Sources of Pain

When you are stressed or if you have poor posture it can cause some muscles in your back, shoulders, and neck to remain tense for a long period of time. Should your body be tense for a long period of time it results in muscle stiffness which can cause pain. Pain is simply the way your body tells you that something is wrong. There are thousands of reasons why you might have shoulder, neck, or back pain including something like bad sleeping habits, regular aging, or a more serious medical condition. In any case tension in the back, neck, and shoulders are generally caused by your body's stress response. As such, stress reducing techniques, healthy diet, and exercise can help you to reduce the amount of tension you have. Improved posture, even when you were sitting, can help you.

Massage and Heat

Beyond that, physically massaging the muscles that are tense can help you to improve circulation or reduce stress. Massages do not have to be given by a professional in order to do this. You can simply do it yourself. Vibration massages like those which are offered in the relief wraps can provide some relief but there is not a great deal of clinical evidence to support it. Similar to mechanical massages, heat therapy can penetrate your muscles, and prove your blood circulation by dilating your blood vessels. What's more, it can also decrease the pain signals that are sent to your brain. Spine health magazine recommends that you produce warm heat, enough to penetrate the muscles but not have to bring your skin over an extended period of time.

Penetrating heat can be achieved with electrical heating pads, wraps, hot baths, or even saunas. Thankfully, the heating and the vibration functions in this wraps can provide a modicum of benefits to the body and help you to relieve your pain.

How It Works

Relief wrap restores your relaxation by soothing away tension and reducing soreness in your shoulders and back. It stimulates blood flow and improve circulation with the heating elements. Doing so can reduce swelling, promote relaxation, decrease any discomfort in your joints, and offer stress relief.

Save Money

If you have very moderate tension in your back shoulders or neck if you can more easily save money by using something like this unit. Use this instead of spending hundreds of dollars per month on professional massages, trips to the sauna, or other tools that might not be as effective. Even if you do need professional massages, trips to the sauna, or other tools, and you can produce, potentially, the frequency with which you use them by using the relief wraps periodically.

How it's Different from Competitors

Other heating and vibrating units rely upon an element that is simply heated in the microwave, and elements like rice which might retain the heat for a few hours at a mild or moderate level. These options do not require electricity so they save you money but they do not offer the massaging option.

  • Pressure

The massage unit that is included is not going to be like a professional massage. You are not going to get serious pressure from plush heating unit like this. If you have serious problems or pain you would be better off getting adjusted by a professional.

  • Power

This unit does require some form of electrical outlet power it. You cannot simply use it on its own.

  • Coverage Area

Consider whether you actually need the heat and vibration in your neck, shoulders, or lower back. You might need the same therapy in the ankles, knees, or elbows. Relief wraps gives you a large coverage area but you can't really use it on any other part of your body. What's more, the one-size-fits-all design makes it almost impossible for really small or really large people to use it. It requires a cord and power but the court is only 9 feet long so you are somewhat limited in terms of where you can use it.

  • Cause of Pain

If you have mild or moderate muscle pain, the use of heat and vibrations might be helpful. However for symptoms like a pinched nerve, a non-muscular issue, or a slipped disc, it will not be effective.

  • Talk to Your Doctor

You should definitely talk to your doctor if you have chronic, or regularly occurring, back, neck, or shoulder tension. Series pain can be indicative of a serious problem. Speaking with your doctor can help you determine whether or not this release wrap is a good thing to use. Many doctors might suggest that you use it in addition to other types of therapy for professional massages.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Try Lying Down

Due to the pressure delivered by the massaging settings is not strong, it is recommended that you recline in the chair or lie down. Do this while you have it draped over your shoulders so that you can get a higher amount of pressure on your body.

Not Worth the Money

The massage function is so loud I can't hear myself think. The heating function isn't great. It doesn't stay on for two hours. The time it's on cannot be overridden. The massage function is weak. I wish I hadn't purchased it.

Waste of Money

Bought 2 of the ultra-deluxe heat wraps. Both stopped working after 3 and 4 weeks. Waste of money. I can’t return because I do not have a box or receipt. This product is GARBAGE.

