe loss if you are in an area where there is no sun or where there is cloud cover for the day. If you are unable to charge the unit, you are unable to use it.
Without any alternative method of powering it, like an area for batteries, then it is no use to you in such cases. This means, too, that areas with bad weather or regular cloud cover will not benefit from its solar power and might be better off with a battery or cord powered device.
Zap Lantern runs on solar power which is uses to emit an ultra violet light that attracts bugs, then zaps them on the electric grid. Users need only flip on the switch to convert the unit to a bug zapper or bright, LED lantern. So, to use it, you are required to charge it during the day in the sun and then turn it on when you want to use it.
Solar Buzzkill is a solar-powered bug zapper that users are able to bring with them indoors or outdoors. Small in size, it relies on solar energy so it too has no wires or plugs.
This feature enables consumers to use it all around their home or take it with them on the go. It is free from any chemicals which makes it safer than traditional bug zappers or bug repellant sprays.
The clean up from the dead bugs is hygienic. You can take it with you anywhere you travel and just rely upon the on / off switch for simple use. To use it, you have to charge the solar panel during the day and then turn it on and place it where you want to use it. There are suction cups that let you stick it anywhere but stucco, which keeps your hands free and still removes most pests.
The mounting of the suction cups, however, will start to diminish in quality with regular use. Degradation happens with time which means that without a mounting hole or handle, you cannot rely upon it for regular long term use. Size wise it is rather small, so not a large shield but better for individual use.
The Fend insect trap is a plug in device that offers 24 / 7 protection, no chemicals, no sounds, no odors, and successfully traps flying insects. Fend is meant to plug directly into the wall and then emit a light which attracts flying insects. When the bugs are drawn to the unit they stick to the adhesive in much the same way as fly paper causes insects to stick. Once the trap becomes full it can just be thrown away and a new one put in its place.
That said, Fend is unique because of its combination of adhesive paper and the soft glow. Other zappers are often loud and they leave the dead bugs on the ground while plug ins are usually ultrasonic and have yet to be proven effective.
The look of this unit is more aesthetically pleasing compared to other units, and some people might believe falsely that it is an air freshener unless they get a really good look at it. There are only two disposable cartridges that come with this purchase and refilling is difficult and expensive. Ants and roaches will go unscathed by this unit, as it is only designed to target flying bugs. .
The Light Bulb Bug Zapper is a light that doubles as a zapper for insects. It has an LED which installs the same as a normal light bulb and lasts 50,000 hours. For indoor and outdoor use, this bulb will zap the bugs once they land on it.
Such a design utilizes a traditional bug zapper concept but takes it a step further by alleviate the extension cord and replacing it with the ability to plug into any socket.
Due to the fact that it draws flying insects with the light, it won’t work on anything like spiders or ants.
This unit is better for flies or moths. After the bug is zapped, the bulb emits a slight smell, much the same as all other zappers. This zapper is a cheaper version of traditional zappers, easy enough to take with you as you travel or go on vacation. .

I ordered a pair of Zap Lanterns before 4-26-17 and have not received them yet. I've also sent 5 emails to Zap Lantern and have gotten no response from them. So far I have been scammed. Until I read something from them or get the lanterns in the mail I advise no one order the Zap Lantern.
