The Snow N Glow Lantern is a vintage-look lantern and a snow globe in one. Each battery-operated lantern contains one of three holiday-centric figurines, including a Santa Claus, an angel or a group of singing snowmen, along with swirling, glittery artificial snowflakes. The snowflakes continuously whirl due to a propeller within the base of each lantern, and with the switch on the bottom of each one, you'll be able to choose between white and multicolored light.
The cost of Snow N Glow Lantern is $39.99 plus $19.99 shipping, for a total price of $59.98.

Before you use your Snow N Glow Lantern, you'll need to insert an appropriate set of batteries in it. You'll have to obtain these batteries on your own, so you must consult your instruction manual to determine the exact type and number of batteries you'll require. Once you put the batteries in, you'll also be able to set the automatic timer on your lantern so that it turns on and off after a certain period of time, without action from you. If you need help with this, consult your instructions for more information.
Next, you'll be able to choose whether you want your lantern to emit white light or alternate between different colors of the rainbow, such as green, red and blue. You can go back and forth between these options by simply flicking the black switch on the bottom of your lantern to one side or the other.
Finally, you'll need to choose a location for your lantern, such as on your dining room table or beside your Christmas tree. Its base is flat, so it'll rest securely on virtually any flat surface, but each one also has a heavy-duty hook that you can use to hang it up if you'd like. Regardless of where you put it, it'll give off a gentle glow that's calming instead of being so bright that it seems blinding. When you want to move your lantern, it can be carried quickly to the new location of your choice.
Each Snow N Glow Lantern has an old-fashioned, vintage look, so if you're middle-aged or older, it may remind you of Christmases in your childhood. If you're in that age group and have children to spend the holiday season with, this lantern may prompt you to share old holiday stories from your memory bank with them.
Some snow globes only contain white artificial snowflakes, but the artificial snowflakes in each of these lanterns actually glitter and shimmer as they move, making the whole thing look more exciting. Children and adults alike may find watching the flakes move, for at least several minutes at a time, to be a relaxing, stress-relieving activity.
This type of lantern will likely last you for at least a few years, if not a decade or longer since each one is made from a combination of heavy metal and durable plastic. All of the black parts are made of heavy-duty metal, while the transparent panels on the outside of each are made of sturdy plastic.
If you only need one of these lanterns, you can opt to get one at once, but there's also the option of getting a second one with the same figurine or a different one inside. You might want to get one for your living room and one for your dining room or put one downstairs and the other upstairs in a bedroom.
When you're choosing an indoor location for your lantern, the possibilities are nearly endless since you won't require electricity to operate the lantern. As a result, you'll be able to place it anywhere it looks good, without worrying about whether there's an available electrical outlet nearby. Provided your lantern has working batteries in it, it'll also come in handy if the power happens to go out one night.
Aside from being a Christmas decoration, the Snow N Glow Lantern will make a great night light, especially for a child's room. If you use one as a night light, you may want to use white light instead of letting the lantern alternate between colors since the latter option could be distracting. With solid white light, the lantern will give you the illumination you'll need to see various objects in your room, but not enough illumination to keep you awake all night. It'll also help comfort children who are afraid of the dark.
If you don't want to turn on a bunch of bright lamps during your holiday dinner, but don't want to deal with the safety hazard of candles, one of these lanterns will help you out. Just place a Snow N Glow Lantern in the middle of your table, and it'll give you some soft glowing light. Additionally, it'll make an attractive centerpiece that your family members or other guests may end up complimenting you on.
While traditional vintage lanterns that contain flames are unsafe to touch, that's not the case with the Snow N Glow Lantern, because it'll never get super-hot. After you've turned yours on, you'll be able to touch any part of it without being concerned about burning your fingers, as each one's light bulb is safely concealed inside.
The batteries within your lantern will likely wear out well before your lantern does, so it's probable that you'll need to replace them frequently. Some modern battery-operated devices can be charged via a USB cable and a personal computer, but with this lantern, that's unfortunately not an option.
The Snow N Glow Lantern is suitable for use almost anywhere indoors, but it's not a good decoration to hang outside your home or some other building. Its durable materials will enable it to tolerate some accidental bumping and banging inside the house, but they may not stand up to harsh weather conditions like rain, snow and the hot sun outdoors. If you carry your lantern outdoors in your hand for a few minutes, it'll probably be fine, but you shouldn't leave it out there for an extended period of time.
Although you must shake traditional snow globes in order to get the artificial snowflakes inside to move, you must actually avoid shaking your Snow N Glow Lantern. Shaking it might interfere with the propeller inside that causes the artificial snow to circulate, and make it work less effectively in the future.
One of these lanterns will make a good gift for almost anyone, but if you've got a friend or family member who doesn't celebrate Christmas, it's best to choose the snowman lantern for them. The snowman is generally considered a more secular symbol of winter while Santa Claus and angels are commonly thought of as Christian symbols.

Was impressed by the product and very very disappointed when received notice of order canceled as limit quantity. Would seem there should have been enough marketing to prevent this. So sad.
