Sound Shades are polarized sunglasses that block potentially harmful UV rays as sunglasses normally do, but will also play music and other audio for you. Once you connect these sunglasses to your smartphone via the phone's Bluetooth settings, they'll play back any music or audio on your phone, allowing you to keep your hands and ears free. These stylish sunglasses come with black frames and pink lenses, but you can swap in the included metallic blue or gold sunglasses if you choose.
The cost of Sound Shades is $39.99 and the shipping is FREE! Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: trysoundshades.com
To turn on your Sound Shades and start using them, simply find the power button located at the front of the right arm and press it.
Making sure your phone is turned on, too, connect the phone with your sunglasses by modifying the phone's Bluetooth settings. If you're not sure how to do this, consult your smartphone's instructions. With most phones, the sunglasses will appear on a list of connectable devices.
After your phone and your sunglasses are connected via Bluetooth, you can then select any audio tracks on your phone that you want your sunglasses to play. These could be tracks already downloaded onto the phone or ones you access via the internet. When the sunglasses are connected to your phone, you'll also be able to use them to make and answer calls with your hands free.
Each pair of Sound Shades contains surround sound speakers, so even though the sunglasses are small, they'll be able to offer you high-tech, high-quality sound without too many treble tones.
Although these sunglasses have a lot of capabilities, their weight and bulk don't reflect that, as each pair has a featherweight design. Therefore, they won't feel heavy on your head or if you're carrying a pair around in your hands. The power button and other functional controls are also small and discreet, so at first sight, the sunglasses won't appear very different from a standard stylish pair.
Every pair of Sound Shades has a built-in microphone that you can use to talk back to your phone, if needed, such as when answering a call. The built-in mic is located next to the power button on each pair of glasses.
Once you charge your sunglasses by using the included USB cable to connect them to a computer, their battery will stay charged for up to four hours at a time. After those four hours are up, though, you likely will need to plug them back into a digital device for a recharge.
Sound Shades come with pink lenses inserted in the frames, but you'll also receive a set of metallic gold and a set of metallic blue lenses with the shades. You'll be able to pop the pink lenses out and pop one of the extra sets in whenever you want to change up your look a bit. Plus, each set of lenses is small enough that you'll be able to carry all three with you to most places, within the included carrying case.
When you wear these sunglasses in order to listen to audio, you'll be able to multitask more often, as your hands will be free to do other things besides hold a phone or mp3 player. If you want to take notes while listening to a conference call, or eat while listening to a hockey game, this will definitely be possible for you. If biking is your thing, you'll even be able to ride a bike, drink water and listen to audio tracks of your choice at the same time.
These shades have stylish black frames and come with lenses in three fashionable colors, and they don't appear overly big or clunky, either. You'll be able to pair them with fashionable clothing and walk on the streets, the sand or virtually anywhere else without appearing dorky or out of place.
The sound benefits of these sunglasses may be more exciting, but no one should forget that these sunglasses are polarized, and will protect your eyes from the sun's UV rays. This protection will help you ensure that your eyes stay as healthy as possible for the years to come. Polarized sunglasses are also known for blocking out glare, and the Sound Shades are no different in that respect.
To get all the benefits offered by your Sound Shades, you'll need to have a smartphone—not just any old phone or an mp3 player—to connect them to. Otherwise, you won't be able to play audio on them, and while they'll still be a nice-looking pair of sunglasses, they won't be anything more than that. Your phone must also be powered on when paired with your sunglasses in order for the connection between them to work.
People who wear prescription glasses may be out of luck when it comes to the Sound Shades, as no prescription lenses are available. If you wear prescription glasses, you could put the Sound Shades on overtop of them, but that might feel awkward, and they may not stay on your face as effectively as they would otherwise.
To get the same hands-free, wire-free, eye-protecting experience you'll get from a pair of Sound Shades, you'd have to obtain a pair of wireless earbuds and a pair of polarized sunglasses. With the Sound Shades, though, one pair of sunglasses will act as wireless earbuds and provide UV protection, too, so there'll be no need for any other device. Moreover, in addition to your hands, they'll enable you to keep your ears free of anything.
