Hydroclean is a foaming hand sanitizer that's purported to be able to kill 99.9 percent of germs that are commonly found at home, in the workplace and out in public. Unlike many hand sanitizers that may dry out the hands, it's stated that this alcohol-free sanitization solution will actually moisturize the hands, due to the addition of three hydrating ingredients. Each squirt bottle contains seven fluid ounces of the solution, and you'll have the choice between getting one, six or twelve bottles at once.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Spray One Palm

    To get started with Handvana Hydroclean, squirt one of your palms with the sanitizer. Since one squirt will offer you quite a generous amount, you probably won't need more than one, unless you have extremely large hands or hands that are filthy.

  2. Rub Hands Together

    Next, rub your hands together while aiming to spread the sanitizer all over each hand, including within the spaces between the fingers. You should notice that it spreads fairly quickly, due to the fast-acting foam technology that's been engineered through its unique mix of ingredients.

  3. Continue With Daily Activities

    After you've spread your hand sanitizer so much that you can see little to no foam left, you'll be able to go about your daily business. Store your sanitizer in a room-temperature location and reapply it every few hours, or more often than that if you feel you need it.

How It Works

The main sanitizing ingredient within Hydroclean isn't overtly named, but it's specified that it comes from an FDA-registered facility, is used in hospitals and will kill the vast majority of common germs (99.9 percent). Meanwhile, three additional hydrating ingredients will moisturize your hands so that the sanitizing ingredient doesn't dry them out and make them look and feel scaly. These moisturizing ingredients include aloe vera, 100 percent coconut oil and hyaluronic acid. Furthermore, Handvana Hydroclean is completely free of alcohol, which tends to dry the skin out and is also highly flammable. If you use this sanitization solution, it's likely that your hands will end up clean and soft, instead of just clean.

Warnings

  • 0% Alcohol!

    Hydro Clean doesn’t contain Alcohol! The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends to use hand sanitizers that contain at least 60% Alcohol.

  • Allergic Reactions

    Like any cleaning or sanitizing substance, Benzalkonium Chloride COULD cause allergic reactions such as:

1. rash;
2. hives;
3. itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin;
4. fever;
5. wheezing;
6. tightness in the chest or throat;
7. trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking;
8. unusual hoarseness; or 9. swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Features

  • Can Choose Quantity

    You might opt to get just one bottle of Hydroclean by Handvana at once, especially if you're a single person, but people who need more can get a set of six bottles or a set of twelve. Regardless of how many you decide to obtain at once, each bottle you receive will contain seven fluid ounces of the sanitizer. Some hand sanitizers contain as little as two fluid ounces in one container, so by choosing this one, you may be getting more in a bottle than you'd normally end up with.

  • Made in the USA

    This hand sanitizer is made in the United States, in an FDA-registered facility, so you can expect that it's being made with typical American safety and labor standards in mind.

  • Goes on White

    Hydroclean goes on white, so you can clearly see if you've applied it to every square inch of your hand or not. Therefore, you'll be unlikely to miss a spot (and leave it open to a germ infestation!), as you might when using a clear, gel-based sanitizer that may be difficult to see. Once the sanitizer has been rubbed in nicely, though, you'll no longer be able to see foamy white spots.

  • Not Just for Hands

    This foaming solution has been designed with the hands in mind, but you'll also be able to use it on other body parts if you'd like. You might want to use it on your upper arms if they won't be covered by your clothing, or even your feet if you're going to walk around barefoot or wear open-toed shoes. However, you should not use it on your face or your genitals, or inside your ears.

Positive Points

  • Limits Chances of Sickness

    With germs like those coming from the Coronavirus being spread out in public, it follows that most people will want to protect themselves from sickness as much as possible. Fortunately, Hydroclean Foam will help you do so, by killing almost any germs that have congregated on your hands almost instantly. Once they've been killed, you won't be able to pass them along to other people or leave them on objects that you touch. You'll be able to do your essential business in public without as much concern about infecting others or picking up an infection yourself.

