How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Place Pillow on Bed

Once you have a Contour Soothe Sounds Pillow in your possession, you can place it on your bed. In order to ensure that its speakers are in an ideal position, make sure the slightly darker side of the pillow is face-down and the lighter side is resting face-up.

  2. Connect Digital Device

Next, use the pillow's remote control to pair the pillow with a Bluetooth-compatible digital device, such as a smartphone or tablet. If you want to pair the pillow with a device that's not Bluetooth-compatible, you may be able to plug the pillow's attached USB cable into it instead. This will depend on the exact nature of the device.

  3. Select Music or Other Audio

Once your pillow has been connected with a digital device of some sort, use any app on this device to choose some music or another digital recording to play. After you've made your choice, the audio will begin to flow through the pillow's wireless speakers. At this point, you can use the pillow's remote control to turn the volume level up or down, if you're not satisfied with the current level.

  4. Sleep or Rest

With your music (or alternative audio) playing, it'll be time to settle down to sleep or relax with your head on your pillow. If you find that you can't sleep or rest properly, you can choose a different recording or adjust the volume again. Regardless of whether you plan on sleeping or resting, make sure your digital device is resting on your bed in such a way that you'll be unlikely to roll over on top of it.

Features

  • White

Each Contour Soothe Sounds Pillow is white on top, with an off-white bottom. That means your pillow will look nice with almost any type of decor in any room, and you'll always be able to tell which side is the bottom and which is the top. You may be able to fit this type of pillow into a standard pillowcase, although that might muffle the sound that comes from the speakers a little bit.

  • Premium Memory Foam

These pillows are made from premium memory foam, a type of foam that's firm enough to provide support, without being so hard that it's uncomfortable to sleep on. Its high quality means that your pillow will likely last you for years before it needs to be replaced. Furthermore, each pillow contains dozens of small ventilation holes that will improve airflow and thereby help keep the pillow cool and dry as you lie on it.

  • Invisible Speakers

When you glance at this type of pillow, you won't be able to see the speakers inside it. Similarly, you also won't be able to feel them poking into the back or the side of your head while you're using the pillow for sleep or rest. Unless you tell them, it's unlikely that anyone will ever realize the speakers are there.

  • Eye Mask Included

Every Contour Soothe Sounds Pillow will come with a navy blue, lavender-infused eye mask that will help you relax and go to sleep. Lavender has relaxing properties in itself, and typically, covering the eyes can make sleep arrive faster. Before you use this mask, you can microwave or freeze it in order to make it warm or cool, but for safety's sake, you must be sure to follow the instructions as you do so.

Positive Points

  • Compatible With Any Audio

Before smartphones and tablets were widely available, you might have obtained a CD with relaxing songs or sounds on it to help lull you to sleep. However, CDs like this would probably only offer about a dozen tracks. On the other hand, if you connect a digital device to your Contour Soothe Sounds Pillow, you'll be able to listen to any type of audio that's available for download. Aside from music tracks, your options will range from children's stories to nature sounds to educational podcasts.

  • No Earbuds Required

Some people listen to music or other sounds through earbuds as they sleep, but this can be dangerous since the wires could get tangled around your neck. Once you've got a pillow with wireless speakers, though, you'll no longer need the earbuds to hear the music or sound of your choice. If you sleep with another person, and they're at all disturbed by the sound, you can turn it down to the quietest volume level possible. Depending on your television, you may even be able to connect the pillow to the TV and listen to your favorite programs before bed.

  • Promotes Spine Alignment

Memory foam tends to conform to the natural curve of the spine, so using this pillow will promote healthy spine alignment. While you're lying down on it, asleep or not, the foam will gradually conform to the natural alignment of your body, instead of trying to gradually force you to conform to its shape. Therefore, you'll be less likely to wake up with aches and pains than you would be after using a standard sponge pillow in a case.

Negative Points

  • Could be Damaged by Water

If you regularly use this type of pillow on your bed, you'll have to be careful when you bring water or any other type of liquid into or near the bed. More than a few drops of spilled liquid could seep through the pillow's cover and towards the speakers, which could cause permanent damage. With this in mind, you'll also have to make sure that you detach the pillow's white cover and wash it alone, when necessary, without getting the speakers wet.

Critical Advice

Those people who like to stack their pillows can continue to do so, but the Contour Soothe Sounds Pillow should be resting at the top of the stack. If you were to place it in the middle or at the bottom, you may not be able to hear the speakers as clearly as you'd otherwise be able to.

Save Time

If you've got one of these pillows, you won't have to set up a separate wireless sound system beside your bed in order to hear your music (or other audio) clearly without earphones. Instead, all you'll need to do is take a couple of seconds to pair a digital device that you probably already have, such as your smartphone, with the pillow and then turn the audio on.
