Rate this product

Remote Switch Light is a compact LED light that can be controlled from up to 50 feet away. You can peel off this light's adhesive backing and hang it up on virtually any wall or any other flat surface. Once that's done, you'll be able to control the light with the included wireless remote control, which can also be mounted as a light switch. One remote control will have the capability of controlling up to 20 of these lights, which all give off bright white illumination.

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of Remote Switch Light is $19.99 plus $5.00 shipping, for a total price of $24.99.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Match Number Sequence

To get started with your Remote Switch Light, you'll need to set a matching number sequence on both the switch and light. If you have any difficulty with doing so, consult your instruction manual. This will need to be done for each additional light that you'd like to synchronize with the same remote control.

  2. Mount Light

The quickest way to mount one of these lights is to peel off its adhesive backing and then stick the light's sticky side to the flat surface of your choice. However, you'll also have the option of attaching the light to certain surfaces more permanently, with an included set of brackets that will twist on and off. If you go with this option, there's a chance you'll need some small tools to help you along the way.

  3. Turn Light On

Once your light is hanging up where you want it to be, you'll need to hold down the "On" button on the remote control to turn on the light and activate its dimming system. Following that, you'll be able to control the brightness of your light. At this point, you may also want to set a 15 or 30-minute timer by moving a small rectangular button on one side of your remote control.

  4. Switch Light Off

If you haven't set a timer or want your light off immediately, use the "Off" button on your remote control switch to shut it off.

Features

  • White

Each Remote Switch Light and the remote control switch that comes with it will be white, so these two pieces will look good with the decor in almost any room. It's not a coincidence—these pieces have been designed with that in mind.

  • Lasts Up to 100,000 Hours

The LED bulbs within these lights will last for up to 100, 000 hours, so your light or lights may not burn out for years, even if you use them frequently. Plus, due to the cob LED system within each light, you'll be able to make each one brighter or dimmer when you desire with your remote control.

  • Battery Operated

Each Remote Switch Light and the included remote control are battery operated, which means that you'll never need electricity to operate either piece. As a result, they'll certainly come in handy when the power is out, or in areas that don't have electrical power, such as your shed. You can assume that you'll receive your first set of batteries with each new light you obtain, as it's not stated that you'll need to get them on your own.

  • Stays Cool To Touch

You won't have to worry about a child or anyone else burning their fingers on one of these lights since each one will stay cool to the touch. In the event that you want to move your light, you also won't be required to hold it in a certain manner to avoid burning yourself.

  • Water Resistant

The Remote Switch Light is water resistant, so you'll be able to use yours in the shower for some extra illumination to wake yourself up in the morning. Alternatively, to make your shower time more interesting, you might choose to shower in semi-darkness at nighttime with only this light for illumination. Furthermore, you'll be able to use one of these lights beside a pool or sink without being concerned about it getting damaged by water splatters.

Positive Points

  • Can Control From 50 Feet Away

It can be irritating to have to get up and turn a light on or off or change the dimmer while you're sitting on your couch or in your bed. Fortunately, you'll be able to control one of these LED lights from your bed or couch with your remote control, as long as the bed or couch isn't more than 50 feet from the light. Depending on how your home is laid out, you may even be able to turn a light on or off in another room without actually entering that room.

  • Helps People Stay Safe

Having one or more of these remote-controlled lights will help you and other people stay safe around your home. If you hang one up on your stairs or in any other dark area in which people often trip, the chances that anyone in your household will fall and break a bone will dramatically drop. This is especially important if you live with elderly people who walk stiffly or toddlers who are just learning to walk.

  • Will Help You Find Things

Aside from helping people stay safe, if you hang these lights up in places like dark cabinets, closets, and even large drawers, they'll help you find objects that you might otherwise consider misplaced. What's more, if you need some illumination in a space in which you don't have a light, such as your car's glove compartment, you can actually carry your light and remote control there. Each light is only about the size of a large apple, so it can be quickly carried by almost anyone.

Negative Points

  • Must Keep Batteries On Hand

After your first set of batteries, you'll be responsible for replacing all three batteries in each Remote Switch Light you have. If you don't remember to keep the appropriate batteries on hand, you'll have to stop using your light temporarily until you obtain some. Unfortunately, there's no way to charge any of these lights with a USB cable that's plugged into your computer or tablet, which is an option with some other battery operated devices these days.

  • Backing Might Lose Stickiness

If you choose to hang your light or multiple lights up by using the adhesive backing attached to each one, the backing may lose its stickiness over time. This will, of course, make the light eventually fall off the surface it's attached to. If you take your light down and move it a lot, you'll only increase the risk that its backing will lose its stickiness. There's always the option of hanging your light up with the included brackets, but this may not work on all surfaces and may be too complicated for some people.

Critical Advice

It's OK to use this light outdoors, but if there's going to be a huge rainstorm or snowstorm that'll expose yours to colossal amounts of water, it's best to bring it inside. Each light is water resistant enough to handle accidental drops or a trickle of water from the shower, but water resistance has its limits.
