Tug N Tear

Tug N Tear is a toy for dogs that your dog can have fun pulling the arms and legs off of. When they're done, you'll be able to reattach each limb again in seconds, which will make the toy seem totally new. These toys come in sets of two, which all include a stuffed chicken and a stuffed pig. All dogs can play with these toys, regardless of their age or size, and having them around will help deter any dog from destroying shoes and other objects around your home.

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of Tug N Tear is $19.99 plus $4.99 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Tug N Tear at the discounted price of only $4.99 for a total price of $29.97.

How It Works

The arms and legs of each dog toy are attached to the body of the toy with industrial strength hook and loop fasteners. According to test results, even though dogs will be able to pull off the arms and legs, they won't be able to destroy these durable fasteners. Therefore, once your dog is finished playing, you'll be able to hook each torn-off limb back onto the corresponding toy's body by pressing it against the appropriate socket on the body. The limb and the body will then cling together like Velcro on shoes or clothing.

  • Make Squeaking Noises

All four limbs that are attached to each toy have built-in mechanisms that will make squeaking noises as your dogs pull the limbs off. Dogs tend to enjoy this sound, so hearing it will make them have even more fun with one of these toys than they otherwise would. They may even be motivated to tear off a toy's limbs again and again just to hear the squeak of what they believe is their prey.

  • Soft Yet Strong

Each Tug N Tear toy is made of durable reinforced fabric that's soft yet strong, and the stuffing-free mesh interior of each one has the same qualities. As a result, each toy will feel soft and plush in your dog's mouth, but at the same time, it won't be so soft that it'll get damaged easily.

  • Large Parts

The parts that make up each toy are large enough that no dog, including an incredibly huge dog, will be able to swallow them by accident. However, they're not so large that small dogs and puppies will find them difficult to chew on.

  • Washing Machine, Dryer Safe

It's safe to wash any of these toys in your washing machine, and then run them through the dryer, as this won't damage the toys or interfere with their usefulness. They'll probably need at least an occasional wash and dry if your dog frequently drools all over theirs or happens to get food, outdoor dirt or waste on it.

  • Two Toys Per Set

You'll get two toys per each set of Tug N Tear toys, so if you have two dogs, this will reduce the chance that they'll often fight over one. If you've got just one dog, you might want to keep one toy upstairs and one downstairs or keep one in your vehicle and one in the house. Keep in mind that your dog may show a preference for one toy over the other, based on its color or other details related to its appearance.

Positive Points

  • Won't Mess Up Home

If your dog plays with toys filled with stuffing and tears the stuffing out, this will make a mess of your home (or perhaps your yard). The dog may also find a particular toy useless once they've ripped out all the stuffing. You won't have any stuffing to clean up if your dog plays with a Tug N Tear, though, as none of these toys contain an ounce of it. The only things you'll need to pick up are any limbs that the dog has ripped off their toy, and those can be put right back on.

  • Entertain Dogs Safely

Dogs that don't have enough satisfying toys to play with may decide to chew on your shoes, chew up the furniture or even take their teeth to books and magazines lying around your house. Not only is this not safe for the dog, since they might ingest something harmful, but it's also not safe for your household objects since they could get damaged beyond repair. Fortunately, once your dog has a couple of Tug N Tear toys, these will occupy and entertain them for up to hours at a time without putting them (or anything else) at risk.

  • Use Over and Over

There's no limit as to how many times these toys can be used in a day or throughout your dog's lifetime. If your dog wants to rip the arms and legs off their toy pig 50 times a day, and you're fine with putting the limbs back on that many times, that's totally acceptable. After the limbs are reattached, your dog might even see the toy as fresh new prey to attack each time.

  • For All Dogs

Some popular dog toys are suitable for smaller dogs, and others for larger. Along the same lines, some are customized for puppies and some quieter toys have been designed for senior dogs. Luckily, this isn't the case with Tug N Tear toys—all dogs can have fun with them, although the level of energy they put into their play may differ depending on age and physical make-up.

Negative Points

  • Can't Eliminate Sounds

There's no way to stop the limbs of these toys from squeaking unless you were to somehow open each toy up and pull out the squeaking mechanisms. If your dog is playing with one of these toys, that means you'll have to hear squeaking sounds, even if you're trying to read, watch television or sleep. In the event that the sounds disturb your sleep, you'll either have to annoy your dog by putting their Tug N Tear toys away at night or put up with being awakened.

  • May Frustrate Cats

If you've got cats in your home along with dogs, the cats might try to play with the Tug N Tear toys, and they might be attracted to their squeaking noises, too. Unfortunately, their teeth may not be strong enough to rip the limbs off these toys like dogs do, and this may frustrate the cats. Dogs might also get too rough for cats' liking if both your canines and felines decide to play with these toys together.

Save Money

Instead of getting your dog new toys that are filled with traditional stuffing, and having the dog rip each toy apart and destroy it in days, Tug N Tear toys are a more economical choice. While you might have to replace a stuffing-filled toy each week, each Tug N Tear toy will likely last for years without being torn up enough to throw out. Therefore, fewer trips to the pet store or the pet department of a big-box store will be part of your future.
