The PowerXL Microwave Airfryer looks like a traditional microwave oven, but it's been engineered to allow users to bake and air-fry food within it, too. This stainless steel and black microwave with a transparent door contains a touch-screen that's been included to enable users to cycle quickly between the three functions. Each family-size microwave comes with an air-frying rack and a baking pan that can be paired together to create multi-item meals, and a recipe guide.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Set up on Flat Surface

Before you start using your PowerXL Microwave Airfryer, set it up on a flat surface in your kitchen and plug it into electricity. The appliance is 20 inches wide, about 13 inches tall, and about 20 inches deep, so it won't take up much more space on a countertop than a microwave typically would. As usual, be sure that it's not sitting too close to the edge of the surface that it's resting upon.

  2. Prepare the First Dish

Next, prepare the first dish of food that you'd like to make in this appliance for cooking. Depending on what you'll be cooking, you may want to use the included baking pan on its own or place the included air-frying rack on top of the baking pan. If you want to use another dish or plate that you already have, keep in mind that you can only use heat-resistant glass in this device. Similarly, metal can only be used if you'll be air-frying or baking, instead of microwaving.

  3. Set Timer and Cook

Once your chosen dish is ready to be cooked, you can slide it into your appliance and use the touch-screen display panel to select air-frying, baking, or microwaving. There are some pre-set cooking buttons you can use, but you may need to use other buttons to set the time and temperature on your own. Your recipe guide will help you determine an ideal time and temperature, and if you're having trouble finding the correct buttons, you should consult your instruction manual. For most functions, you'll also need to twist the start knob to the right to start the cooking process.

  4. Remove Food and Serve

When your appliance beeps, you'll be able to remove your food in the same way you'd normally remove it from a microwave. If it's well-cooked, you can transfer it to a serving plate or dish, but if not, it can be cooked for a few minutes longer.

How It Works

When being used as a microwave, the PowerXL Microwave Airfryer will deliver 1000 watts of power, which will enable it to cook food quickly, all the way through. Moreover, when you convert it into a baking oven with the press of a button on its touch-screen, it'll deliver 1500 watts of power and bake dishes at temperatures between 100 and 425 degrees Fahrenheit. It'll offer you even more power (1800 watts) when it's being used as an air-fryer, and throughout the air-frying process, hot air will surround the food inside the device in a 360-degree circle. This will allow the outside of the food items to become crispy and brown, while their insides remain moist and flavorful.

  • Clear Clock Display

The time is displayed on each of these appliances in fairly large blue numbers against a black background, so the vast majority of people shouldn't have trouble reading the display. As with most microwaves, while you cook a dish of food, the display will show the amount of time remaining, as opposed to the actual time on the clock.

  • Rotating Turntable

Some microwave ovens have plates that don't rotate inside them, which means that one side of a food dish may receive more heating than the others, resulting in uneven cooking overall. Fortunately, however, the PowerXL Microwave Airfryer contains a rotating turntable, so all sides of any dish you heat within this appliance will be cooked evenly (regardless of whether you're microwaving, baking, or air-frying).

  • Transparent Door

Each of these appliances has a transparent door, which means you'll be able to get a glimpse of your food if it's cooking. As a result, if a dish starts splattering or boiling over, you'll be able to quickly open up the appliance and make adjustments.

  • 28 Preset Functions

All of the PowerXL Microwave Airfryers are equipped with 28 preset cooking functions. Some of these pertain to microwaving, while others pertain to air-frying or baking. These include preset functions for items that are commonly prepared in a microwave, such as French fries, pizza, or popped popcorn. There are also preset function buttons for defrosting food and keeping food warm after it's been cooked.

  • Family Size

Every one of these multi-function appliances has an inner capacity of one cubic foot, which means each one will hold enough food for an average-sized family to consume at one meal. As for each device's weight capacity, it's specified that each one will hold a turkey that weighs up to 12 pounds.

Positive Points

  • Promotes Healthy Diet

If you choose to fry food items in a frying pan on the stove, you'll likely need to use oil to do so effectively. On the other hand, if you air-fry the same items in a PowerXL Microwave Airfryer, you won't need to add oil or any other potentially calorie-filled lubricant. Therefore, using this appliance instead of frying food on your stovetop will likely lead to a lower calorie intake for you (and anyone you cook for). If you're trying to lose weight or to simply become more healthy, making the switch will probably help you out.

  • Dishwasher-Safe Accessories

Aside from having non-stick surfaces, some of the cooking accessories that you can get with this appliance are dishwasher safe. That means that if you have a dishwasher, you won't find yourself trying to scrub stubborn, sticky food residue off of them in front of your sink. Before you put a particular accessory in your dishwasher, though, check your instruction manual to determine whether that particular one is safe to be cleaned in there.

Save Time

To cook a complete meal, including the main course, appetizers, and dessert, you might normally have to get out a few separate countertop cooking appliances and turn your oven on. Alternatively, if you have a PowerXL Microwave Airfryer, you may be able to cook the entire meal in just this one device—while taking only minutes to cook each item. You'll be able to start cooking immediately, without waiting for the appliance to heat up, and fewer appliances used means that you'll have less clean-up to do after your meal is over.

Power XL Microwave, Oven, air Fryer Combo

Can Power XL reviewed above, sit on a counter under an upper cabinet. There will be about 6 inches of open space between the top of the unit and the bottom of the upper cabinet. My concern is doing oven release a lot of hot air or steam that could damage the cabinet finish. Thank You.
