Micro Mate is a round, white plate that's microwave-safe and has been created for the purpose of evenly heating virtually any type of food in the microwave at a rapid speed. Its unique textured design has been fashioned to help the plate circulate your microwave's energy around and under any food item, which is likely to lead to even heating. This non-stick plate is dishwasher safe and free of the potentially harmful chemical compound known as BPA, which is still found in some plastic cookware.
The cost of Micro Mate is $14.95 plus $4.95 shipping, for a total price of $19.90.

To get started with your plate, select any food item from your fridge or freezer and place it on the plate, with the side of the plate that's most textured facing up. You can place the food item anywhere on the plate, such as in the middle or on one side, and the plate will help enable it to be heated evenly. Although you can if you want to, you won't need to wrap the food or sit it on top of anything besides your plate's plastic surface.
Next, slide both your food and your microwaveable plate into your microwave and select an appropriate heating time. Since this plate is supposed to make your food cook more efficiently, you may want to set the timer for a few seconds less than you normally would when using another plate. This plate will also cook food without allowing it to splatter, so if you normally use a plastic dome-shaped cover, it won't be needed any longer.
When your microwave beeps, signaling that your food is done cooking, pull your Micro Mate out with your hands. This plate will always stay cool to the touch, which means that you won't burn yourself, no matter where you place your fingers on it. Following that, transfer your heated food to a serving plate or dish and either put your microwave-safe plate in your dishwasher or rinse it off in your sink.
Each Micro Mate plate is white, which will help you notice when it's getting dirty. Each one is also round, the same size as the glass heating surface found in most microwave ovens. However, it appears as if this plate is a bit smaller than most glass heating surfaces, so fitting it in your microwave probably won't be a tight squeeze.
Using one of these plates will enable you to warm food such as leftovers and strips of bacon up to 80 percent more efficiently than you'd be able to with another plate. That means you'll be able to get your food into a warm and crispy state in less time than that would usually take. Plus, one of these plates will heat your food from all angles, so even if you've got a microwave that doesn't rotate the food inside, you likely won't find any hot or cold spots.
Aside from being free of BPA, as mentioned above, the plastic used to create each Micro Mate has also been approved by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as being food safe. Therefore, you won't need to worry about exposing yourself or your family and friends to toxicity when heating up food with one of these plates.
This microwave-safe plate isn't a disposable plate that you'll need to throw away after a few uses—in fact, you may be able to use yours on a daily basis for years without needing a replacement. You should always wash it in the dishwasher or with soap and water after using it for meat, fish or dairy items, but just rinsing it is safe after you warm vegetables or fruit.
When you use some types of microwave-safe plates, you'll just get soggy food that doesn't taste anything like what you'd get out of the oven. With the Micro Mate plate, though, its method of circulating heat will result in your food becoming fairly crispy, but not so much that it tastes burnt or hard. As a result, you'll be able to enjoy things like French fries, chicken fingers and frozen pizza that taste the way they should without turning on your oven.
With other microwave-safe plates, especially if you're cooking meat-based things such as frozen strips of bacon, splatters and stains may end up all over the walls of your microwave. Once these are there, they can take up to a half hour to be cleaned off, and they may just appear again the next time you use the same old plate. Fortunately, if you switch to a Micro Mate, it'll keep any greasy splatters confined within the plate and away from the rest of your microwave oven.
Most people have experienced those days when they get up late and don't have time to cook breakfast on their stovetop or need to whip up a tasty dinner for the family in minutes. Your Micro Mate plate will help you out on those days since you'll be able to use it to make food quickly without sacrificing taste. If you've got kids and they don't see you cooking dinner, what comes off one of these plates might taste so good that they'll think it came from the oven.
One of these plates will hold enough food to feed most families, but it may not be able to accommodate enough food for some large groups of people. If you're cooking for a group of more than five or so people, you might choose to use an oven-safe pan instead, simply because of its larger size. Otherwise, you'd have to cook part of your meal at once, rinse your microwave-safe plate and then cook the rest. A bigger version of the Micro Mate could be created, but then it probably wouldn't fit in the vast majority of microwaves.
Without a microwave-safe plate like this one, you might end up throwing out your leftovers after a day or two since they simply don't taste good when heated up. Once you've got one of these plates, you may be able to save your leftovers for up to a week, though, since they will taste better when heated in the microwave. If you make this change, you'll be making far fewer trips to the grocery store for replacement food.
Waiting for an oven to heat up can add approximately 15 minutes to your meal preparation time. This might not sound like much, but with the busy lifestyles most people lead today, it can be. If you use your Micro Mate to make microwaved food that tastes like it's come out of the oven, you'll shave up to 45 minutes (15 for each meal) off your daily routine. This will leave you more time to do other important things and may also come as a relief to impatient children or ravenous teenagers.
