Imagipen is a special battery-operated pen for kids that can be used to create both horizontal and vertical three-dimensional objects and structures. Since you can use it to make virtually anything, it's suitable for both boys and girls of almost any age. The pen comes with two cartridges filled with green and blue gel that will act as ink when you start drawing. Plus, you'll also receive a Fun Guide that'll help you get started with your new art materials.
The cost of Imagipen is $19.99 plus $8.99 shipping, for a total price of $28.98. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page found at buyimagipen.com; however, the company has since ceased selling Imagipen and has taken down the website. Imagipen may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
To begin using your Imagipen, install batteries as per the instructions, and slide in either your green or blue ink cartridge, making sure the skinny tip is facing the top of the pen.
To draw with your Imagipen, aim the pen at a flat surface, making sure it's not touching the surface but is resting about a couple of inches above. Press the lever you'll find on the side of your pen down, and gel will start splurting out. As it does so, the pen's built-in lights will cause it to harden into plastic-like material.
Once you're done making something with your pen, you may want to display it on a flat surface. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to melt your creations down into gel again, so you'll need to use your gel carefully.
You won't need electricity to operate your Imagipen, so you won't need to worry about finding an available electrical outlet or dragging around an extension cord. ( However, you will need to obtain your own batteries ).
This pen is much larger than a standard pen, making it able to hold much more gel than the amount of ink that can be held in an ordinary pen. It's about the size of, and resembles, a hair straightener.
With each pen, you'll get a cartridge full of green gel and a cartridge full of blue gel, so you won't need to make everything you want to with the same color. Each color of gel will stick to almost any surface.
If you're not sure what to make first with your Imagipen, or you're not quite sure of your technique, you can consult the included Fun Guide for help and / or inspiration.
The gel that comes from this pen will dry in seconds after it has splurted out of the device. Therefore, you won't have to wait for hours or even several minutes to see what your finished creations will look like.
Heat does not need to be applied to the Imagipen's gel for it to dry—the light from the pen is enough. A lack of heat makes the pen much safer for children, as this eliminates the risk of accidental burns.
When using this pen, everyone will be able to exercise their creativity in order to make almost anything under the sun. You may wish to make animals, birds, jewelry, monsters, or castles, or decorate an already-existing object such as a notebook, toy, or cell phone case.
An Imagipen will make a great gift for virtually any child over the age of six, regardless of the occasion. If you're having a party, you might even want to set up the pen and let every guest of an appropriate age give it a try.
It's best if kids of preschool age do not use the Imagipen, at least not without adult supervision. They may be too young to understand that it's unsafe to put the gel in one's mouth, and if ingested, it could be harmful to a child.