Poor Quality

I am extremely discouraged and disappointed with this product. I had originally ordered one of these heating pads in December after receiving it I plugged it in and it did not work. I did notify the company and they did replace it however after using it for only 8 to 10 days this also stopped working. I would never ever recommend this product to anybody

Just wanted to let you all know this is a piece of Junk! Absolutely not at all like showed on TV, I ordered two, and am returning them, less my handling / processing fee they will not include it in your returned items, and I am out of pocket $17.83 shipping them back! I am so pissed! What does the 60 day guarantee cover then? Just the heating pads! These had vibrating units sewed into the shoulder area, buzzed, and did not massage, and one of the pads didn't even get warm, one moderately warm! This is a scam! Bad deal! Booooooo on ontel for selling these and scamming the public. Saw the ad on Fox News Channel and Fox News shouldn't let these crooks advertise on their station. Buyer Beware!

Massage Unit

I received the Relief Wrap as a gift. I am very pleased with the heat therapy portion but the massage unit is bulky, uncomfortable when sitting and it does NOT radiate up and down the back -- only in the shoulder area. But, I do manage to place the wrap in various positions to get the effect I desire.

This was a bad purchase and we are so disappointed with it. Cheap! I just called this morning to return the two I ordered, and was told I would not receive a return of my $14.99 handling / processing fee, and I had to pay to return the two heating pads. My cost out of pocket to return the pad was $17.83! Terrible! What a waste! The return address is - Relief Wrap return dept. 2880 n. Lamb blvd., las vegas, nv 89115, put your order number on the package or inside with your name and address. Good luck! I am anxious to get what's left back on my credit card, I hope it happens!

Not worth the price, I bought the two for one special, one for me and one for a friend. Only two loud massagers / vibrates and they are very large and bulky at the top sides of back on shoulder blades. Nothing on back or neck or lower back. Really though that this had 4 vibrating areas with the heat and I paid extra for the deluxe. Basically you get a long heat pad with loud vibration at the top. Also did not receive any paperwork to return or even an E to verify purchase.

Bad Design

The TWO large vibrating units right in the middle of your back is very uncomfortable. You can't sit in a chair and use this heating device because the two vibrating units are so hard and huge its ridiculous. I wouldn't purchase one for a friend.

Relief Wrap Worthless

The Relief Wrap heats and massages as it says but you can’t lean back against a chair or bed because the massage units are located right at the scapula area and are very uncomfortable and painful if you lean against them.

Doesn’t Work

I bought two, one for myself & one for a gift at two different stores. One at Walmart & one at Walgreens & neither one of them work. It says if there is a red blinking light. An error has occurred, unplug from outlet & check cord. Checked & rechecked about 10 times on different outlets & both wraps has blinking. My outlets are fine cause I plugged lamps in & they work fine. Taking both back.

Thank you all for your posts. I am sorry you had a bad experience and thank you for saving me from doing the same. I have ordered several items from the internet and found that dealing with any that ask for your billing information up front are mostly crooks. I wish we had a common internet page where we all could go and take turns ordering so instead of so many of us getting stuck only one or two would have these bad experiences. If there already is a place like this I sure would like to know about it. I have had one or two great dealings and would not mind being able to share that too. A site like th.

A True Scam

Today I ordered 2 Relief Wraps on-line with the second on being free and paying extra shipping and handling. I though my order would be around $75.00. The total was not shown until I put in all my payment information. The total ended up to be almost $190.00. And additional "bonus fee" of $30.00 was added as was a "web fee" of $1.00. I have been trying to cancel the order but navigating their web site difficult at best. I give this a negative 5 star rating at this point. I am still hoping to be able to cancel my order. More later.

Same Customer Service Problem as Garry!

Feeling bamboozled - very poor online ordering experience. They promote buy one wrap and get the 2nd free with a Seperate shipping charge. Total should have been $94. I did that, gave my credit card, and got an order confirmation chargind me over $180. I immediately called customer serice to cancel but they cannot. Despite having an order number I cannot get them to find my order online or via the phone to cancel, but I guaranteed my credit card has been charged. Bamboozled I tell ya!

Very Poor Customer Service

Last evening about 10pm I ordered a set of bogo Relief Wraps, for a total of 2pieces. The website then asked for credit info, address. The next window showed my order confirmation of a total of 4. I called them, I was told if I called at 9am this morning they could fix it for me. They lied. Customer service cannot fix an order once you have a confirmation number. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were busy. How convenient! Wish I had never ordered it. This is a very bad company to deal with. Was told that I could return the product when it arrived.
