To begin using your Windshield Doctor, you'll need to place the small yellow device over the crack, chip or scratch that you want to repair. The center of the device should be as close to the center of the crack as possible. Once you've placed it there, the device's four suction cups will hold it in place, and then you'll be able to turn its stem to the right to completely secure it.
After your device is attached to your windshield over the offending crack, grab the included bottle and squeeze some of the bonding agents out of it and into the top of the device's stem. The bonding agent is made of clear resin that will seep into the crack and adapt to the exact shape and color of your windshield's glass, so the repair you make will blend in seamlessly.
Once you've applied the bonding agent, just sit back and watch as the crack, chip or scratch you're repairing gradually disappears over the course of a few minutes. You should not be able to tell the difference between the repaired area of your windshield and the rest of it after the repair is done. At that point, you can gently pull your Windshield Doctor off your windshield and get ready to drive again.
Both the Windshield Doctor itself and the bottle of bonding agent are compact, so you'll be able to fit them in a bag or in the glove compartment of your car without difficulty. If your windshield happens to develop a crack while you're on the road, you can simply pull both things out and get to work repairing the glass—on the side of the road, if need be.
While exactly how many repairs you'll be able to do with one bottle of bonding agent will depend on the size of the repairs, you'll be able to complete at least two with one bottle. Therefore, this compact device won't become a use-once-and-throw-away tool for you.
With each Windshield Doctor set, you'll also get a wipe that you can run across old and/or dirty headlights to make them look like they're new again.
This windshield repair tool hasn't been designed for a specific shape or size of a windshield, or even windshields that are part of a particular brand of vehicle. Instead, it'll work with the same effect on all windshields, regardless of whether yours is part of a car, a truck, a van or some other kind of vehicle.
Besides windshields, you'll also be able to use your Windshield Doctor set to repair cracks, chips, and scratches on household windows, as long as they're made out of glass. Each piece of the set is so compact that it won't take up much space in any room, and you'll likely be able to carry both up a ladder at once, if necessary. You'll even be able to use this repair kit on the windows of a glass shower if they happen to incur some minor damage.
For users who perform frequent repairs on their windshield or other glass surfaces, it'd be helpful if a larger bottle of clear resin was available, but unfortunately, that's not an option. That means it'll be necessary for some users to replace their bottle of resin on a regular basis, such as every few weeks, which could get annoying over time. What's more, since the resin and the Windshield Doctor device come as a duo, it may be difficult to get one without the other, so some people might end up with extra, unneeded devices.
If you were to have a cracked windshield repaired by a professional at their location, you could find yourself without your car for a few hours or even a day. That won't be the case once you start using Windshield Doctor, though, as it'll enable you to complete almost any repair in minutes.
Some people who end up with a damaged windshield just decide to replace the entire thing, but if you know how to use Windshield Doctor, you probably won't have to. Unless your entire windshield is smashed into thousands of pieces, you'll likely be able to fix whatever's wrong with it with this repair kit and your two hands. Moreover, if you use this kit, one windshield will likely last for the entire lifetime of your vehicle.
You may be tempted to use some other type of resin with your Windshield Doctor, but you'll get the best results possible by using the one that comes with it. If you use another type, it may not blend in seamlessly with the color and shape of your windshield's glass (or your window's glass), and the repaired area may be obvious to the eye.
