Jiffy Shelf is a compact white shelf that's purported to be able to double the amount of storage space available in virtually any cabinet or closet. This shelf comes in two different sizes (standard and large) and it's stated that you won't need tools or building expertise in order to install each one in the place of your choice. Each Jiffy Shelf also comes with a shelf liner that will help prevent small items from falling through its slats.
The cost of Jiffy Shelf is $19.99 plus $4.95 shipping, for a total price of $24.94.

To get started with this shelf, you'll need to choose a place for it, such as a cabinet, a closet or even a drawer. The standard-sized shelf will extend to a length of 23 and a half inches, while the large size will extend to 37 and a half inches. It's best to keep these dimensions in mind when making your choice, or else your shelf may not fit the area you've chosen properly.
You might find that your shelf will fit the area you've selected perfectly without being adjusted, but you may need to extend it to make it longer. To do so, simply pull gently on the end of the shelf that's labeled "Jiffy Shelf" and watch the shelf grow. When you add your shelf to your cabinet, your closet, your drawer or an alternative location of your choice, make sure the lock that's shaped like a half-moon is on the bottom. Otherwise, you'll need to flip the shelf over.
Even if your shelf looks like it's sitting securely, you must lock it before you put any items on it. To do so, twist the half-moon shaped lock to the right in order to tighten it. When it's as tight as possible, you can consider your shelf locked solidly into place.
Finally, after your shelf has been locked, you'll be able to add the included slim white liner and then place items on top of that. It's not absolutely necessary that you use the liner, but it will stop small objects from falling through the shelf's cracks. While you're adding items, remember that the shelf will hold about 30 pounds and shouldn't be overloaded with a bunch of incredibly heavy things.
Each Jiffy Shelf is white, which means it'll look good in a variety of different rooms, regardless of the color of the walls, the floor, and any appliances that are present. Aesthetically speaking, one of these shelves is actually an ideal thing to add to most kitchens or bathrooms, since most people have white appliances in those spaces.
These shelves come in sets of four, and in each set, you'll get two standard-sized shelves and two large-sized ones. The standard-sized shelves measure 15 by 23 and a half inches, while the larger ones measure 22 by 37 and a half inches. Logically, you can choose to add your larger shelves to larger cabinets or closets while the standard-sized ones can be installed in smaller areas. Each shelf in a set of four also comes with its own white liner.
Most people will be able to carry these shelves from room to room in their home when needed, and once you remove one from a certain place, it won't leave any sort of mark. The shelves are also small enough to be transported to different locations, such as a new house or a college dorm, by vehicle. If you've extended your shelf and you want to save yourself space while you're traveling with it, just push the extended half back in to make the shelf (temporarily) shorter.
Every Jiffy Shelf is capable of withstanding approximately 30 pounds of weight and may be able to hold more, depending on how you've arranged your items on top of a particular one. Therefore, you'll be able to use one of your shelves to store somewhat heavy things like paint cans, food cans or winter boots without worrying about it cracking under the pressure. The strength of these shelves primarily comes from the fact that they're made from sturdy steel.
It's not necessary that you know anything about building or home renovations in order to install a Jiffy Shelf. You won't have to put any pieces together, nor will you have to get out a wrench, a set of pliers or a screwdriver. The only tools you'll need to put up one of these shelves are your own two hands, and the majority of people will be able to install all four shelves in their set within minutes.
If you don't have enough shelving in a certain cabinet or closet, the things in there may all end up in a huge pile. This might make it difficult for you to find items you need, and when you open up the storage space, a bunch of items may even go clattering to the floor. Fortunately, by adding one or more Jiffy shelves to any closet or cabinet, you'll immediately be able to improve its organization. With at least some things resting on shelving, you'll be able to find them more quickly and they'll be less likely to get broken.
In the event that you need to block a doorway so that a small pet can't get through, you may be able to use one of your Jiffy shelves as a pet gate. This will all depend on whether any of your shelves are wide enough to fit the doorway that needs to be blocked. To work effectively as a pet gate, the shelf must be installed vertically across a doorway without much space underneath. A Jiffy Shelf may not stop a large pet from barreling through or jumping over it, but it may deter a small dog or cat.
This type of shelf can be extended so it's fairly long, but none of these shelves are very wide, even if you're using the larger size. If you've got super-wide items to add to one of these shelves, you might find that they end up hanging over the edge(s), which will increase the risk that they'll fall off.
It may be tempting to sit down on an empty Jiffy Shelf or use one as a step-stool, but these shelves haven't been designed to support the weight of even the smallest of humans. Most walking toddlers weigh a bit more than 30 pounds, so if any person were to use one of these shelves to support their weight, it'd likely break underneath them.
