The Perfecter Ultra is a hair styling tool that can be used to achieve a wide range of looks normally requiring multiple devices. It has a unique design with variety of beneficial materials included in its construction, like ceramic for heat distribution considerations. An important feature of this device is the presence of two separate heating components. The product can be easily controlled with buttons found on the handle, and has a swiveling cord that won't impede movement while in use.
The cost of Perfecter Ultra is $119.96 plus $14.99 shipping, for a total price of $134.95. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at perfecterultra.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Perfecter Ultra and has taken down the website. Perfecter Ultra may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
The twin barrels that form the bulk of this item contain ceramic. This material is ideal for styling purposes because it heats up relatively quickly and evenly throughout its entire surface area.
Each side of the device has its own heater on the inside surface. When clamped onto the hair, this allows for more coverage by treating it from two sides at once.
The back of each extending arm on the Perfecter Ultra features a rounded layer of nylon teeth for brushing, gripping and similar hair care tasks. Nylon is the perfect material for these purposes because it is strong in structure while remaining soft to the touch. This substance is also a poor conductor of heat, so it will be remain cool and safe, even when using at high temperatures.
On top of the heating components, the Perfecter Ultra has been finished with a coating of fine black tourmaline. Also known as schorl, this crystal contains an abundance of minerals like magnesium, sodium and potassium that can aid in maintaining healthy hair.
A group of buttons and small display can be found near the top of the handled area on this tool. Users can select from three heat settings and can also reference the screen as a pilot light that displays the rising temperature.
The Perfecter Ultra is an effective styling device because it delivers two different types of treatment to the hair. When electricity is applied to the ceramic plates they radiate energy from the far infrared area of the spectrum. This form of heat penetrates to the root and provides a quick drying action. The second type of treatment comes in the form of ionization. Simply put, an ion is a charged particle. Negatively charged particles can perform a variety of tasks, but in this case, what matters most is that they act to break up the water molecules that bind to wet hair. This allows heat and nutrients to penetrate more surface area. Black tourmaline is known to produce an abundance of negative ions when heated, while ceramic may generate both positive and negative particles to a lesser extent.
There are several aspects of this product that were developed with safety in mind. It has an automatic shutoff feature that prevents fires or burns from forgotten devices. Also, the nylon teeth are resistant to heat and remain cool enough to reach all the way to the scalp without fear of burning.
The Perfecter Ultra is a four in one hair styling and care tool. Its design combines that of a traditional hair straightener with a heated brush. As a result, this product is capable of replacing both of its parent devices, in addition to hair dryers and curling irons.
Nylon teeth provide a gentle but firm grip so that hair can be thoroughly brushed without ripping and tearing. Its lack of heat conduction reduces the chances of dehydration and prevents burn damage to the scalp. Also, floating ceramic plates transfer energy to the hair without much physical force, and prevent hair from being crushed by the clamping mechanism.

I bought the Perfecter Ultra through QVC and paid almost $80 for it. The on/off switch quit working within a short time, then it began to fall apart to the point one arm detached from the base. It is totally unusable. $80 wasted--will never buy from this company again!
