ShamPow is a device that's been made to help users dry the back, front, sides, roof, and windows of any automobile without damaging the vehicle's exterior. It's also been deemed suitable for drying lawn furniture. It resembles a medium-sized flag, consisting of a pole that's a few feet long and a yellow microfiber cloth with a different type of material around the edges. It's specified that the edging is made from the same material used to create ShamWow cleaning cloths.
The cost of ShamPow is $39.95 plus $6.95 shipping for a total price of $46.90.
To get started with your ShamPow, select a vehicle (including a boat or RV) or a piece of lawn furniture that you want to use it on, and attach the yellow cloth to the pole. In order to do so, you must extend the pole to its full length and attach the yellow cloth to the top third of it. If you have any trouble with this, consult your instruction manual.
Next, hold onto your pole and lay your device's cloth against the edge of a flat surface that you want to dry off with the cloth. This flat surface could be the roof of your car, the hood of your car, or the seat of a Muskoka lawn chair.
With your cloth lying flat, gently pull it against the entire flat surface that you'd like to dry. As it moves across the surface, its microfiber and ShamWow materials should remove virtually any drop of water off that surface in one pass. When you're done drying off one surface, you can move on to the next, such as another piece of furniture or another area of your car's exterior.
After you've dried off the approximate equivalent of the exterior surfaces of three cars, you'll have to hang your cloth to dry. It's best to hang it to dry anyway, even if you've only used it a couple of times. Once you remove it from your device's pole, you'll be able to retract the pole so that it's shorter. That way, you'll be able to store it in a smaller space than you'd otherwise be able to. Store the pole away immediately and then store the cloth when it has finished drying, which may take up to a few hours.
You'll be able to use your ShamPow to dry the exterior surfaces of vehicles of all types, including cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, boats, and RVs. As alluded to above, if you have multiple vehicles, you'll be able to dry up to three in succession before drying your ShamPow cloth. Due to this drying device's versatility, you won't need to worry about it becoming useless if you get a new vehicle, as it'll be able to help you dry nearly any vehicle under the sun.
It may take you up to 10 minutes to dry the whole exterior of one car with an ordinary towel, such as a towel you'd use at the beach or after a shower. However, if you use this cloth-and-pole combination to dry your vehicle's exterior instead, it's specified that the vehicle can be dried up to 10 times faster. In fact, if you're skilled with using the device, you may be able to have your car dry and ready for you to jump inside in just a minute.
Each device's pole will give you such a generous reach that if you normally have trouble reaching the top of your SUV or another tall vehicle, you may be able to reach it just fine. That means you won't have to go to the trouble of getting a stepstool or chair or enlisting a taller person's help when you want to dry off a larger vehicle.
The cloth that makes up part of each ShamPow is machine washable, although you should never use bleach while washing it, nor should you put it in an electric dryer.
The standard way to use the ShamPow is to lie its cloth out flat. Nonetheless, if you want to dry a small area, such as a small window or the nooks and crannies of a piece of furniture, you may find rolling the cloth up to be more effective. You'll be able to roll the cloth around the pole to narrow it in seconds, and unroll it just as quickly.
A ShamPow won't damage the finish of anything you're drying with it, regardless of whether that's the paint on the exterior of a car or the varnish on a piece of wooden furniture. Some cloth materials can damage the finish of wood, metal, plastic, and glass objects, but the microfiber and ShamWow materials used to make up this one have been selected for their gentleness. Like the ShamWow cloths you'd use in your kitchen or bathroom, your pole's cloth will be gentle on your outdoor objects.
If your car were to get wet from rain or a wash and you were to leave it out in the hot sun, the stray water droplets could actually damage the vehicle's finish. Fortunately, you'll be able to use your ShamPow to quickly dry off your car (or any other vehicle) whenever it gets wet, so its finish will continue looking shiny and new. As it dries your vehicle's exterior, this device will also remove leaves and other debris, giving your car a more attractive appearance. The same goes for any dusty or debris-covered outdoor furniture you have.
Those ShamPow users who have a very large vehicle and want to get the drying job done even faster might choose to upgrade to the supersized version of the device. This version will work in the same way as the standard one, but the cloth will be thicker and the pole will be longer. These changes should result in the cloth picking up even more water more quickly than the standard version does, and an extended reach for each user.
With any standard or supersized ShamPow, users will receive a car hooker that will attach to the back of the headrest of the driver or front passenger's seat. Things like bags and purses can be hung from it, and if you flip up a certain plastic piece on the bottom, it'll hold a smartphone.
Once you have a ShamPow at your home, you may not have to get your car professionally washed as often. This device will enable you to get rid of water streaks and spots from precipitation quickly at home, so there'll be no need for you to have them scrubbed off professionally at a later time. The tool will also make short work of dirt and debris that typically accumulates on a vehicle when you drive it regularly, so you won't have to have someone else clean these things off, either.
