Sanitru is a bottle-based disinfecting system for homes and businesses. It's been deemed capable of killing 99.9 percent of germs that are commonly found on hard surfaces. According to a study conducted by the American National Institute of Health, it's also capable of killing some common viruses by breaking their strands of DNA, which makes them unable to spread. With your Sanitru bottle, along with the included USB charger, it's specified that you'll be able to make an effective and safe cleaning solution at home with vinegar, water, and salt.
The cost of Sanitru is $59.99 plus $9.95 shipping for a total price of $69.94.

To begin mixing your Sanitru solution in the included plastic bottle, add cold water that's from your tap or a water purifier. Fill the bottle with approximately 500 milliliters of water, which should fill it to about the start of the neck.
Following the water, use the included plastic spoon to measure out one spoonful (three grams) of fine, non-iodized table salt. Dump this spoonful of salt into your plastic bottle.
Next, add some white vinegar (an acidity level of five percent is best) to the included vinegar dropper bottle by using the funnel in your Sanitru kit. Use the dropper to add a quarter of a teaspoon of vinegar to the plastic bottle. Put the lid on your bottle and shake it until all the salt dissolves.
To electrolyze your bottled mixture and turn it into a cleaning solution, remove its lid and ensure it's resting on a flat surface. Plug it into a USB port by using the charging cable in your kit. Press the button on the front of your plastic bottle until it beeps, and notice the bottle's green light blinking. Once an electrolyzing cycle is finished, the light will turn blue.
After 10 minutes have passed and an electrolyzing cycle is done, test your solution with one of the included test strips. If the pH is between 4 and 6 and the chlorine concentration is 200 or more, the solution's ready for use. A concentration of lower than 200 means you should complete another electrolyzation cycle, and a pH higher than 6 means a bit more vinegar should be added to the solution.
When your solution's ready, test it on a small part of the surface you want to clean. If you're satisfied with the results, wipe the surface with water and spray the solution onto the surface with your plastic spray bottle. Leave it for 10 minutes and then dry it off with a towel or cloth.
Traditionally, to make electrolyzed water to use as a disinfectant, people have had to use large machines. However, the Sanitru system will give you the ability to make it at home with three natural ingredients. When the vinegar, water, and salt are combined and electrolyzed, they'll create hypochlorous acid that's similar to bleach, plus sodium hydroxide, an effective detergent. These compounds, along with the help of the air-compressing spray bottle they're housed in, will disinfect and deodorize almost any greasy, grimy, dusty, or otherwise contaminated surface.
Unlike many other cleaning solutions, the Sanitru disinfecting and deodorizing solution doesn't contain any toxic chemicals, preservatives, or other additives. It makes use of only the three natural ingredients (vinegar, salt, water) mentioned above, which most people already have around their homes. Due to its non-toxic, natural configuration, it's safe to use around pets and children, although you should rinse any surface that's related to eating or food preparation with water after applying this disinfectant.
Along the same lines, this solution also contains no synthetic fragrances, and should never give off a strong or unpleasant odor. The only things you may smell while making it or using it are the smell of the vinegar as you add it to your bottle and a subtle fresh scent after spraying out the solution. As a result, it'll be far less likely to stuff you up than other cleaners that have synthetically added odors such as powerful floral or fruity scents.
When you use cleaning solutions that you purchase off the shelf, you may end up throwing each bottle out after the solution is gone and getting another one. Over time, if lots of people do the same thing, this creates a fair amount of plastic waste. Fortunately, you'll be able to use your Sanitru bottle as many as thousands of times to make a new batch of the corresponding cleaning solution before you need to throw it out.
On most surfaces, regardless of whether they're made from fabric, metal, stone, tile, wood, or something else, this cleaning solution is colorfast—meaning it won't discolor objects like bleach can. The only major exceptions are certain fabrics on which you're not supposed to use chlorine bleach, as this solution is a type of chlorine. To be completely sure of the solution's colorfastness on any surface, remember to test it on a small part of that surface and leave it for a few minutes before cleaning the entire surface.
All the pieces in each Sanitru system (plastic bottle, funnel, spoon, dropper, test strips, USB cord, instruction manual) are compact. That means you'll only need a small amount of storage space, such as one shelf in a small cabinet, to store the entire kit in when you're not using it. Likewise, if you want to transport your entire system to another location, such as your cottage or workplace, it should only take up a couple of feet of space in your vehicle.
It can be hazardous to clean children's items, such as plastic toys and games, with toxic chemical cleaning solutions since small children tend to put their toys in their mouths. When you use the all-natural Sanitru to clean their toys and games, though, you won't have to worry about exposing them to toxicity, especially if you rinse the items in water afterward. The same goes for objects that adults or pets might put in their mouths, such as your pet's toys or your kitchen utensils.
When it's empty, you can store your plastic Sanitru bottle anywhere, but when it's full or partially full of electrolyzed water, it must be stored in a place that's not exposed to direct sunlight. Once it's been stored, its contents will remain effective for up to 10 days, and for best disinfecting results, you should test its pH and concentration with your strips before each use. When it comes time to dispose of the solution, pour it down a sink.
