How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Check Handle Length

When you're getting ready to begin your first snow-clearing job with your Snow Joe Snow Broom, you'll need to first check the handle's length. A short handle may be fine if you're working with a small car, but if your car is fairly tall, you might need to lengthen the tool's handle, especially if you're short. To do so, grab the handle somewhere near the middle and twist it to the left. Pull on it gently until it reaches the desired length, and then twist it to the right to lock it into place.

  2. Clear Snow From Car

Next, hang onto your device's handle and use the 18-inch, non-abrasive foam broom head to clear any mounds of built-up snow from your vehicle. You'll likely have to clear snow from the roof, the windshield, and the trunk area.

  3. Scrape Ice Off of Car

When you're done clearing snow off of your vehicle, you may need to scrape some ice off the windshield and the other windows, too. For that task, you'll use the scraper tool on the opposite end of your snow broom's adjustable handle. If you feel the need to shorten the handle at this point, then twist it to the left, push it down to shorten it, and then twist it to the right again.

  4. Store Tool Away Safely

After you've scraped any unwanted ice off your vehicle's windows and windshield, you can either store your snow broom away in your house or garage as is or unscrew its handle to detach it. Once the handle's detached, if you convert it to its shortest available height of 33 inches, you can add it to the bracket holder that you'll find on one side of the foam broom head. That will make the tool more compact, which may be advantageous if you don't have a lot of storage space.

  • Lightweight

Each Snow Joe Snow Broom weighs only 1.4 pounds, so almost anyone will be able to lift it up and move it around without quickly becoming fatigued. If you typically use a metal shovel that weighs a few pounds to remove snow from your vehicle's roof, you may notice a huge difference in how you feel after you switch to this broom.

  • Adjustable Handle

Some snow brushes and scrapers come with short little handles that don't allow petite people to reach the tops of their vehicles without standing on their tip-toes or a chair. On the other hand, each of these snow brooms comes with a slim, adjustable handle that can be made as short as 33 inches or as long as 52 inches. You'll be able to pick and choose the length you'd like depending on how tall you are, how tall your vehicle is, and whether you'll be sweeping or scraping.

  • Compatible With All Vehicles

The Snow Joe Snow Broom can be used with any vehicle, regardless of whether it's a large SUV or van, or a compact electric car. It's even suitable for use with a boat or RV, and depending on your height, you may be able to reach the roof of your RV with this tool without standing on anything. No matter what the exterior of each vehicle you have is made of, or how it's been painted, this tool's broom and scraper should never damage its appearance.

  • Smaller Scraper Included

You'll receive a smaller ice-scraping tool with each one of these snow brooms. Therefore, if you've got lots of ice to scrape off a single vehicle, one family member can get busy with the small scraper while the other works with the scraping end of the larger broom. You may also want to leave your snow broom at home for another member of your household to use, but take the smaller scraper in your own vehicle in case you need it unexpectedly.

Positive Points

  • Ideal for Kids

Just as this tool is an ideal one for shorter people to use to clear their vehicles, it's also a fantastic one to use if you want to teach kids to do the same thing. A child may have difficulty maneuvering a heavier shovel or broom around and may scrape a windshield too hard with a traditional ice-scraping tool, but they shouldn't have those problems with this device. Even if they get a bit aggressive with the scraping end, both ends have been designed not to cause damage, so you shouldn't end up with any scratches on your car's exterior.

  • Will Fit in Trunks

If your car has a trunk, and it's not too crowded, you should be able to carry your snow broom around in that trunk, if that's your preference. Just be sure to detach the device's handle and add it to the included bracket holder first. Once you've done so, the device will be only 18 inches long and almost completely flat, so you shouldn't have trouble closing the door of your trunk while it's in there.

  • Can be Used in Yard

Aside from using this tool's foam broom head on your household's vehicles, you may find it useful in and around your yard, too. If the roof of your shed or free-standing garage frequently ends up covered in snow, you may be able to reach it comfortably by extending this device's handle. Similarly, if you want to uncover a play structure or pieces of lawn furniture that have been snowed upon, you should be able to quickly use your broom to push excess snow off these things.

  • Makes a Good Gift

In a climate where it tends to snow frequently, a Snow Joe Snow Broom can serve as a great gift for anyone who has a vehicle. Even someone who lives in an apartment and parks in an indoor parking garage may be able to make use of it when they emerge from other buildings during a snowstorm.

Save Time

People without a tool like the Snow Joe Snow Broom will likely try to use a small snow brush to sweep snow off their car, and a smaller scraper to scrape ice off its windows. However, with a pint-sized brush and broom, it may take you up to an hour to completely clear your vehicle, especially if you have to climb up on something to reach the very top. Once you've got a Snow Joe Snow Broom with its longer, extendable handle and wide broom attachment, though, you may be able to cut your brushing and scraping sessions down to 15 minutes or less.
