To start cleaning your CPAP machine with this sanitizing device, connect your machine's hose to the large circular valve that you'll find on one end of the portable sanitizing tool. Make sure the connection is secure so that it isn't broken after you turn the tool on.
You'll notice that there's a zip-up bag attached to your sanitizing tool, and you'll need to zip your CPAP machine's mask and water tank inside that bag to have them cleaned. You can zip them in individually, but there's nothing wrong with putting both in together, provided that they'll fit properly.
With your mask and water tank zipped securely into the attached bag, plug your plastic sanitizing tool into electricity and hold down the round power button for a couple of seconds. This will activate the cleaning process. The default amount of time that it'll take is 30 minutes, and once those 30 minutes have passed, the sanitizing device will simply beep and turn itself off.
Finally, after your sanitizing device has shut itself off, disconnect it from your CPAP machine by undoing the connection between its valve and the machine's hose. Following that, you'll be able to store your sanitizing device away in a safe place and use your CPAP machine as you normally would, after you've reconnected the water tank and the mask.
If they're not cleaned regularly, CPAP machines can accumulate dust, allergens, and a variety of germs inside. Plus, the moist, humid environment inside each machine can also serve as an excellent breeding ground for the growth of bacteria and mold. To help you solve this problem quickly, your PurePAP device will sanitize the water tank, mask, and hose of your machine with activated oxygen. Once you start up the device, this activated oxygen will flow through it as a sanitizing solution within 30 minutes, and destroy 99.9 percent of the harmful pathogens that may be hanging out inside it. When you use this sanitizing device regularly, you'll end up exposing yourself to fewer pathogens via your CPAP machine. This, in turn, means that you'll be less likely to experience symptoms of allergies and colds or other viruses.
The PurePAP device can be referred to as lightweight, as the whole thing only weighs 16 ounces, including the attached sanitizing bag. As a result, almost anyone will be able to move it around their home without a problem. If you have multiple CPAP machines that need to be cleaned at your residence, moving this device around will likely be a more efficient option than moving individual machines.
Similarly, aside from being able to move this device around your house or apartment, you'll be able to bring it with you on vehicle trips. It'll take up a foot or two of space, at most, and you can charge the battery beforehand at home if you don't want to plug it in when you get to your destination.
Regardless of whether you've plugged this sanitizing device into an electrical outlet or have chosen to use its battery's power on its own, it'll be a hands-free sanitizing tool. After you hook your CPAP machine to it and put the appropriate parts in the sanitizing bag, you'll be able to press the power button and walk away while it does its cleaning job. Since you won't have to be constantly looking at or adjusting the device, you may be able to accomplish other chores while it does its work.
Some devices that have been designed to clean CPAP machines can be loud as they run, but that won't be the case when you use the PurePAP to clean yours. Instead, it'll run quietly, so if you want to read or watch television as the sanitization process progresses, the machine won't interfere with your ability to do so peacefully. It also won't disturb a partner who is trying to sleep.
Once you've charged your device's lithium-ion battery for a couple of hours, this charge will last for at least six 30-minute cleaning cycles, and possibly throughout a couple more. You won't find yourself having to recharge the battery every single day (unless you need to clean more than six machines per day).
To use your PurePAP machine properly, you'll never need to add soap, water, or any other cleaning solution or disinfectant to it. The only thing you'll need to clean any compatible CPAP machine with this device is the oxygen it emits after you've turned it on. Therefore, you won't have to keep any additional cleaning supplies on hand or waste any water that you might need for drinking or bathing.
If you've noticed that your CPAP machine begins to smell kind of funky over time, that's likely because a buildup of dirt, mold, and bacteria can lead to the development of unpleasant odors. Fortunately, since your PurePAP machine will get rid of 99.9 percent of this buildup, your CPAP machine will smell much more pleasant if you use this sanitizing device on a daily or weekly basis. In fact, after it's been cleaned, it may not emit any odor at all, which means the room it's sitting in may also smell much nicer.
As alluded to above, a default cleaning cycle with this sanitizing device is 30 minutes long, but you can adjust the device's cleaning cycle to make it either shorter or longer. A shorter cleaning time may come in handy when you're incredibly busy, while a longer session may be preferable if you've neglected cleaning your machine and want to give it a round of deeper sanitization. To find out exactly how to change the length of your device's cleaning cycle, consult your instruction manual.
Those people who don't clean their CPAP machine frequently may notice that it wears out quickly, and they may need to replace their machine as often as once a year. On the other hand, if you clean your machine with your PurePAP device once a day or even once a week, it may last you for several years—or, even better, for a decade or longer.
