Reheatza Microwave Crisper

425 Votes

Rate this product

Reheatza is a reheating and crisping microwavable unit. The secret behind it is the microwave heating pad which naturally converts microwave energy into conductive heat. In theory you know longer get soggy snacks or soft crust. This unit is designed to bring back the crunchiness in breaded fried foods that typically lose their crunch when they are left in the microwave. As such it is great for people who often have fried foods that they need to reheat but again.

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of Reheatza Microwave Crisper is $29.99 plus $6.99 shipping, for a total price of $36.98.

Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: reheatza.com

Reheatza Microwave Crisper gives you oven quality crispness straight out of the microwave.

  • Crisp Leftovers

Reheatza Microwave Crisper is perfect for crisping leftovers. It is ideally suited for making frozen or leftover pizza, eggs, bacon, grilled cheese sandwiches, and more.

  • Brown or Sear Food

It heats up to 400° and can be used to brown your food or sear your food the same way you would on a frying pan.

  • Bpa Free

It is BPA free and therefore safe for all foods and all microwaves.

  • Special Lid

The specially designed microwave-safe lid prevents your food from burning.

Pros

  • Use for Lots of Foods

You can have quality pizza right from the microwave with Reheatza Microwave Crisper. Crispy crust, gently warmed toppings, and even perfectly melted cheese is possible. Leftover pizza, frozen pizza, even homemade pizza. Create that crispy crust while preserving the cheese and the toppings for your pizza.

Use it for more than just pizza. Alternatively, use it to make grilled cheese sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, chicken wings, hamburgers, pizza rolls, fresh vegetables, frozen foods, even to reheat leftovers.

The custom venting lids circulate heat evenly to ensure everything gets cooked properly while maintaining all of the juiciness and the flavors.

  • Non Stick and Easy to Clean

When you are done using it you can simply wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

Cons

  • Only Reheats

This seems to really only be used for reheating food in the microwave and not necessarily something you would use for preparing foods on their own. Therefore if you are someone who doesn't reheat regularly this probably wouldn't do you much good.

How It Works

The microwave energized heating pan converts the microwave energy into conductive heat. As such, this means it cooks exactly the same as a grill. When your food is inside the microwave placed on top, the heat goes down through the bottom part of the pan, up through the top lid, and straight back down into the food. This process repeats regularly so that the food is perfectly created.

Reheatza is mostly meant for breaded foods. Due to the chemistry of cooking anything that contains a breaded service like pizza, chicken wings, French fries, or even quesadillas will fall flat once they have been put in the fridge. Once the chemical reactions and bonds are broken. This particular unit works much the same as an oven in so far as it reheats and rebinds the chemical processes in these foods. Again it works exactly the same way that it oven or grill would. So if you do not use the microwave that often or you want something that helps you reheat your food much faster this would be it.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Place Food Down

Place any food on the cooking surface.

  2. Cover

    Cover with the lid.

  3. Reheat

Put it in the microwave and reheat it.

  4. Enjoy

    Enjoy your delicious food.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Marshmallows

One fun thing you can do with this unit is to load it with jumbo marshmallows and then put it inside the microwave. When you take the marshmallows out you'll see that they're perfectly browned and crisp on the outside while still gooey on the inside. You can take them out and make s'mores without ever having to build a campfire or worrying about burning the marshmallows.

Warnings

  • Don't Overfill

While the Reheatza Microwave Crisper will hold quite a bit of food, such as two or three standard pieces of pizza at once, be sure not to overfill it. If you do, there's a chance that food will expand or move as it's being heated, causing the lid of your device to pop off and food to splatter all over your microwave. If each piece of food in your crisper can't sit fairly flat in its own space, without bumping up against another piece of food, you've likely filled the crisper too full.

  • Don't Heat for Too Long

When it comes to any type of food you're going to reheat in your crisper, follow the microwave directions on the original package of food. Ensure that you don't keep your crisper in the microwave any longer than the directions specify, or your food could end up overcooked. If no directions came with your food, heat your crisper for just a few minutes at a time ( at most) , and then open your microwave up to check and see how it's doing. That way, nothing will end up burnt to a crisp and unsuitable for eating.

