Pet Groom & Vac is a cordless, rechargeable device that's been designed to act as a grooming brush and a vacuum for excess pet hair at the same time. As you glide the device's snag-free ceramic blade across your dog's fur, it's stated that any excess fur the blade picks up is simultaneously vacuumed into the device's inner chamber. This vacuuming effect has been included with the aim of helping you keep messy bits of dog fur off your furniture, floors, and clothing.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Add Glide Comb of Choice

Before you can use your Pet Groom & Vac, you'll need to make sure the glide comb of your choice (there are two to choose from) is attached to the top. For your safety, the device must remain off while you attach your chosen comb. If you're not sure which one to select, you can use trial and error and switch to the opposite one later, if needed. For more detailed instructions as to how to attach a glide comb to your device, consult your instruction manual.

  2. Power up Device

Next, use the round silver power button on the handle of the device to turn it on. It has three speeds, and to make it go faster, you can push it either one or two extra times. If you've never used this type of brush on your dog before, though, it's best to keep it on the lowest speed setting at first and work up from there.

  3. Use on Dog's Fur

Once your device is on, it'll be time to start using it to trim your dog's coat. In order to do so, you'll need to tip the ceramic blade toward the dog's fur coat. Along the same lines, if you only want to comb your dog's fur without cutting it at all, you'll have to tip the blade away from his or her coat. This device can safely be used to groom almost all areas of a dog's body, such as their belly, cheeks, paws, back, arms, and stomach.

  4. Empty Device

When you're done grooming your pet, you'll notice that some fur has been collected in your grooming device's transparent inner chamber. To dispose of this, press the power button one to three times to turn off the device, and then detach the chamber. Following that, dump the collected fur into a wastebasket or some sort of trash receptacle.

  • Suitable for All Dogs

You can groom virtually any dog's coat with the Pet Groom & Vac, regardless of the dog's age, fur texture, size, or breed. The two glide combs that come with each device are adjustable, so no matter which one you choose, you'll be able to customize it to suit your dog's body size and fur texture. Due to this grooming device's versatility, you'll also be able to use it on the coats of multiple dogs, instead of getting more than one grooming tool for a multi-dog household.

  • Cordless

Since this grooming device contains a rechargeable battery, it's to be used cordlessly, which means you won't have to pull around an extension cord as you use it. That means you'll be able to get at hard-to-reach areas on your dog's coat, such as under their arms, without having to put yourself in an awkward position. You also won't have to be concerned about accidentally pulling an extension cord out of the wall while the device is in use.

  • Rechargeable

On a related note, the battery within each of these grooming devices is rechargeable, and a charging cable that's to be plugged into a wall outlet is included with each one. To charge your device, simply plug one end of the cable into the tool and the other end into a wall outlet, and leave it there to charge for as long as you'd like. If you're going to be headed somewhere where you may not have access to electricity, but you think you might need this grooming tool, charging it for a few hours first will be beneficial.

  • Whisper Quiet

The presence of a vacuum might typically indicate noise, but this device's built-in vacuum will actually be whisper-quiet as it vacuums up your dog's excess fur. Therefore, you'll be able to use this grooming device without hurting your own ears, scaring your dog or bothering other people or pets around you.

Positive Points

  • Other Accessories Included

Aside from the two glide combs that come with each Pet Groom & Vac, two manual tools are also included with each device. These include a large grooming comb and a smaller grooming brush. If you need to do just a bit of brushing or combing, without any trimming, you may want to pick up one of these tools instead of starting up your motorized device.

  • Helps Reduce Mess

If you use a hairbrush or even a grooming brush without an inner chamber to groom your dog's fur, you might end up finding chunks or pieces of fur all over your floors and furniture. It may also end up all over you! Fortunately, any fur that's trimmed or shed by your dog while you're using the Pet Groom & Vac will end up in its inner chamber, so it won't create a mess anywhere else. Emptying out the inner chamber will take only seconds while cleaning up flooring and furniture might take several minutes or more.

  • Gentle on Dog

Besides being capable of making a mess, some grooming brushes that aren't like the Pet Groom & Vac may pull aggressively on your dog's fur as you groom them. Logically, this will make grooming an unpleasant experience for your dog, and they may even become aggressive themselves when you approach them for a session. This particular grooming device will teach them to tolerate grooming, though, since its ceramic blade offers a gentler, snag-free cutting experience.

Negative Points

  • Just for Dogs

If you're looking for a grooming tool that you can also use on another animal, such as a cat or a rabbit, this one may not be the best choice. It's been designed specifically for dogs, and it may be too heavy-duty for smaller animals to handle. A large cat that's as big as a small dog may be able to handle being groomed with one of these tools, but it'll likely terrify and overwhelm most small animals.

Save Money

Many people take their dog to a professional groomer as often as each week, because they can't be bothered with grooming the dog themselves, especially if the dog fusses during a session. However, you may be able to stop hiring a groomer once you've got a Pet Groom & Vac, since this tool may turn grooming your dog at home into a smooth, no-fuss process.
