Guide for Hot and Cold Therapy

  • Definition

It is advisable to start hot and cold therapy as soon as an injury is sustained. Hot and old therapy or cryotherapy helps to minimize blood flow to affected organs and tissues of the body to reduce pain caused by injuries. Administering the therapy involves cooling the injured area and then treating it with heat to encourage blood flow once the swelling has diminished.

  • Cryotherapy

While hot and cold therapy may sound counter-productive because it slows down blood flow before speeding it up again, it is quite useful in pain relief. Cryotherapy cleans injured tissues by ensuring that nutrient-rich fresh blood flows into affected areas of the body.

  • Simplicity

Hot and cold therapy is one of the most effective and less complicated treatment options for injuries. As the name suggests, the two main requirements for the therapy to work are something hot and something cold.

Therma Comfort can be microwaved and frozen for cryotherapy. Once you have this product, applying hot and cold therapy is pretty straightforward.

How It Works

Find a comfortable place to sit and raise the affected area. Apply ice to the affected area and leave it on for as long as possible before switching to heat therapy for a minute or two.

Repeat the hot and cold heat treatment cycle three more times. Be sure to finish off with the cold therapy. For the best results, repeat the three-round cycle throughout the day.

Benefits of Cryotherapy

  • Usefulness

Hot treatment is often used to treat musculoskeletal injuries such as pulled muscles and joint pains. On the other hand, cold therapy is commonly used for impact-style injuries to minimize swelling and bleeding. Applying ice to the injured parts can help to reduce damage and stimulate tissue repair.

The main benefits of cryotherapy include fast pain relief, reduced inflammation, and joint stiffness, and quicker healing.

  • Separate Therapy

When using hot and cold therapy separately, consider using them for more extended periods than you would when using them at the same time. If you decide to use ice therapy, use it several times a day and be sure to keep the injured area elevated.

  • Length of Sessions

Cold therapy sessions can last 15 to 20 minutes. On the other hand heat therapy can be used for a more extended period. If you are using Therma Comfort, apply it in the injured area and leave it on for about 15 to 20 minutes or until it becomes cold.

Exceptions

Cryotherapy may not be useful in some instances, and it may be necessary to use one or the other. Heat therapy works by stimulating the circulation of blood to relieve pain and soothe muscles. There are many types of heat treatment you could try, including Therma Comfort, that can be applied to the injured area to release heat throughout the day.

However, hot therapy is not recommended if the injured area is bruised. In such a case, it is advisable to use cold therapy to minimize inflammation and joint pain. Cold treatment is often used to treat impact injuries such as blows and knocks. Therma Comfort can also be used for cold therapy.

Types of Heat and Cold Packs

  1. Gel-Based Packs

As the name suggests, these packs contain a soft gel that conducts heat or cold. You can use gel-based treatments as hot or cold packs. This means that you can use it as an ice pack during the initial stages of an injury and then, later on, use the same product as a heat pack to expedite healing.

  2. Instant Packs

These packs can be hot or cold. Instant packets contain liquid pouches that work by bursting. When the pouches burst, they react with the chemical inside to conduct heat or cold.

Buying Guide for Neck Wraps

  • Material

Consider buying hot and cold treatment packs that are made of comfortable materials. Some of the recommended materials for neck wraps are polyester and latex-free nylon. Therma Comfort is made of a soft and gentle fabric, which adds to its comfort.

  • Versatility

A good neck wrap should provide a wide range of benefits. Consider getting one that is suitable for both hot and cold therapy. This will soothe the neck and shoulders best. Be sure to choose a neck wrap that is ideal for soothing pain associated with bursitis, arthritis and sore muscles.

  • Price and Warranty

Apart from the versatility and comfortable material, consider the cost of the neck wrap. Choose the best neck wrap that is within your budget. Inquire about the products’ warranty and choose one that comes with 1-5 years warranty.

Conclusion

Therma Comfort neck wrap is designed to provide pain relief from injuries and musculoskeletal diseases. It is infused with clay beads to maximize relaxation. Also, the neck wrap is made of breathable, soft fabric that adds to its comfort. Even people with sensitive skin are likely not to experience any problems using the product. The item’s fabric is non-slip, which significantly minimizes the chances of it falling off. Its great design easily accommodates the natural contours of the neck and shoulders. This is one of the best products for hot and cold therapy because it is microwavable and freeze-able.

Scam for Returns!

I bought the 3 pack and gave 2 as gifts, kept 1 for myself. I tried using it several times and It did not do anything as advertised. Wanted to return just 1 and called customer service and the number to check the status was 23 numbers long; 23! I had to hit the repeat number 6 times to get it all down because it was too fast the first time etc. Then with my name and all other info it did not recognize my order. I think this company is a complete SCAM! And I will never buy from them again! BEWARE IT'S A SCAM!

Therma Comfort Busted

The Therma Comfort was busted upon the first time use. Made a big mess and was very difficult to clean up.
Contacted customer support and they refused to pay for shipping the items back. This is the catch, the cost associated with shipping the items back is expensive and does not worth the headache nor guarantees the full credit.
Not recommend to buy it.
