Relief Seat is a cordless, heated cushion that you can use on any chair or anywhere else you sit, such as park bleachers, boat seats, or a wheelchair. This cushion will help relieve any back or bottom stiffness that you experience while sitting, and the small piece cut away from one area will relieve pressure on your tailbone. By flicking the button located on one side of the cushion, you can make it even more therapeutic by delivering warm heat to your back and bottom.
The cost of Relief Seat is $39.98 plus $14.99 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Relief Seat at the discounted price of only $14.99 for a total price of $69.96. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at buyreliefseat.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Relief Seat and has taken down the website. Relief Seat may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
This cushion is similar in shape to a standard chair cushion, but it's contoured, which will help with even weight distribution and eliminate the pressure normally put on certain points of the bottom and back. A small piece has also been cut away from the back of each cushion, directly below the place the tailbone will rest, helping relieve pressure on that often-sensitive area. These design features will make you feel fairly comfortable seconds to minutes after sitting down, but turning on your cushion's therapeutic heat will make the experience even more soothing for your body.
Each cushion comes in a dark shade of navy blue, so yours will look good almost anywhere, regardless of whether you're using it in the kitchen, in the office, on a carseat, or somewhere else. Of course, you could choose to cover it with fabric of another shade, but this may restrict your access to the button that turns the therapeutic heat on and off.
This cushion is also lightweight and portable, so you'll be able to bring it almost anywhere, even if you're travelling there on foot. It'll come in handy if you want to watch an athletic event outdoors in the fall or read in the park, but don't want to get a cold or sore bottom from a hard bench. You may even want to bring it to church if you find that the pews are hard!
The Relief Seat is battery operated, requiring 2 AA batteries. Batteries are not included with each cushion, but once you do obtain batteries, the cushion is rechargeable. Once it's fully charged, it'll give off heat for up to eight hours at a time without needing to be charged again. It'll still provide comfort without heat after it has temporarily lost its charge.
The cover of each cushion can be removed and run through the washing machine whenever it starts to look dirty. However, it's best not to use the cushion while the cover is off, as the cover helps hold the orthopedic foam within in an ideal shape.
If you must sit somewhere where you don't have control over the temperature for hours, you'll find your Relief Seat beneficial if it's cold or cool. Large buildings such as offices and schools tend to be cool inside, even in the summer, so if you're an office worker, teacher, or student, you might want to have yours with you every day. The cushion will deliver a steady stream of heat to your body without affecting the temperature around anyone else.
This cushion will provide relief from discomfort to anyone, but it'll be especially useful for people who are struggling with a lower back injury or a condition such as arthritis. The heat the cushion provides will help reduce pain and stiffness, while the shape and design of the cushion will promote proper posture so your risk of further injuring yourself will be reduced.
Although you must use electricity to charge up your cushion by plugging its charger into the wall, you won't need to use electricity every time you use the cushion, since one charge'll last for hours.
While the shade of navy that the Relief Seat comes in is nice-looking, it would be a good thing if there were more shades available. If everyone in a family or household gets a cushion, with all of them coming in navy, people may have a hard time telling them apart. This might not be a problem, but if someone feels that they have, over time, customized the cushion to the shape of their bottom, it could be.
Batteries aren't included with this cushion, so if you don't have batteries on hand when it arrives at your home, you'll have to go to the store and get some or order them online. That means you won't be able to start using your cushion to relieve lower-body discomfort immediately.
If they're thick enough, a lot of standard cushions can provide back and bottom support, but these won't deliver heat to your lower body like the Relief Seat does.
Many people use heating pads to soothe lower back and bottom pain, but these are thin and offer no cushioning, so you'll need to find a cushion to place your pad on anyway. If you get a Relief Seat instead, it'll act as a heating pad and cushion at the same time.
Investing in a heated chair is also an option, but unlike a heated cushion, these can't be quickly moved from location to location. Sometimes they're even difficult to move from room to room.
