Lucky Leash is a retractable leash for dogs that is built into either a collar or harness. Your dog will be able to wear the collar or harness when it's off-leash, and you'll be able to quickly pull the retractable leash out when you need it. When you don't, it'll retract back into the collar or against the harness, where magnets will hold it in place. Each black leash will extend to a quite generous length of 57 inches.

Total Cost Breakdown

The cost of Lucky Leash is $19.99 plus $6.99 shipping, for a total price of $26.98.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Put Collar or Harness on Dog

To start using your Lucky Leash, you'll need to put the attached collar or harness on your dog. Note that the collar is meant for medium or large dogs, so if a small dog has it on, it may be too loose, while the harness is meant for small dogs only.

  2. Gently Grab Leash

Once your pup is wearing their collar or harness, gently grab the tab of the leash from the collar or the back of the harness and pull to extend the leash to its full length. When you do so, the built-in magnets will automatically release their grip, allowing you to use the leash.

  3. Walk Dog

After your dog's leash is in your hand and extended to its full length (or the length you choose, if you prefer a shorter leash), you can walk them as you normally would. The leash is lightweight and designed to be comfortable, so if they're wearing the proper size of a collar (or harness), they won't feel like they're carrying something heavy.

  4. Let Leash Retract

When your dog's walk is done for the time being, gently and slowly let go of the leash and allow it to retract back towards the dog's collar or harness. Following that, it'll rest gently against the dock's neck or back until it needs to be used again while being held securely in place by magnets. It will not get in the way of your dog's movement while they're off-leash.

  • Two Styles

As mentioned, the Lucky Leash comes in two styles, the collar style, and the harness style. If you have a medium or large dog, you should select the collar style, while a small dog should wear the harness style. The collar style for medium dogs may be suitable for a small dog if they have a thick neck.

  • Four Sizes Available

If you select the collar style of a leash, you'll be able to choose between two sizes. SM / MD is made to fit medium-sized dogs well, while LG / XL will be more suitable for large dogs. You'll also be able to choose between the same sizes for the harness style: SM / MD for tiny dogs, and LG / XL for dogs that are small but not the smallest out there.

  • Durable Material

While each Lucky Leash is lightweight, it's also made of durable material, so even if your dog likes to pull on their leash a lot while walking or running, one may last you for years.

  • Black

Each leash is black, which doesn't suggest that a dog is of a particular gender as pink, purple or blue might. If that's something that concerns you, and you have both a male and female dog, they'll be able to share the leash without appearing to be of one gender or another.

Positive Points

  • For Active, Busy People

This leash is great for active, busy people who have just a few minutes to take a dog for a walk and can't waste time searching for a leash or fiddling with tiny hooks. Your dog's leash will be right there when you need it, attached to its collar or harness, and you won't need to hook it on at all. If your dog tends to be active and impatient, they also won't have to wait long at the door like they might if you needed to hunt for a standard leash.

  • No Batteries Required

To use one of these retractable leashes, you won't need batteries at all, nor will you need to charge either style via a USB cable plugged into your computer. They're completely manual, so all you'll need is a hand to gently pull your dog's leash out with when it's time to use it.

Negative Points

  • Questionable Comfort for Sleep

While your dog won't find this leash uncomfortable as they're walking around, running or playing, some dogs could find it uncomfortable to sleep in, especially if they roll over onto the magnetic clip. If your dog is one of those, you may need to remove the leash and the attached collar or harness each night, and put it back on each morning, which will take up time.

  • Don't Fasten Collar Too Tight

Even though the material used to make each leash and collar or harness combination will feel comfortable against a dog's skin, you must still make sure the collar or harness isn't too tight. After you put it on, you should be able to stick two fingers under it comfortably. If you can't, it's too tight and you should loosen it or it'll be hard on your dog's body.

  • Don't Put Large Dog in Harness

Along the same lines, even if you happen to have a Lucky Leash in the harness style on hand for a smaller dog, don't attempt to put one of these harnesses on a large dog. It'll be too tight and just make them uncomfortable and perhaps aggressive.

I Recommend Buying it!

Good Product

Good product, like the dog can carry the leash and collar at all times and its accessible when I need it to be. At times I let the dog free to run and need to grab quick if a person is coming towards us, very convenient. Goes in the water too, not that it is suggested for that use but at 20 bucks if it lasts a year after being submerged over and over not a big deal.

Brilliant idea, durable, convenient. I would love to see parts of it upgraded (aesthetically). All around though th worth $20 bucks all day long.

Lucky Leash is the most convenient harness ever, leave dog in it all the time with no problems. So nice being able to drop the retractable leash whenever, yet its right there when needed.
