Endorsed by Eric Theiss who is a chef and a culinary expert. Therefore, it stands to reason that this product is fairly decent and a unique way for you to cook foods at home in less time.

  • Cooks in Minutes

It cooks a full meal in a matter of minutes, ranging from scrambled eggs to steaks. That makes it perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

  • Safe and Innovative

The unit is safe and innovative. Combining heat and microwave energy, it cooks your food twice as fast.

  • Dual Heating Elements

Dual heating elements located on the top and bottom of the unit make it possible to cook delicious Panini sandwiches.

  • Seal in Juices

The ceramic coated and nonstick grill lid help to seal in flavoring juices so that all of your foods are still mouthwatering lead delicious.

  • Special Handles

You can purchase the unit in red, black, or white. There are even special handles on the top so you don't get burned when you lock the lid into place.

  • Ceramic Coating

The secret to the design is the ceramic and steel service. It reaches up to 500° which creates the perfect 360° cooking environment inside, a temperature that will allegedly sear and grill your food.

  • Sears Faster

It cooks from the inside and sears your food from the outside at the same time. Dual cooking technology helps you to expedite the speed with which you prepare your food up to 70% faster.

How it's Different from Competitors

This unit helps you to keep your food crispy and delicious. When you repeat things like pizza or French fries you get the fried crispy texture that you wanted. Compared to a traditional microwave oven, this is a great thing. Microwaves will not sufficiently heat up the molecules in certain foods which means that the meal doesn't stay warm for a long period of time. It is for this reason that pizza or egg rolls might be crispy as soon as you take them out of the microwave but then they become soggy.

With this grill you can make mouthwatering barbecued ribs or fish at microwave speed. By comparison if you try to use a traditional microwave oven for the same foods they will end up rather rubbery.

Cleanup is significantly easier because nothing sticks, allegedly, to this unit so cleanup is simple. Of course, with a traditional microwave oven the cleanup is much harder given the fact that foods will easily boil over or explode inside. Once exploded it means a whole lot of scrubbing and scraping on the inside of your microwave.

Foods such as crispbread or tortillas are impossible to make in a microwave with this unit you can transform it into a professional Panini press and get the perfect brown lines for your quesadillas. Microwaves are big and bulky, very difficult to carry around but you can take this unit with you anywhere you go even a college dorm room. Preparing breakfast food like French toast or bacon is next to impossible in the microwave but with this unit you can make crispy bacon, omelets, and flaky French toast.

How It Works

The outer layer is made from SPS plastic which is professional grade and designed to withstand high temperatures. Their cooking chamber on the inside is coated with a nonstick ceramic coating. You can cook frozen foods or fresh foods inside. This unit will not be hot when you take it out of the microwave. You should still remove it carefully but be cool to the touch handles are designed to always remain cool so you never bring your hands.

Tips & Tricks

  1. Time Limit

Never set your microwave for longer than 15 minutes at 100% power when you are cooking with this grill. The website offers specific instructions inside of the recipe library based on what foods you want to cook.

  2. Preheating

Certain recipes require you to preheat the grill, things that you can figure out based on the recipe library. However, never preheat the grill for any longer than three minutes.

  3. Non-metal Utensils

Try to use nonmetal utensils like wood or silicone when you are cooking with this grill to preserve the life of the ceramic nonstick coating. The company does not specifically admit that the inner coating can scratch or peel but they do ask that you avoid metal utensils which indicates that it could.

  4. Hand Wash

It is not dishwasher safe so you will have to wash it by hand with gentle soap and a nonabrasive sponge. Do not submerge any of the components in water.

  5. Don't Need Butters

You are not required to use cooking sprays, oils, or butters when you are cooking with the grill but some people do find that it continues to add to the flavor.

  6. Let it Cool

After you have used the grill you should let it cool down before you cook with it again.

  7. Power Settings

The power setting on your microwave is contingent upon the individual recipe you are using. Almost all of the recipes call for the microwaves default settings but some recipes with a longer cooking time might require you to reduce the power setting. Again, the company advises that you consult with the recipe library they have on their website.

Pros

  • Well Designed

You can sear or brown food like meat inside this grill. What's more you can bake, steamed, roast, toast, and fry. This grill can hold up to 1.4 L. This grill itself with the lid weighs 2.9 pounds. Micro Chef grill is designed to withstand high temperatures up to 464°F.

Cons

  • Taste

Understand that while you will get the searing marks on your food when you use this that does not mean that you will get the same taste as something you grill outside.

The process of grilling is a very delicate science and there is no other method of cooking which will actually embody the exact same taste. Grilling leaves a very specific smoky taste one which can be altered based on the type of wood or charcoal you are using. When you put food in the microwave you might get the same searing lines on your food but you won't get the same taste.

Hey, the reason it need to be a turntable bed is because, back when microwaves were invented, a scientist was in his lab doing science and a nearby magnetron melted a chocolate bar in his pocket. Now scientists shouldn't be eating in the lab, I'm sure there's rules about that, but that's beside the point and most likely because he was hungry. Anyway, this accidental cocoa melting directly led to the invention of the microwave as we know it today. So that scientist made a lot of money, retired from science and settled down to his new life with his family. With the vast wealth he'd amassed, the retiree Decided to realise one of his boyhood dreams - to build his own recording studio. He spent many thousands of hours in there, much to his wife and kids dismay, and fell in love with his turntable. Eventually he realised that if ever a grilling device (that cooked food from the outside in) was invested to work with his microwave, there was only one rule he must impose. That rule, in homage to his new found love of the Decks, was that any, and all, 'microchef grill' like products must be used only in conjunction with turntable microwaves. Flatbeds were to be outlawed for this particular use. He even went so far as to try to lobby the courts to impose the death sentence on those who would defy his rule.

Cont. Of course, the lawmakers, being open minded & sane, realised, like almost everyone else on the planet, how ridiculous the former scientists requests were. His wife eventually left him due to his failing mind and his children stopped visiting eventually. In the end, the insane retired man of science took his own life. The madness had eaten away at his sole, his personality and his life, so much so that before he died, he left a note to say let everyone know that if they wanted to use a flatbed with their micro grills, then they could go ahead. 'After all', he scribbled in his note, 'it's your stuff, it's not really up to me.' With that, he placed his head against the magnetron that had melted that chocolate bar, propelling him to fame, riches and madness - oh so long ago - and boiled what was left of his now addled mind. So you see, William, if you want to use the flatbed, go ahead and have at it. Just remember that brilliant scientist and would be DJ as your food is slowly heated, whilst remaining stationary in your flat bed microwave. Hope this helps bud!
