Once you have a Wondercise wristband, you must download the corresponding Wondercise app onto your Apple or Android smartphone. This is what will give you access to yoga classes, aerobics sessions, HIIT workouts and more—all in instructor-led video form. In order to project these fitness videos onto a television screen and fully engage with them, you'll need to hook your phone up to a television and access your chosen videos with the app. If you've opted to get the full offer, your app will provide you with so many different videos that you may not have to do the same workout more than once or twice per year.
This wristband comes in four different color combinations, including silver / black, rose / black, smoke / black and rose / white. If you often wear workout clothing in certain shades, or you already have some exercise equipment (like a Yoga mat or dumbbells) in a certain color, this might help dictate your choice. In the event that everyone in your household decides to get one of these wristbands, you might also choose to get them in different colors so everyone will know whose is whose.
Each Wondercise band is water and dust resistant, which means that each one will be unlikely to incur damage due to water or start looking unattractive due to accumulating excessive amounts of dust. This type of device is actually classified as an IP67 item, which means that you can expect it to survive being dropped into water that's up to a meter deep for 30 minutes.
This particular wristband looks sleek and sophisticated and has been designed to feel comfortable against the wrist. Therefore, it'll likely look nice with virtually anything you might choose to wear, and even if you wear it for hours, it probably won't irritate you in any way.
With the app that goes with these wristbands, you won't be limited to one type of exercise, such as strength training, yoga, or dance. Instead, even if you only sign up for the introductory videos, you'll still get a taste of an incredibly wide variety of classes. If you try one type of class and it doesn't suit your fancy, you can simply move on to the next, and you'll likely find at least a handful of videos you enjoy.
Aside from letting you access workouts on video, your Wondercise band will also track your movement during those workouts and provide you with a score at the end of each one. Plus, it has the ability to track other bodily activity, such as your heart rate, your sleep patterns, and the distance you travel on foot.
Gaining access to such a wide variety of workouts through this wristband will likely cause your activity level to increase, and increased activity will always make you burn more calories if your metabolism's running properly. As a result, if you're trying to lose weight by burning up more calories than you eat, this device will help you on that journey.
If you're not a fan of the gym, or you don't like the travel required to get there, starting a Wondercise program will allow you to get fit without going into a gym at all. In fact, you'll be able to view your videos on any television, as long as you can connect your phone to it, so you won't be restricted to exercising only at home. If you've got a suitable television to use at work or in a hotel room, you'll be able to transport your fitness routine there.
You might want to use your Wondercise videos to get fit alone, and that's perfectly fine, but if you're a sociable person, you might also have fun working out with friends. As long as one of you has the Wondercise app and a working television to connect it to, you'll have all you need, even if everyone in the group doesn't have their own wristband. However, the people without wristbands, should there be any, won't be able to track their progress in the way that those with wristbands will be able to.
Due to its idle alert function, this wristband will literally motivate you to move more. While you're wearing it, if it senses that you've been idle for too long, it'll send you a signal to engage in some movement again. If you've got a tendency to be a couch potato, this recurring signal may help you tremendously with living a more active lifestyle. Even if you just take a walk around your home, that still counts as a period of activity!
To continue accessing the full gamut of Wondercise videos, you must subscribe to the service every year. There's no way to save the videos unless you do so. If you forget to subscribe again the next year, the only videos you'll be able to use are the introductory and warm-up ones, until you obtain a new subscription.
In order to use the Wondercise program properly, you'll need a television screen to project your videos onto and a smartphone that will accommodate the app. If you don't have a television, you could try to watch the program's exercise videos on your phone's screen, but the small picture might be difficult to follow. Furthermore, if you don't have a compatible Apple or Android phone—perhaps you have a Windows Phone or a cell phone that's not "smart" instead—you won't be able to download the app at all.
There is no equipment included with each wristband, so if you need equipment such as a yoga mat or hand weights to complete a particular class, you'll need to get those things on your own. You could attempt to do the exercises without all the equipment the teacher on the video is using, but this might interfere with your safety and will most likely interfere with your performance.