  • Don't Put in Oven

This crisper has been designed for use in a microwave oven only. It's not suitable for use on a stovetop, in a traditional oven, in a convection oven or toaster oven, or on a hot plate. If you were to put this crisper in a traditional oven, you'd end up with inedible food at best and a fire in your kitchen at worst. Besides leaving it out of the oven, you must also refrain from putting any other dish, even a microwave-safe bowl or plate, inside this device.

Critical Advice

Even if your crisper's inner black plate looks clean, be sure to wipe it off in between each use. Otherwise, residue that's left behind from what you previously cooked could end up giving you food poisoning, especially if it's been a few days since you've cooked the previous item( s). Keep it mind that it's best to wait until the inner plate has cooled down to room temperature before starting to wipe it with a damp cloth.

Save Money

Without a device like the Reheatza Microwave Crisper, you may not want to eat your leftover fried food the day after, and may end up throwing it out. When you have a crisper like this on hand, though, it'll make leftover fried food taste just as crispy as it did when it was originally cooked, so you won't need to toss it. Being able to eat your reheated leftovers will, consequently, lead to less trips to the store to stock up on new frozen fried food on a daily or weekly basis. You may also be less tempted to go to a restaurant and order chicken wings or fries, since you'll be able to make ones that are just as crispy in your Reheatza.

Save Time

The Reheatza Microwave Crisper functions like a mini-oven, cooking things just as effectively at a temperature of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, but it cooks things much more quickly than a traditional oven. Therefore, instead of spending about a half hour's time cooking mozzarella sticks or pizza rolls for your family, or making flavorful frozen egg rolls for yourself, you'll be able to do these things in minutes.

I have something to say!

Threw Mine Away.

The Reheatza managed the gasket to my microwave. Use as directed. Within 90 seconds there was popping. Immediately stopped the microwave. There was a 2" spot on the top of the gasket. The oven is a better brand and less then a year old. Now I have to have it repaired and worst it is a built in and the trim kit and wood molding has to be removed at great expense to me. DO NOT put this piece of crap in your microwave! I threw it away.

I Agree With all the bad Reviews

This item does not work the way they it does. I did get some decent meals out of it, but NOT by following the cooking instructions. I complained several times after filling out a survey from them. They said they are sending a refund, but I haven't gotten it yet.

Blew a Breaker in my Microwave

Don't waste your money like I did. The Reheatza made soggy grilled cheese sandwiches and when I tired to make french fries it make my 1100 watt microwave over blow a breaker and shut off. After about 20 minutes I was able to unplug/plug in the microwave and it reset, but I will never try the Reheatza again.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a scam. I paid $59.98 for two crispers plus shipping charges and because it did not work well, I returned them paying $20+ shipping charges to send it back. I receive an email telling me they are refunding me $19.99. I have been trying to call but cannot reach them. I will be posting on facebook.

I regret buying this product. It is not worth the price. I tried to make a grilled cheese. It melted the cheese but would not crisp the bread as shown in demonstrations. I had to brown it in a skillet. Not worth it to me.

Same thing happened to me. The clock went off (no power) and I was like wtf happened here. Was googling it till I found this post. S'no good. Well lucky for me, it suddenly just went back on after a few minutes. I'm gonna give it 1 more try, if it's ok after that I'll keep at it. The owner of this place replaces our appliances at no charge anyway, regardless of how they break x).

I have a Question

Microwave Watts

Everything I've read says "No more than 2minutes for 1200 watts" to heat up the bottom plate.
Our microwave is 1250 watts. Are 2minutes still ok? If not, how long do we heat the bottom plate?

Geting Some Help

I just got my unit and I don't have the extra silicone washer that my unit calls for. So can I get one from you. Also does this unit have to work on a turntable. When I ordered it and on the TV commercial it doesn't say that it is only to be used on one.

People Are so Gullible, This is Just Another Scam

Just go to Walmart and buy a microwave crisping pan for around $6.00. If it's not what you thought they were just take it back on your next planned shopping visit to Walmart.
