The Snuggie Unicorn is like a traditional Snuggle ( wearable blanket ), but each is decorated with eyes, a rainbow horn, a mane and a tail. This Snuggle comes in three different styles, including a pink Unicorn style for kids, a blue Dinocorn style for kids, and a light purple Unicorn style in a size suitable for teens. You can use these as a traditional blanket while snuggling on the couch or in bed, or even use them to play pretend when you want to have some fun.
The cost of Snuggie Unicorn is $19.99 plus $4.99 shipping, for a total price of $24.98. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at snuggieunicorn.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Snuggie Unicorn and has taken down the website. Snuggie Unicorn may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
Each of these Snuggies is as soft and fleecy as a traditional blanket, so you'll be able to feel warm and cozy while wearing yours, even on cold days.
Although they're soft, the fabric used to make these garments is durable, so one may last you for several years or more.
The kids' version of the Snuggie Unicorn is 50 inches long, so depending on how tall a particular child is, it may even reach the floor while they're wearing it. If you choose the teen version, it's 57 inches long and will fall past the knees of most teenagers. It's 45 inches wide while the kids' version is 36 inches wide, so these will comfortably wrap around the bodies of most kids and teens.
When this garment gets dirty, you won't need to hand-wash it or take it to the dry cleaner's, as you'll be able to safely run it through the washing machine. Keep it mind that if you put it in the dryer afterward, it could shrink a bit.
These Snuggies contain hand covers that you can use to cover your hands and fingers if they get super-cold, but you'll also have the option of poking your hands through them when you need to. Therefore, you'll be able to do activities such as color, draw and write with your Snuggie on.
If you're getting a children's Snuggie, you can choose between becoming a pink unicorn or a blue Dinocorn ( a combination of a dinosaur and a unicorn ). Each style can be worn by kids of either gender, and each features eyes, ears, a horn, a mane, paw markings and a tail. Light purple is the shade that each teen-sized Snuggie comes in, and each of these has all the same decorative features as the kids' ones.
While teachers may not want their students to wear these to school, you can wear one almost anywhere else, and it won't restrict your movement. You may want to take it to a friend or relative's house as a reminder of home, or use it as a cozy blanket in the car or outdoors. It's so comfortable that you may want to wear it to bed, too, regardless of whether you're taking a nap or planning on staying there for the night.
Wearing these character-based Snuggies will encourage kids and teens to be creative and actually pretend to be a unicorn or Dinocorn while interacting with friends or family. If you remember to lift up your Snuggle so it doesn't drag along the floor ( this may not be an issue for taller kids and teens ), you can even dance in one!
Some kids like having pajamas or a blanket that will cover their feet if their toes tend to get cold. Unfortunately, none of these Snuggles come with built-in feet, nor is there enough extra fabric at the bottom to cover a child's feet, unless they're very short.
Adults or larger teenagers who won't fit in the teen-sized Snuggie Unicorn may enjoy dressing up as a unicorn or Dinocorn, too, especially when taking care of kids. There are no adult sizes of these Snuggies available, though, so an adult or larger teen will have to add extra decorations to a standard Snuggle instead. This could be time-consuming and / or difficult, depending on your artistic ability and sewing skills.
Traditional blankets can keep your warm, but you won't be able to move much while underneath one, if you want to stay underneath it. On the other hand, while wearing a Snuggie Unicorn, you'll be able to do almost all the activities you usually do with regular clothes on, while staying warm as if you're under a blanket.
Many people choose to wear hoodies to keep warm when chilly, but these will only cover your top half, while a Snuggie Unicorn will cover all or almost all of your lower body. Plus, you may not want to wrinkle a hoodie that you often wear in public by wearing it to bed, but Snuggies aren't clothing, and were designed to be slept in!
A traditional Snuggie offers many of the same benefits as these character-based ones, but it can be more fun to wear a character-based one and pretend you're an exotic animal instead of yourself.
If you get a kids' unicorn or Dinocorn Snuggie for a child, and the garment falls past their feet while they're standing, be sure to supervise them as they climb stairs or bunk-bed ladders. Otherwise, they could trip on the bottom of the garment and take a tumble.
