Jif Creamy Peanut Butter is one of the varieties of Jif peanut butter that's available. It's light brown and smooth, and unlike its crunchy counterpart, contains no hard peanut pieces that might break up your bread. Each Jif bottle is fairly large, offering you one pound or 454 grams of the creamy substance. You can use this peanut butter on bread and buns, add it to your baking, or even stick a spoon in the bottle and eat it on its own.

Features

  • Large Bottle

In each standard-sized bottle of this peanut butter, you'll get a pound or 454 grams of the stuff. That means if you stick to the recommended serving size of two tablespoons or 33 grams, you'll get at least 13 servings of peanut butter out of one jar.

  • High in Protein

This peanut butter is high in protein, offering you seven grams of protein within each serving, or seven percent of the recommended daily intake of protein for an individual. This'll come in handy if you're someone who doesn't consume a lot of meat, fish, whole nuts or other protein sources on a daily basis. If you're an athlete, consuming this peanut butter will also help you reach the level of protein you need to endure grueling workouts.

  • Free of Gmos

All Jif Creamy Peanut Butter is free of genetically modified organisms ( GMOs ), which means that all the peanuts used to manufacture it have been grown in a natural manner without genetic engineering. It's a commonly held belief that a lack of GMOs means that a product is healthier for consumers and better for the environment, too.

  • Gluten Free

This type of peanut butter is also free of gluten, so if you're following a gluten free diet because of a health condition or to control your weight, you'll be able to consume it worry-free.

  • No Preservatives

This peanut butter contains no artificial preservatives, either, which can make food last longer but have also been known to cause various health problems such as those involving the gut, lungs and skin.

Positive Points

  • Spreads Nicely

Unlike crunchy peanut butter, which has the potential to tear up all but the thickest pieces of bread when you spread it, this creamy peanut butter will spread smoothly and evenly. It's completely free of even the smallest bits of peanut, so there'll be no peanut bits there to poke holes in your sandwich. It'll also spread smoothly on most crackers, regardless of their size or hardness.

  • Good for Fussy Kids

Kids who are somewhat fussy eaters may complain about getting bits of peanuts in their mouths when consuming crunchy peanut butter, but that won't be an issue with this creamy variety. A child may enjoy it so much that they'll want to eat it on its own like pudding, but if so, it's best if they only have a couple of tablespoons or less at once.

  • Can Use in Baking

You can use Jif Creamy Peanut Butter to make a variety of delicious desserts, such as peanut butter cookies, peanut butter pie, or peanut butter fudge balls or squares. Since's it's creamy, it likely won't take as long to mix in a bowl as the crunchy variety of peanut butter does.

Negative Points

  • Contains a Lot of Fat

The main drawback to this peanut butter, and other types of peanut butter, too, is that it contains a lot of fat. As soon as you consume one serving ( two tablespoons ) you'll have eaten 21 percent of your recommended daily fat intake. If you eat tons of peanut butter, you could start gaining weight quickly, especially around the abdomen.

Critical Advice

A lot of people are allergic to peanuts, so be sure to check with any guests in your home or anyone else you're feeding before serving them something made with peanut butter. Give any young child a very small amount ( less than the recommended serving size ) to start, and if they experience any sort of averse reaction to it, get them to the hospital immediately.
