Features

  • One Touch Defrost

A one touch defrost button allows you to cook frozen waffles.

  • Reheating Mode

There is a reheating mode which is perfect for crisping up your pizza.

  • Use on Pasteries

You could even use the toaster for warming pastries or croissants perfectly, every time.

  • Never Overcook

You never have to worry about overcooking. The automatic shut off mode will stop cooking as soon as the bread is ready.

Pros

  • Innovative

The Seren toaster is an innovative side loading toaster when your toaster loads out of the side you can fit any type of food or pastry no matter the shape. It is a one touch kitchen items that will handle all of your toasting needs. Make smoked salmon bagels, toasted sandwiches for lunch, hearty breakfast foods, or crunchy waffles.

  • Even Toasting

The ability to place any type of bread or pastry inside the center console allows for even heating and even toasting. Rather than wait for an oven to heat up in order to reheat bread rolls or pastries, stick them directly into this and toss them in the toaster.

  • Easy to Remove

The food that you cook are easy to remove. In many cases with traditional toasters, anything other than a standard square size piece of bread you will have difficulty removing. Smaller pastries, bagels, or croissant's tend to remain inside the microwave forcing you to dangerously pick up the food to remove it.

This can result in burns on your fingers or serious electrocution if you're trying to use a utensil to aid your endeavor. With this unit you can remove any food without it breaking or crumbling inside because of the easy slide out release function. There is no toaster in the way of your food. Rather, just as easily as you put the food in, you can take out.

How It Works

Built into the side loading unit is a removable tray. Much like the way older typewriters worked, the tray extends outward to one side. Built into this extendable portion of the tray are two metal wiring sets. Flexible, when not in use they come together perfectly. Flush against one another they remain in place. Whatever item you choose to toast or warm you simply fit in between these two. The pressure is limited so it won't do things like squish your croissant and remove any of the flakiness. Instead it will simply rest perfectly on either side of the food you are preparing. Holding it in place directly in the center of the slid-able drawer means that once you put it into the toaster and turn it on everything is evenly warmed and evenly toasted.

Cons

  • Should Eat Quickly

Understand that when you warm food in a toaster it is rather imperative that the pastries or bread be consumed immediately. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that whatever it is you were warming will become cold and firm. When baking things in the oven you have a bit more time to consume the food. However, this toaster is really designed for larger families who are always busy and on the go which means the food will be consumed rather immediately.

Alternatives

  • Arzum Side Loading

Side loading toasters are no longer a very prominent thing although they are in fact quite old. Today, side loading toasters other than this particular brand are generally only antiques and not meant to be used. The only other option on the market is the Arzum Firrin toaster which has a similar pop out mechanism and the sliding tray on the side. It can handle side-by-side bagels, baked goods or even roles.

There is a setting for defrost alongside seven levels of brownness. Once the indicator light goes off you can slide the toast out. Much simpler in its design this particular side loading toaster offers a very plain design with fewer features.

Comment and Question

I have had mine for 3 years now and have been extremely happy with it. I bought some of those oven/BBQ liner sheets which enable me to make perfect toasties. I just cut them to size to be able to fold in half and fit inside then place the sandwich in the fold, job done. I think the toast is crispier, which I love. My question is: do the elements lose strength as mine doesn't seem to be toasting as strong as usual. Can anyone answer that one, please?

Red Toaster

I bought a serene toaster with red cover 7 / 9 months ago. Unfortuneately I did not keep the box and having bought it on line I do not have a paper receipt. It has no stopped working and it would appear I am stuck with it. Is there any way I can have this matter resolved as I feel agrieved at having bought an expensive toaster and have no redress.

Soup?

I purchased my Seren Toaster after watching watching some over enthusiastic tosser demonstrate it to a group of middle aged female crackpots who responded as if it were the second coming of the lord or a time travelling device offering a portal into the future at the touch of a button. Sadly neither proved to be the case and we still await the good lord and the future is still a dimension too far, possibly awaiting us with sh! T toast.
It's portrayed as a device which solves all your cooking needs so imagine my surprise when I poured half a gallon of soup into it only for the damned thing to crackle, smoke and finally with a resounding bang blow every single fuse in my house.
Nevertheless I persevered and upon replacing said fuses with more robust industrial size types akin to 6" nails, I put my innovative side to the test and as the so called toaster was obviously no use for soup I thought I'd give drying my underpants a crack so to speak. Again this was less than successful and my favorite pair of Kalvin Kleins went up in smoke and are now buried in the back yard along with floppy the goldfish ( floppy also died at the hands of the Seren Toaster but for fear of repurcussions from the Animal Rights Lobby the details shall not be shared here )
Anyway to summarise; it's sh! Te for soup, underpants and definately not for goldfish, dunno about toast though as it seems to broken, suggesting that it's not the most robust of constructions.

Thank you.

Worst Toaster Ever

The demonstration video never shows how the sandwich is put in. It is impossible to hold the button down with one hand and pick up and put your sandwich in with the other hand without it falling apart. My grated cheese and tomato sandwich was not even warm in the middle let alone cooked. I have just phoned to send mine back, but they want me to pay the postage, which I think is unfair as the toaster is not working as it should be. So I am sending it back as faulty goods and they will pick it up from me.

Of course, grated cheese is going to fall out - unless you superglue it to the bread. Alternatively, as this can leave a bit of a strange taste, and smells rather odd, you could try using solid cheese instead. Try turning the time up a bit higher as well - and use the defrost button a couple of times for longer.

The Seren Toaster may look good on TV but after two weeks of use have failed to get one slice of toast that is cooked right / it is so slow you can put it in and go for a shower and be back in time to take it out does not cook evenly / you need twice as much room on your bench as a normal toaster and you could very easily burn yourself not worth a blurt don't waste the money.

Probably not a good idea to take it into the shower. How much is a blurt worth? Is it as much as 2 pahs? Or 4 wibbles?

The image you show has a US Dollar price tag, yet the site takes me to the UK. Is this available in the US? 220v will obviously not work here.
