Vidalia Chop Wizard is a new food chopping unit recommended by Readers Digest, and Good Housekeeping. With positive reviews across the multiple outlets where it is sold in stores and online, this unit claims to chop food preparation time in half. Users can place their fruits and vegetables or even boiled eggs on top of the blades and press down. In no time the foods are chopped, diced, or cut into easily consumed cubes or strips.
The cost of Vidalia Chop Wizard is $19.95 plus $7.95 shipping, for a total price of $27.9. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at vidaliachopwizard.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Vidalia Chop Wizard and has taken down the website. Vidalia Chop Wizard may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
The blade is made from stainless steel.
It is purported that using this tool will reduce your kitchen food preparation time by fifty percent.
It is easy to use and safe.
You get the bonus fine dicer blade for smaller dicing at literally no extra cost, not even shipping.
You can put the blade and chopping components into the dishwasher easily to make clean up a breeze.
This unit makes it safer to prepare foods at home. Rather than risk accidental nicks and cuts when using large chopping knives and multiple wet things like juicy pears or ripe tomatoes, customers can safely use this. At no point does the customer touch the blade. In fact, the blade is completely covered by the full frame which means that touching the unit or holding it from the outside is still safe and free from blade contact.
The attachment tray at the bottom of the blade keeps the mess limited by catching all of the foods you chop. What’s more, you can turn the unit on its side and use the tray as a measuring device to ensure you have the amount of food you need. This makes recipes easier to follow when they call for things like one cup of chopped tomatoes or one half cup of diced onion. Now customers can actually verify at what point they have reached the required quantities.
You can order this item on Amazon, find it at places like Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and more. The wide availability means that you can enjoy it without having to purchase it online through their website, where the shipping and handling charges are higher and the delivery times are longer.
Almost all of the reviews on all sites where this is sold are positive. The most resounding comments are praises of effectiveness and efficiency. Positive reviews state that this works quite well chopping onions and is especially useful for shorter food preparation. Customer service seems positive too. The reviews about assistance provided are good. Website information is thorough and emphasizes a commitment to good customer service by way of an email address in addition to online tracking for orders which can be accessed at any time.
When you place your order online the company includes the bonus gift of the fine dicer blade for free, and rare as this is they do not charge extra shipping and handling for it. This means that you only pay twenty dollars for the chop wizard and the additional blade, with another eight in shipping and handling.
While this product works well, and is not very misleading, there is one thing that should be highlighted. Customers can use it for things like crisp apples or hard celery, but the images depicted on the website and in the videos show that these items cannot be used whole. Round fruits and vegetables like onions or apples are best cut in half before the flat side is placed down on the blade. Longer things like carrots and celery still have to be cut too into smaller three or two inch sections before they can be placed on the blade.
Not a huge inconvenience, but still something that is not really advertised. Customers should be made aware that while cutting and dicing is reduced, it is not done away with entirely.
There are different blade inserts that go in the top. Much the same way as any egg chopper or mushroom chopper this new device is meant to chop your foods both hard and soft to the shape and size of your liking. The website claims that all you need do is put the food item you want chopped on top of the blade insert and press down. Once you press down the stainless steel blades easily chop the pieces and drop the contents into the tray attached to the bottom. The tray can be detached and the contents used for whatever purpose.
Apples, when cut in half, can be put on the blade and sliced finely alongside pears and other fruits for fruit salad. Eggs and fresh celery pieces can be cut and diced for egg salad. Fresh tomatoes, onions, and peppers can be converted into chunky salsa. Stir fry can be made in no time when all of the mixed vegetables are diced or sliced into the same tray and then tossed onto the frying pan. .
Surpahs Multi Vegetable Chopper, Cutter, Slicer, and Dicer is similar insofar as it has the same attachments which can be changed for different results. It is grey, while the Vidalia is green. This unit costs the same amount if you order Vidalia from the website. The box into which the shopping pieces fall is half the length though. You can order this alternative online from the same places. .
Freshware has a four in one onion chopper, vegetable slicer, fruit and cheese cutter. Said unit comes with a storage container lid so that if you are not ready to prepare the foods right now, you can save them for later. This is great for things like cubed cheeses or for fruit salads. It weighs the same as Vidalia and is also made out of plastic. Comparably it is also shorter with a smaller storage area. This alternative can be ordered online too.
Prepworks is designed to make fruit and vegetable preparation simple. It is white with different inserts to make food preparation easier. Made of plastic, it is also the same size as Vidalia. You can order this option online the same.

Bought this year's ago and love it. The only thing I didn't like was is a pain to clean, especially when cutting or dicing good with skins ( tomatoes etc ). The blades are very sharp so I used a knife or something to get all the remnants out of the chopper / dicer.
