The Whirly Ball lights up with the power source located on the inside. There is no remote control needed. You act as the remote, controlling the movement of the ball. The ball relies upon smart infrared sensor induction suspension technology so that it can remain floating in the air.
The company offers examples of fun games that you can play with it, namely the Hover hacky sac or the Side step snitch. Both are meant as examples where you use the special suspension technology to lightly touch the bottom part of the ball. Alternatively, you can get your body close enough to it that the ball re-hovers in the air. Upon contact, it will launch away from the source, back up into the air. This means you can play a fun game of light-filled hacky sac where you bounce the ball up and up into the air.

My son absolutely loved the whirlyball it was his favorite Christmas gift the 1st one lasted a day before we had to replace it the 2nd one lasted a week hoping we can replace that one as well.
