Purrfect Mat is a mat that will catch stray cat litter that your cat has on their paws or that they toss out of their litter box as they do their business. If you place this mat directly in front of where your cat enters and exits the litter box, its multitude of small honeycomb holes will allow pieces of litter to fall through and be collected. When your cat walks out, the 3-D texture of the mat will also gently remove stray pieces of litter from their paws.
The cost of Purrfect Mat is $19.99 and the shipping is FREE! Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: purrfectmat.com
To start using this mat, place it in front of your cat's litter pan with the front edge tucked under the edge of the pan. Make sure the navy blue side of the mat with the honeycomb holes is facing upward, or else pieces of litter won't end up being collected properly.
Once the Purrfect Mat has been placed, your cat can continue to use their litter pan as they normally do. If they kick litter out of the pan as they dig, you'll notice that it falls through the mat's honeycomb holes in order to collect in the pocket inside. You'll also notice that the same thing happens to any stray pieces of litter on their paws as they emerge from and exit the pan. If any pieces of litter are ever left behind on the mat's top, you can simply nudge them through the honeycomb holes with your fingers.
Each day, or at least every two days, you'll need to dump the litter that has collected within the inner pocket of your mat into the trash. As you carry it there, just make sure the honeycomb holes aren't facing downward, so you can avoid any pieces of litter falling out onto the floor and thereby defeating the purpose of the mat.
Whenever you notice that your mat's getting dirty, or about once a week otherwise, you should rinse it off with water. Due to its waterproof base, no water will drip out the bottom as you clean it or carry it back to its usual location.
Each of these mats has a dark gray top, but each of them also has a beige bottom, so you'll be able to quickly determine whether the correct side (the top) is facing up.
The Purrfect Mat measures 24 by 22 inches, which makes it a suitable size to be used with the majority of litter pans. Even a large male cat will likely find it comfortable to stand and walk on.
This mat has a non-slip base, so if your cat scratches it or trips as they exit their litter box, it'll stay in the same place on the floor. The base is also waterproof, so if the cat ever goes to the bathroom on the mat, the waste will stay within its inner pocket without seeping through the bottom onto your floor.
Besides catching stray litter, this mat can also double as a cat scratcher and a doormat. If you turn it over to the beige side when your cat's not using their litter box, your cat will be able to use it to sharpen their claws. In the event that you're not using it near the little box at all, even temporarily, you may want to place it near a door so people can use it to wipe their feet. For this, make sure the beige side is facing upward, too.
If you have one or more cats, you may find that you're constantly vacuuming or sweeping up stray bits and clumps of litter around your litter boxes, in order to keep your floors clean. Fortunately, if you put down a Purrfect Mat in front of each litter box in your home, you'll no longer have to do this. Aside from emptying the mat regularly, the only thing you may have to do with your hands is occasionally push a few bits of litter through the holes on the top of each mat.
Regardless of the age, size, gender or physical fitness level of your cat, this mat will always work with a high level of effectiveness, as long as it's clean. It's actually ideal if you have a kitten who's not quite litter-trained or a senior or disabled cat who might have accidents since its waterproof base will allow it to catch liquid waste. It doesn't matter what brand or type of litter you use, either, as this mat will catch all kinds in the same way.
Be sure to rinse your Purrfect Mat off on a regular basis, even if it doesn't look filthy. If you rinse it infrequently, pieces of litter may get stuck in the small honeycomb holes, which'll block them off and prevent them from catching new pieces of litter.
You might be tempted to cut this mat down to a smaller size if you have a small litter pan or small cat, but you shouldn't do this. If you do, this'll ruin the seal of the edges of the pocket inside, and it'll no longer collect up litter as it would otherwise.
