Topsyturvy is a compact hanging device that you can use to grow tomatoes virtually anywhere outdoors if you don't have the time or the desire to plant and take care of an entire garden. This device takes only minutes to set up, and once you've done that, all you'll need to do is water the plant within for a few minutes per day. With each Topsyturvy, you'll also get a recipe book containing suggestions of ways you can put your homegrown tomatoes to use.
The cost of Topsyturvy is $14.99 plus $4.99 shipping, for a total price of $19.98.
Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: topsyturvy.com
Before you get started with your first Topsyturvy, you'll need to obtain a tomato plant that you'd like to grow to its full size within the device.
Once you've obtained a plant, insert it through the hole that you'll find on the bottom of your Topsyturvy. If you're not sure which is the bottom and which is the top, the bottom is the end with the smaller hole.
After you've inserted your tomato plant in your device, fill it up with potting soil, this time filling it through the hole in the top. You can use ordinary potting soil to complete this step, as no special kind is required.
Once your planter is full of potting soil, you'll be able to use its hook to hang it virtually anywhere you choose, such as on your deck, on your patio, or on your balcony. Ensure that you hang it with the tomato plant facing down, and give it at least one drink every day.
Tomatoes are able to be grown effectively within a Topsyturvy due to the heat from the sun and the principles of gravity. When this device is exposed to the sun, the tomato plant within heats up as if it's in a greenhouse, and its roots explode, leading the plant to flourish. After the plant is watered, gravity pulls the water and nutrients from the potting soil down through the device and to the plant's roots. The roots then feast on this fuel, leading the plant to grow bigger. Gravity also makes a plant within a Topsyturvy grow vertically toward the ground, as opposed to horizontally or in circles.
Each Topsyturvy is fairly small and lightweight, so you'll be able to carry it from place to place without difficulty, if need be. As long as it's outdoors and has regular access to sun and water, moving it should not interfere with the growth of the plant inside.
Each device has a swivel top, so you'll be able to turn it and examine your growing tomato plants from various angles.
The material used to make each Topsyturvy is durable and resistant to damage from the sun, so yours will likely continue to work effectively and look attractive for at least a few years' time.
Besides a recipe guide, each device also comes with a kitchen slicer that you can use to slice the tomatoes you've grown.
The tomatoes you grow within this planter will grow quickly, so quickly that they may be ready up to four weeks earlier than tomatoes grown in a garden normally would be.
If you'd like to grow cucumbers, green peppers, and / or zucchini, you'll be able to use one of these planters to grow these, too.
Planting and weeding a garden can be hard on the body, especially if you aren't in the best physical shape or work a demanding job outside the home. Fortunately, when you use a Topsyturvy to grow vegetables instead, you'll only need to move your arms to do so, and you won't need to bend over.
