Each One Minute Chiller contains two stainless steel chambers, with one inside of the other. To get your chilling device ready for use, all you'll need to do is put it in the freezer until these chambers are icy-cold, and then add your beverage to the device. The chiller's ice-cold chambers will cool your drink in just one minute's time while keeping any melting ice away from the drink so it cannot dilute it.
This thermos is black and emblazoned with its name and logo, so if you have multiple thermoses lying around, you'll be able to put your hands on this particular one quickly.
The One Minute Chiller will hold up to 12 ounces of any drink, which is about the same amount that will fit in a coffee mug or a tall juice glass. Hence, if you normally drink one full cup of iced coffee at a time, you won't need to cut back when using this device.
As long as you've prepped it in the freezer beforehand, you won't have to wait around for this thermos to do its work. It'll chill virtually any drink in 60 seconds, regardless of how hot the drink is to begin with.
Besides coffee, you can also use this device to chill any type of juice, soda, tea, water, or even alcohol. This will come in handy if you forget to put a certain beverage in the fridge on a hot day, or your child has decided they'll accept nothing besides a freezing cold glass of juice. Even if your tea is steaming when you pour it into the One Minute Chiller, the thermos will still be able to dramatically reduce its temperature in a minute.
If you and everyone in your household has a thermos of this type, you may be able to save space in your refrigerator. Instead of keeping all the beverages that are best consumed cold in the fridge, you might choose to keep them somewhere else and use your Chiller to cool each down when needed. This, in turn, will leave you more refrigerator space for perishable food.
Since this thermos is made of stainless steel on the inside, with a plastic shell, it won't break easily like a ceramic coffee mug or a cup made out of glass. If you drop yours on the floor, the drink inside might dribble out, but the container itself will likely stay intact. Therefore, it may last you for years without needing to be replaced.
The One Minute Chiller has a larger circumference than most thermoses, so depending on the size of your hand, and the level of dexterity you have, you may find it somewhat hard to hold onto.
To keep your thermos cold enough to chill your drinks, you'll need to put it in the freezer periodically. If you're somewhere without access to a freezer, such as a campsite or a workplace that just has a fridge, the thermos might become too warm to cool your beverages effectively.
Of course, you can add ice cubes to drinks to cool them, but to do so, you'll need to either buy a bag of ice or spend time making cubes yourself. Furthermore, ice often melts within hot or lukewarm drinks, diluting each drink and thereby making it not taste as good as usual.
Iced drinks can also be purchased at fast-food places and coffee shops, but you'll need to travel to these places to get them, not to mention shell out cash when you get there.
You might think that literally freezing a drink is a good idea if you enjoy drinking it cold, but first of all, you'll need to wait for it to melt a little before drinking it. Secondly, you'll run into the same problem as you would when adding ice to drinks—your drink will become diluted as it melts. Plus, it's difficult to freeze some types of alcohol, because their freezing point is higher than that of water or water-based beverages such as coffee and tea.
For best results, leave your One Minute Chiller in the freezer for as long as possible, so it's able to get as cold as possible, in between each use.
If you regularly make ice cubes manually in trays, you may not need to do this as often once you start using your new thermos, so you may notice a decrease in your water bill.
