Magic Level is a home building device that will enable you to hang virtually anything safely and perfectly straight without a struggle. You can use it to help you hang smaller things like pictures or towel racks, or even larger objects like cabinets and wall-mounted televisions. It'll also hold your nails so you won't accidentally hit your fingers as you hammer. This device is quite compact for a tool of its kind, and does not require any electrical power to do its job.
The cost of Magic Level is $19.95 plus $6.95 shipping, for a total price of $26.9. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at buymagiclevel.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Magic Level and has taken down the website. Magic Level may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
Before you start using this level, you'll need to set the level's laser beam to the same width as whatever object you want to hang first. To do this, place the level against the object and pull the gray plastic tab found in the middle of the level to activate the laser. Once the laser beam is wide enough for your object, you won't need to pull the tab out any further.
Next, you'll need to expand the level's nail holders, found on each end of the device, so they line up with the mounting holes of the object you want to hang. If there are no mounting holes, line the holders up with where you want the nails to eventually be. It's not absolutely necessary to insert your nails in the holders, but this will make your job more convenient and safe.
Before you get to hanging your object on the wall, you'll need to adjust the laser beam's height so this beam lines up with the top of your object when the level's at the bottom. Do this by moving the gray tab found in the middle of your level again.
After you've adjusted your level's beam, place the level itself on the wall where you want the bottom of your object to go. If you've adjusted the beam correctly, it should run in a straight line at the point at which the top of your object should rest once it's hanging up. Keeping your level on the wall, mark the places where the nails ( or screws ) will go with a pencil.
Once you've made your marks, you can finally move on to actually hanging your object, either by turning screws or hammering nails. When you're done, you should be able to step back and admire how straight it is!
You'll be able to expand the nail holders on each side so that this level will extend up to a full 20 inches wide. That means you'll be able to hang anything between just a few and 20 inches wide without worrying about it being crooked.
Each end of the Magic Level contains a nail holder which will help keep you from injuring your fingers as you hang objects. Instead of having to hold each nail against the wall with a couple of fingers as you hammer with the other hand, you'll simply be able to leave the nails in their holders.
Since the laser beam that emanates from each Magic Level is red, you likely won't have a problem seeing it clearly, regardless of the shade of your wall.
This level won't extend further than 20 inches in width, so if you have something that's wider than 20 inches to hang, such as a large TV, you may need to use a different level.
When you use this level to hang objects, this likely won't take you as long as it normally would, as you won't need to take down and re-hang any objects that you notice are crooked. If both you and the device do your jobs properly, there simply won't be any crooked objects hanging on the wall.
