Shimmy Scrub is a long, narrow, bright blue body-scrubbing cloth that's been designed to allow you to scrub hard-to-reach areas, like your back, neck, and the bottoms of your feet. One side of the cloth contains more than a thousand soft bristles that'll clean and exfoliate your skin. Then, if you flip the cloth over, the other side contains large beads that are meant to massage the skin and promote good circulation. It's specified that each cloth has flexible material, and comes with a shower hook.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Add Body Wash or Soap

Before you start using your Shimmy Scrub, you should add the body wash or soap of your choice to the side of the cloth that has soft bristles. You might choose to wash with only water if you'd like, but as you've likely realized over the years, using soap or body wash along with it will make your skin much cleaner. This can be done when you're in the shower or the bathtub, regardless of whether the water is running or not.

  2. Grip Handles and Wash

Next, once you're in your bathtub or shower and are prepared to wash, grip one handle of your Shimmy Scrub in each hand. Following that, wrap the cloth around your chosen body part(s), such as your back, your shoulders, or the bottom of one foot. Make sure the side of the cloth with the bristles is touching your skin, and then move the cloth back and forth to scrub any dirt off of that part. As you scrub, the cloth will exfoliate your skin at the same time.

  3. Repeat for Other Areas

When you're done washing and exfoliating one body part, repeat the above step on as many parts of your body as you'd like to. Just keep in mind that this cloth shouldn't be used near your eyes, nose, or mouth.

  4. Flip Cloth Over (optional)

After you're done cleaning your body, you can flip your Shimmy Scrub over and give yourself a massage with the other side of the cloth. To massage yourself, you'll need to wrap the cloth around each body part you want to treat, as you did within the previous two steps.

  5. Rinse Clean and Hang

Finally, once you're finished with your cloth for the day, rinse the cloth clean with water and hang it from a hook, such as the included shower hook. Alternatively, you could roll it up and store it on a shelf in your shower or on the rim of your tub. Either way, you can gently wring it out first or let it drip dry.

Features

  • Bright Blue

The Shimmy Scrub you receive will be bright blue, a color that people of various ages and genders tend to find attractive. Due to its color, you should also be able to spot it quickly if it's being stored with a bunch of other bathtime accessories.

  • For All Skin Types

This cloth is gentle enough that people of all skin types, including sensitive skin, will be able to use it without experiencing irritation. It's even safe to use on a child's skin, in the same way that it's used on an adult man or woman's.

  • Flexible Material

Both the handles and the body of this type of cloth are quite stretchy and flexible. This means that if you tug and pull on the cloth while you're washing, exfoliating, or massaging your skin, it's unlikely that it'll ever rip.

  • Bacteria and Odor-resistant

Some scrub brushes and loofahs can be major bacteria catchers, but the Shimmy Scrub has been designed to resist the buildup of bacteria and odors. Therefore, yours won't smell foul when you go to use it, nor will it transfer a multitude of germs that may be in your tub or shower onto your skin.

  • Shower Hook Included

Each cloth comes with a small, transparent shower hook that you'll be able to use to hang the cloth from one handle when you're not using it. You'll need to mount the hook somewhere on your bathroom wall (preferably within your shower or tub), by using its adhesive backing.

Positive Points

  • Ideal for Inflexible People

If you're naturally inflexible, you may find this cloth to be beneficial, as it'll allow you to reach and clean areas of your body that you otherwise wouldn't be able to. Kids who haven't yet developed good hand-eye co-ordination, seniors with mobility issues, and people suffering from physical ailments may newly gain the ability to wash themselves without help.

  • Promotes Good Circulation

Those people who use the beaded side of their Shimmy Scrub to give themselves a full-body massage (or even a partial one) may experience boosted blood circulation, due to the gentle pressure of the beads. This, in turn, may give you more energy and improve your overall health. That makes this cloth a fantastic one for people who are having major or minor issues with their heart, or who have heart disease in their family history, to use.

  • Comes With Scalp Brush

Every Shimmy Scrub will come with a scalp brush that will clean and exfoliate your scalp in the same way that the cloth will clean and exfoliate your body. You'll be able to add shampoo to the brush and then use it to gently massage the shampoo into your scalp. As the brush helps you cleanse your hair, it'll probably help you relax, too.

Negative Points

  • Manually Powered

The fact that this cloth must be manually powered, without the help of batteries, could be seen as a drawback for some people. Instead of letting a battery-powered motor move the cloth back and forth for you, you'll have to power the scrubbing motion yourself, or the cloth won't do its job properly.

Warnings

  • Use Hook for Cloth Only

The shower hook that's included with this cloth is meant to accommodate this cloth only. While it may be able to accommodate an item of the same or lesser weight, it might fall down if you were to add a heavier item to it. Given the fact that it sticks to the wall instead of needing to be attached with a nail, you can assume that it hasn't been made to hold up heavy things.

Critical Advice

You can rinse your Shimmy Scrub with water whenever you want to, and it's good to do this after each use. However, before you toss it in a washing machine, be sure to read the fabric care instructions. Depending on its exact combination of materials, it could end up shrinking in the machine or in your tumble-dryer.

Save Money

If you use a traditional sponge, loofah, or scrub brush to wash your skin, you might end up replacing it as frequently as once a month, due to the buildup of dirt and odors. On the other hand, the Shimmy Scrub is so resistant to this buildup that you may be able to use the same one for years without replacing it.

Poor Ordering

I tried to order two ShimmyScrubs online. The order process is not clear if you are placing an order for two or more. My credit card was charged $50.00 before
I could see the order form. Difficult to email them. Customer Service lies to me, and ships my order after I canceled it. Scam company! Do not order from them. If you want this item get it from Walmart or Amazon.

Can't do What it Says

I bought this hoping it could do what it says. I wanted to clean, shimmy, & scrub to feel renewed. My second time using it in the shower, the handle snaps & becomes useless. The thing can't stretch to accommodate anything. It was a waste of my time & money. Stick with a scrub pad you can get at a dollar store.
