Simply Sonic

Rate this product

Simply Sonic is a battery-powered toothbrush with charcoal-infused bristles arranged in a special curved design that's meant to enable them to give your teeth a deep cleaning. The reason the charcoal is included is that it's commonly known as a substance that may whiten your teeth. After you turn this toothbrush on and its motor begins to deliver more than 2, 000 brush strokes per minute, it'll get started removing surface stains and also penetrating deep down to the gum line.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Make Sure Head Is Attached

Before you can use your Simply Sonic toothbrush, you'll need to make sure that one of the included brush heads (two come with each toothbrush) has been attached to the brush's handle. Once it's been added to the handle, the brush will be ready to go since it will already have a battery inside.

  2. Turn On Brush

Next, use the power button on the front of the toothbrush to turn the brush on, and begin brushing your teeth as you normally would. This brush has a built-in timer that will audibly alert you when you should move on to the next area of teeth. The timer will help prevent you from brushing your teeth for too long or too short of a time.

  3. Turn Brush Off

When you're done brushing your teeth, turn your brush off by using the power button, and place the brush in the included countertop stand until you need to use it again.

Features

  • Two Speeds

Each Simply Sonic brush can run at two speeds, and you can switch between the two as it suits you. The "power" speed will blast away plaque from virtually all areas of your mouth, while the gentle speed is the ideal one to use when you're brushing close to the gum area. In fact, if your teeth are fairly clean but are also fairly sensitive, you might choose to stick to the gentle speed at all times.

  • Moderately Slim Handle

While the handle found on each of these toothbrushes is thicker than that found on the majority of manual brushes, each one isn't super-thick. Most users will be able to hold onto theirs in one hand as they brush, without any difficulty at all.

  • Far-Reaching

With manual toothbrushes and round-headed, battery-operated brushes that spin, you may find that you cannot reach the molars that are at the very back of your mouth. You might also find that your toothbrush reaches between your teeth, but not all the way down to your gums. Fortunately, you won't have either of these problems when you use the Simply Sonic toothbrush, due to its ability to reach down and back into places that other brushes typically can't.

  • Safe For Use With Dentures

Aside from natural teeth, this type of toothbrush is safe for use on dentures and other artificial additions to your teeth such as caps and crowns. It'll clean these just as effectively as it'll clean a set of 100 percent natural teeth.

  • Two Brush Heads Included

With every Simply Sonic brush, you'll receive two identical brush heads, so if one starts to look worn-out, you'll be able to immediately substitute in the other one.

Positive Points

  • Makes Teeth More Attractive

The powerful action of this toothbrush's motor, along with the charcoal that's been added to each brush head, will make your teeth much brighter and whiter within just a few days of use. As a result, your attractive teeth will only add to your attractiveness level in general, and increased attractiveness may lead to more social or professional opportunities for you.

  • May Lead to Less Dentist Time

This toothbrush will likely be able to clean your teeth more deeply than the toothbrush you previously used. Therefore, if you clean your teeth once, twice or three times a day with your Simply Sonic brush, you may not have to spend as much time in the dentist's chair as you usually do. You also may be able to avoid getting cavities filled since this toothbrush may prevent them from even showing up in your mouth.

  • Ideal For Kids

Often, kids don't know how long they should brush their teeth for or how they should move their toothbrush in order to clean them well. That's why this particular toothbrush is an ideal one for kids to use—it's timer will let them know how long to brush and its motor will move the bristles for them. Plus, any child will probably be happy to have a shorter dentist appointment than usual, too.

  • Will Rest On Countertop

When placed within the included countertop stand, this toothbrush will stand up straight with its head facing upward, so it'll be unlikely to pick up a lot of dirt from the countertop. If it ever does happen to get dirty, you can just hold it over your sink and run it for 30 seconds or so without putting it in your mouth.

Negative Points

  • Black Bristles

Since white it a shade that's often associated with cleanliness, and black is a shade that's often associated with the opposite, users may find it weird at first to brush with black bristles. Users may also find the idea of brushing with something that contains charcoal to be unusual at first since charcoal somewhat resembles dirt. If you want to give one of these toothbrushes to a child under your care, you may want to avoid telling them about the charcoal infusions. Otherwise, they might deem the toothbrush gross and unusable.

  • No Replacement Battery

It's nice that each toothbrush comes with a second brush head that you can use as a replacement, but unfortunately, each one does not come with a replacement battery. The type of battery required to run this type of toothbrush isn't specified, and if yours runs out quickly due to frequent use, it could be difficult to get a replacement on short notice.

Critical Advice

If you're using your Simply Sonic toothbrush at the high-power speed and your gums start to bleed, you should switch to the gentle speed for the rest of your brushing session. This brush is meant to help do away with any bleeding caused by gingivitis, so allowing it to actually increase bleeding would be counterproductive.

Save Money

This toothbrush isn't meant to be a complete replacement for your dentist, but if you normally go to an appointment twice a year, you may be able to cut back to once. The shorter appointments that come with cleaner teeth normally come with a smaller bill, too. Along the same lines, you may also be able to cut back on the number of products you pick up at the drugstore for your teeth, such as whitening strips or whitening toothpaste.
