Features

  • Black Angus Steaks

The package included 5-ounce black Angus steaks which are aged for 28 days in a wet-aged process, for richer meat. Then the meat is taken from cattle that have been grass-fed and grain-finished. This produces a very tender, juicy steak.

The steaks are hand-trimmed so the fat has been removed before it gets to the customer. Finally, they are flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed because that keeps them as fresh as possible. Flash-frozen is a special process where they very rapidly freeze the meat.

  • Pork Chops

The package also includes 6-ounce pork chops which are drawn from domestic Duroc pork. They are hand-trimmed to remove the fat, and are supposed to be very juicy and tender. Each chop is flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed to preserve freshness.

  • Black Angus Smashed Burger

These are 4-ounce black Angus smashed burgers that come from domestically raised cattle. The cattle are free to roam and eat grass during their lives, and then they are grain-finished.

The burgers combine brisket, sirloin, and chuck beef. They undergo a special 'smashing' process which gives them their nicely rounded and homemade appearance. The burgers are flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed.

  • Chicken Breasts

This product includes 4-ounce chicken breasts which have almost no artificial ingredients. The chicken is hand-trimmed so the fat is removed before it gets to the customer. It's also flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed.

  • Mild Italian Sausages

Finally, there are 4-ounce minimally-processed mild Italian sausages. They are made from fresh cuts of 80% lean grain-fed pork. The sausages are also flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed.

Pros

  • Convenience

This service makes life much more convenient in terms of purchasing meat. It comes to your door instead of having to go out to the butcher. This is a big time-saver too.

  • No Carrying

This is a big advantage - no more having to carry heavy bags home, or to the car. Meat is really heavy, and this much meat, in particular, would be hard to maneuver.

  • Best Cuts

The package contains the best cuts of meat, selected and prepared for you without having to go to the butcher and hope for the best. This company guarantees the quality of the cuts they provide for customers.

  • They Trim the Fat

Before the meat gets to you each piece is individually hand-trimmed to remove the fat. That saves you the trouble of doing it yourself, a job which can be unpleasant and unappetizing.

  • Flash-Frozen

Each piece of meat goes through the process of being flash-frozen. This is a system where the meat is frozen very rapidly, in such a way that when it thaws it's like it's fresh. Then they are individually vacuum-sealed to even further preserve the freshness.

  • Minimal Processing

Much of this meat goes through minimal processing, especially the chicken and sausages. This means that they also use minimal in terms of artificial ingredients. It really is a health benefit, since the food quality is so much higher.

Cons

  • Scheduling the Drop Off

With this kind of delivery, you definitely have to be there to meet the delivery truck. They are not going to leave meat sitting at your doorstep, and it obviously couldn't keep fresh that way. It's inconvenient to have to schedule the drop-off and arrange to be home. It takes up your time when you could be elsewhere getting other things done.

  • Refrigeration During Transport

The items are flash-frozen and sealed, which is good, but what happens to them during transport? Are they kept frozen, and how long a time do they spend in-vehicle possibly not properly refrigerated? You don't have any of this information. The point is, there may be some loss of quality during the delivery process.

  • Extra Packaging

One of the issues with a service like this where each item is individually wrapped and then probably further wrapped is the extra packaging it creates. The most important point about this is how wasteful it is and how bad it is for the environment. On a personal level, it's also annoying for the customer to have to dispose of all that extra garbage.

  • You Have to Buy the Package

This is a set, fixed package where you pay for 20 cuts of meat in the configuration the company has arranged. There's no option to modify the order and change the numbers of each cut. In addition, there's no option to get a smaller order, such as 10 cuts of meat instead of 20. This is mostly for families. Of course, you can freeze meat, but not everyone has that kind of freezer space.

Save Money

This product could certainly save people money. Based on the original price, not so much. However, this is a really good deal and you also have the option of making 3 payments if one is difficult. It's simply a lot of meat for a very reasonable price.

Save Time

Ordering this package will save you time because you don't have to take a trip to the butcher to buy the meat yourself. Naturally, you do have to be there for the delivery, but it still saves you time compared to if you had to go out and buy the meat yourself.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Solid Chunks of Meat

Remember, you should freeze meat as solid chunks instead of smaller pieces or cubes. It keeps longer in the freezer.

  2. Freeze Leftovers

You can freeze leftover cooked meat for up to 3 months. It's good to use in dishes you make like stews or pot pies.

  3. Pork

A pork roast will keep for 8 months in the freezer. However, pork chops are only good frozen for about 4 months.

  4. Steak and Beef Roasts

You can store steak and beef roasts in the freezer for up to a year and they'll still be good. However, smaller beef cubes will only stay good for about 3 months.

  5. Deli Meats

You can keep deli meats in your fridge for up to a week and they will still stay good, as long as you keep them wrapped in the original packaging they came in.
