White Light System is a teeth whitening system that allegedly whitens your teeth in just ten minutes. With a brighter, whiter smile you can enjoy more confidence, smile with ease, and take photos without embarrassment. This product combines into a single mouthpiece which you hold in place for the ten minutes it purportedly takes to whiten your teeth. Saving you time and money, this single unit reduces the normal teeth whitening time by a significant amount.
The cost of White Light System is $19.99 and the shipping is FREE! This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at getwhitelight.com; however, the company has since ceased selling White Light System and has taken down the website. White Light System may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
This teeth whitening kit gives you better confidence, a brighter smile, and it is fast and simple to use. You need only ten minutes.
Unfortunately, this design does not work very well. In spite of its ten minute claim, the results do not bode well for its success.
Discoloration on your teeth happens when the surface layer of the teeth, called the enamel, is thinned. This exposes the dentin underneath. Your dentin is naturally a yellow tint, but with time, things like food stains, coffee stains, or cigarette stains can seek into the cracks and make the dentin an even darker yellow. When you brush your teeth it removes plaque and dirt from your enamel, but this will not remove the discoloration from the dentin.
Teeth whitening, however, can use peroxide to react with the enamel. In doing so, it releases oxygen which oxidizes the pigments in your dentin, giving teeth a white appearance. Teeth whitening, either at home or with a dentist, is not permanent. Instead it lasts typically for four months to one year. Results achieved from all manner of teeth whitening options is contingent upon how stained your teeth are to begin with, the strength of the whitening agents you use, and how well you use it. Most people tend to get only three shades lighter, on average, than what they had at the start.
There are literally dozens of teeth whitening systems on the market today of all shapes, sizes, and types. Most of them either use a gel and light system or strips. These are the best suited for at-home care. That being said, the strips take decidedly longer than most whitening systems, between 14 and 7 days. The reason for this is because the amount of bleaching agent has to be diluted for at home care, for safety reasons. When you go to a dentist for professional treatment it is done faster because they can monitor the amount used and used higher amounts.
Having said that, the gel and light mixtures are faster than strips because they use the LED lights to expedite the whitening process. By expediting the oxidation process the teeth allegedly get whiter, faster. White Light is different than other gel/light options because it claims to be done in just ten minutes. Even the fastest of at home products that use the same light/gel combination can only claim to be done in twenty minutes.
Laser teeth whitening is a professional dental procedure that whitens teeth with stronger peroxide gels than you can find in stores. It takes only a short session or two to complete, but it does cost quite a bit. With this procedure, you visit your dentist and get abnormally white teeth as an immediate after effect, because the laser dries out your teeth. During your session the gel will be applied to your teeth and a laser shone on the teeth to produce heat and bleach the teeth using the oxidation process.
Dentists are able to use stronger whitening gel that breaks apart bonds between your teeth stains. The laser used activates the gel so that the oxygen can penetrate to the dentin. Complete sessions take about one hour, but you only have to do it two or three times based on your needs.
Home whitening is something you do without a dentist. The cost is significantly lower but it does take longer because the amount of peroxide is lower. There are whitening kits like this one, which use flexible teeth trays so that you can easily apply the whitening gel. LED lights accompany the trays, fulfilling the same function as the lasers used by dentists. Whitening pens are pens with the bleaching gel inside.
You just color your teeth and leave it on long enough to bleach your teeth. Whitening strips are simple to apply, but you have to leave them on for a long time. They are the most popular at home whitening mechanism.
Apply the gel to the inside of the mouthpiece, then hold it against your teeth. Hold it in place for ten minutes.
In theory, the use of this teeth whitening agent saves you a great deal of time because it is something you can do at home for only ten minutes. Most of the time, the teeth whitening is something you do either at a dentist office or at home, but at home you are not really able to do much else. Strips prevent you from talking, eating, or much else. The teeth whitening gels and lights inhibit the same. However, if you only need ten minutes, then you have a lot more free time.
Theoretically, this device saves you a great deal of money too because it is significantly cheaper than professional dental whitening. It is also on par with other gel / laser light combinations in terms of cost.
It is important to understand that as with any and all teeth whitening, you are using peroxide, or a bleaching element. You need to be aware that in some case you could have negative results.
There is a chance that the use of peroxide will irritate your gums or make your teeth more sensitive. This likelihood is exacerbated if you use teeth whitening kits often or if the kits you use have high percentages of peroxide in them. Inflammation can take place in your gums if they have been irritated. This will go down, but you need to be aware of it.
When you use kits that contain the teeth trays, not all trays will fit your mouth perfectly. So there is a higher chance that the whitening agents won’t cover your teeth properly or your gums might become inflamed. Normally you can alleviate this by paying the extra money to get a custom fit from your dentist, which you can use repeatedly each time you whiten your teeth. However, this unit all fits together as one mouth piece so you do not have that option here.
