Yummy Can Bacon is a red-and-white plastic device that's been designed to help you quickly and evenly cook bacon in your microwave without making a mess. The device will hold eight standard-sized strips of bacon, and its vertical holding rack has been crafted so that it can keep the strips separate instead of allowing them to stick together. Each device's compact, domelike design is also splatter-proof, and all three pieces of each one are dishwasher safe.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Add Strips to Rack

To start using your Yummy Can Bacon device, pull off the red, domelike cover to reveal a vertical hanging rack underneath. Drape uncooked strips of bacon from the rack as if you were hanging towels from a clothesline without using clothespins. Each section of the rack has been designed to hold one strip of bacon, although you may be able to fit two on each if you want to cook a double batch. Besides completely uncooked bacon, you'll also be able to hang strips of precooked bacon that need to be warmed up from this type of rack.

  2. Cook in Microwave

Next, add the red dome back to your device, thereby covering up the vertical rack, and place the entire device in your microwave. If you know how long it usually takes you to cook eight strips of bacon in that same microwave, punch in that time. Otherwise, try cooking your eight strips for two minutes. When your microwave beeps, pull up the red dome to check your bacon's progress, and if it's not crispy enough, cook it for a little longer.

  3. Remove Bacon Strips

Once your bacon is crispy enough, take your device out of your microwave and place it on a table or countertop. Remove the red cover, and then remove all the cooked strips of bacon from the vertical rack with your fingers or a utensil. Be careful if you touch them with your fingers, as they may be very hot. Move all the bacon strips to a serving plate or dish so you can eat them as they are or add them to other dishes.

  4. Drain Grease

With all of your cooked strips of bacon off your vertical rack, it'll be time to drain any excess grease your device has collected. All of this grease will be in the device's white base, so you'll need to detach it from the rest of the device and pour the grease down your sink or into another container. If you save it, you may find a use for it when performing other cooking tasks.

How It Works

If you cook strips of bacon in an ordinary bowl or on an ordinary plate in your microwave, the pieces might get stuck together. Plus, heat may not circulate evenly throughout the bowl or plate, resulting in some soggy pieces and some pieces that are almost burnt. Fortunately, if you use a Yummy Can Bacon to do the same thing, the device's domelike shape will circulate hot air by the process of convection. This, in turn, will cause each strip of bacon to be cooked both quickly and evenly, while the device's vertical rack stops the pieces from sticking to each other. That means you'll end up with eight separate and attractive pieces of bacon that will look and taste equally good.

Features

  • Compact Size

Each Yummy Can Bacon device is compact and will fit in almost any microwave oven without bumping against the top. All of these convection tools are also lightweight enough to be carried around a kitchen by virtually anyone, even when filled with bacon. When you're not using yours, it'll take up about the same amount of space in one of your cabinets as a large soup thermos would. One of these can be used to store leftover pieces of bacon in a refrigerator, too.

  • Splatter-Proof Design

If you cook bacon with a frying pan on your stove, or you use a dish without a cover to cook bacon in your microwave, grease may splatter everywhere. Logically speaking, this will likely leave you with a lot of cleaning to do. On the other hand, if you use a Yummy Can Bacon to cook bacon for yourself or your household, its splatter-proof design will stop grease from escaping the device. Instead, grease will drip down into the device's base and stay there until you pour it out.

  • Dishwasher Safe

This convection device is dishwasher safe, but you must detach all three pieces (white base, white top, and red dome) from each other before loading them into your dishwasher. Those users without a dishwasher can hand-wash each piece with soap and water, and then dry them with a towel or leave them to air-dry.

Positive Points

  • Cooks All Types of Bacon

When you use this device to cook bacon, you won't be limited to traditional, pork-based bacon. You'll also be able to use it to cook turkey bacon, tofu bacon, or any other kind of bacon that you can find. With this wide variety of options, you probably won't tire of bacon as quickly as you would otherwise, and you may want to use your device at almost every meal. If you do get tired of eating whole strips of bacon, you can always add it as a topping to salads, sandwiches, burgers, casseroles, and more.

  • Promotes Healthy Eating

As mentioned above, your Yummy Can Bacon device will collect excess grease in its base as your bacon cooks. If you were to use a different type of device to cook your bacon, you'd end up consuming some of that grease as part of your meals, as it would remain stuck to your strips. Therefore, you'll be engaging in healthier eating practices just by taking advantage of your Yummy Can Bacon's qualities, as grease typically contains a lot of fat and calories. You may find this piece of kitchenware especially helpful if you're trying to shrink your waistline.

Negative Points

  • Not Ideal for Big Groups

Sinch each convection device will only hold eight (or possibly sixteen, if small) strips of bacon, it's ideal for someone who's cooking for small groups, but not for large groups. If you're cooking a huge amount of bacon for a dozen or more people, you'll be better off with another device, unless you don't mind loading this one and microwaving it a multitude of times.

Warnings

  • Only Use in Microwave

This device has been made for use in microwave ovens only, so you should never use it to cook bacon or any other food in your oven or on your stovetop. In fact, if you were to do so, the plastic would likely melt.
