Shape Scale is a fitness product that reinvents the bathroom scale for the modern age. Known as a "3D Scale" the product does far more than just record your current weight. The Shape Scale scans your body and takes a full readout of a variety of different metrics such as muscle mass, body measurements, and body fat percentages. The scale works in conjunction with a smartphone app to help you track your progress and ultimately achieve the results you desire.
Upon using the device for the first time Shape Scale will scan your body and send a photo-realistic 3D model to the application on your smartphone. The 3D model will allow you to see yourself from every angle and provide some insight on how other people view your body.
The included smartphone application provides a wide variety of different metrics to help you track your progress. Not only will it track your weight on a day to day basis, the Shape Scale will provide detailed information on inches lost, body fat shed, and muscle gained.
With the heat map feature, the user can set two different dates. The application will then use a simple color-coded system to show where you have been gaining and losing. Red indicates areas where you have gained mass and the blue areas denote where you have lost weight.
Shape Scale comes equipped with a "difference mode" that will show the user two side by side 3D models that will help them compare and contrast. Difference mode shows detailed changes that allow the user to better understand the impact of their diet and workout routines.
The Goal Tracking features help the user set reasonable short and long-term goals. You can specify different areas of your body that you would either like to gain muscle mass or lose weight on. The Shape Scale application then provides a variety of different charts and graphs that help the user reach those goals.
The Shape Scale works similar to a normal scale with one major exception. When you step onto the device, a sensor will begin to rotate around your body. Shape Scale will then send a photo-realistic 3D image of your body to the application and provide all the needed information to help you succeed at your fitness goals. The entire process takes approximately a minute to complete.
Simply step on the Shape Scale and the scanner will do the rest. Scales are at their most accurate when used first thing in the morning. It is also recommended that you wear minimal clothing for the most accurate results.
After being scanned for the first time, boot up the included application on your smartphone. You can then view all the included information to help you set obtainable long-term goals.
The Shape Scale should be used on a daily basis. The scale tracks your progress through small increments. If the device is used intermittently the information provided will not be as accurate.
Traditional scales only track weight. Weight loss alone is not a good indicator of overall fitness. Tracking only your weight can be counterproductive towards your progress. When first starting a diet and exercise regiment it's not uncommon to gain weight. Although it's counter-intuitive, weight gain at the beginning of a new exercise routine is often a good thing. Muscle weighs more than fat but not seeing those numbers drop on the scale can be very discouraging. Shape Scale remedies this problem by showing the user a wide variety of different metrics that will help to show the progress you are making on a day to day basis.
