How It Works

The Tupperware Bread Saver combines a curved design, a perforated lid, and a ribbed base to create an ideal environment for keeping bread fresh and mold-free. Perhaps most significantly, the curved walls of the device will push air toward the perforated lid so it can circulate in and out of the lid effectively. Meanwhile, the device's ribbed base will provide ventilation under the bread so it doesn't become too moist. With this ventilation and airflow, any bread inside will have little chance to grow moldy like bread that's sealed tightly in a plastic bag or another container could.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Place Bread Saver On Counter

You'll have to place your bread-saving device on a flat surface, such as your kitchen counter, before adding bread to its inner compartment. Alternatively, you could sit it on a table.

  2. Adjust Separator

Each container comes with a separator that can be moved back and forth, so you'll have to choose where to leave yours based on the shape and size of the bread you'll be storing inside. You could place it in the middle if you're going to be storing two medium-sized loaves in the container, or slide it closer to one side to accommodate a larger loaf and a smaller one.

  3. Add Bread

Once your separator is resting in the desired place, add your chosen bread products to your Tupperware Bread Saver and then put the black lid on top. Besides loaves of bread, you can also add other bread products, like baguettes or muffins, to this type of container.

  4. Enjoy Fresh Bread Products

If your lid's securely attached to the body of your bread-saving device, you should be able to open it up and enjoy fresh, soft bread products that are free of mold whenever you'd like to. Once you're done removing the bread, remember to return the lid to the top of the container quickly to preserve the freshness and flavor of any remaining bread inside.

Features

  • Black And White

Every Tupperware Bread Saver has a white body and a black perforated lid. This combination of bold shades will complement the decor in most kitchens, including kitchens in which the majority of the appliances are made of stainless steel.

  • Portable

Due to its rectangular shape, the majority of users will be able to carry this type of container from place to place around the home with two hands or under one arm. You can also use one of these containers to transport bread away from your home in a vehicle, without being concerned that the bread will dry out or get soggy during the drive. Plus, you won't have to worry about it spilling in your car, either, as your container's black lid will be capable of covering it securely.

  • Generous Size

The standard size of each Tupperware Bread Saver will hold one large loaf of bread or two small ones. If its size doesn't meet the needs of your household, you can get the extra-large version in order to store three times the amount of bread. Aside from holding more bread, the extra-large version will also accommodate odd-sized loaves of bread or bread products more effectively than the standard version.

  • BPA Free

This piece of kitchenware is free of a chemical compound known as BPA, which can potentially harm humans (or animals) if it's ingested. While this chemical compound is still found in some plastic products these days, you won't be exposing yourself or your loved ones to its possible toxicity by using the Tupperware Bread Saver.

Positive Points

  • Takes Up Little Space

Even the extra-large version of this device won't take up a whole lot of space on your countertop, in a kitchen cupboard, or wherever you choose to store it when it's not in use. Since it has a flat base and a flat top, you'll be able to stack it on top of other similarly sized objects or stack other objects on top of it if you need to. If you decide to get multiple bread-saving devices in the standard or extra-large size, you can create a stack of them on your counter so your bread's always ready at hand.

  • Reduces Need For Freezing

Without a container like this one to store it in, bread can go bad in as little as a week. With that in mind, you might be tempted to store bread in your freezer, but this isn't an ideal solution, as it might come out tasting dry and offering little flavor. On the other hand, if you were to get a Tupperware Bread Saver and place the bread inside for storage, any loaf would likely retain its flavor and softness for much longer than a week.

  • Minimizes Condensation

Besides keeping different types of bread separated within the same container, so the flavors don't mix, this device's built-in separator will serve the purpose of minimizing condensation. While a lot of people don't like dry bread, bread that gets too moist inside a container due to a buildup of condensation also may not taste good. Fortunately, by minimizing the condensation level inside, this container's separator will keep your bread's moisture level in an ideal state.

Negative Points

  • Not Dishwasher Safe

This container isn't dishwasher safe, which means you'll have to wash each one out by hand when you think it's time. Since it should only be holding bread products, and not dairy products or meat, you may only need to wash it out every few weeks. You should wash it sooner, though, if you notice any crumbs or non-bread ingredients (like fruit or nuts) sticking to its inner exterior.

Save Money

Households that don't have a Tupperware Bread Saver might end up throwing out multiple loaves of bread every few weeks—especially if there are picky eaters around—because it just doesn't taste right. Luckily, if you do obtain one of these containers, your bread will likely taste as soft, fresh, and flavorful as it did the day you bought it for a week or longer. That means you won't have to toss nearly as much bread (if any at all) into your trash receptacle.

Tupperware Single Loaf Breadsaver

1. I tried storing two different flavors of fresh "loaf cake" (single slices) in a single loaf-size Tupperware Bread Saver container.
2. Placed lid on flat.
3. Cake was hard and dried out after 3 days.
Question: Do I need to remove the "white paper seal" covering the vent holes on the inside of the lid?