  • Reduces Need for Moisturizer

    Without a substance like Hydroclean around, you might end up using a hand sanitizer and an additional moisturizer, especially if your chosen hand sanitizer has dried out your skin. If you decide to use Hydroclean as your hand sanitizer instead, however, you probably won't need this additional moisturizer, due to the sanitizer's hydrating effects. That'll be one less item that you'll need to pick up at the store each week or month when you're stocking up on essentials.

  • Can be Shared by Family

    If you get multiple bottles of this hand sanitizer, you'll have enough to share them with your family, even if it happens to be on the larger side. Once everyone in your household has consistently clean hands, the chances of any of you picking up germs from each other or objects in the home will be dramatically reduced. Plus, since each Handvana Hydroclean bottle is a squirt bottle, no one's hands will literally need to touch the hole that the solution comes out of.

  • Alcohol-Free

    While this is a negative of the product due to reasons we mention later in this report, it's also a positive. Alcohol can have a drying effect on the skin especially when used repeatedly. Having dry skin can lead to cracked skin, which then presents more opportunities for infection.

Handvana Label

DISCLAIMER:

Most Over the Counter (OTC) products are not reviewed and approved by FDA; however, they may be marketed if they comply with applicable regulations and policies. As of 8 April 2020, the FDA has not evaluated whether Handvana Foam complies with the required policies and regulations.

Active Ingredient

The active ingredient in Handvana is Benzalkonium Chloride 0.13% w/w (1.3 mg in 1 mL). This substance is not alcohol; however, can be used as an antiseptic. Using an antiseptic to clean your hands will decrease the bacteria on your skin; however, is not as effective as thoroughly washing your hands with soap and water.

Inactive Ingredients

The Handvana Foam inactive ingredients include: Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hemp Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Glycerin, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer (or Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureate-7), Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylene Glycol, Polysorbate-20, Aminomethyl Propanol, Blue 1, & Yellow 5.

Benzalkonium Chloride

Benzalkonium Chloride (BAC) is an active ingredient in Hydroclean. So what is benzalkonium chloride? Benzalkonium Chloride is an organic salt which possesses antimicrobial functions. The key aspect of BAC's antimicrobial effect is its capability for membrane destruction, which is most effective against Gram-positive bacteria, some Gram-negative bacteria, some enveloped viruses, fungi, yeasts and protozoa. [ Source ]

Benzalkonium chloride, along with ethanol and isopropanol, have been deemed eligible by the FDA for use in hand sanitizing formulas.

The evidence for efficacy of benzalkonium chloride was found to be conflicting in a recent study. The data reported in the sourced study that within 10 minutes, a concentration of 0.2% benzalkonium chloride had no efficacy against a certain virus whereas a concentration of 0.05% was quite effective. [Source]

Handvana Foam Commercial

Negative Points

  • Unidentified Main Ingredient

    The main sanitizing ingredient used to make Hydroclean Foam is never explicitly identified, however, through research we believe the active ingredient is benzalkonium chloride. The commercial tells us that Hydroclean is made in an FDA-registered facility, which indicates a certain level of safety, but being FDA-registered isn't quite as good as being FDA-approved. Moreover, if you're allergy-prone, and you don't know what the main ingredient is, you might end up accidentally obtaining something you're allergic to.

  • Odor Isn't Specified

    Along the same lines, the smell of this type of hand sanitizer isn't described. It isn't stated to be odorless, but no particular fragrance is referred to, either. If you're sensitive to scents in general, are repulsed by a medicinal smell, or only like fragrances of a certain nature, this may be a concern for you. You wouldn't want to end up with multiple bottles of hand sanitizer that neither you or the other members of your household could stand to smell.

Alcohol Hand Sanitizers

Alcohol weakens, and if used in sufficient quantity, destroys, the envelope protein which is known to surround some viruses. The envelope protein is essential for a virus’ survival; without it the virus becomes less effective, as a decreased ability to spread and eventually dies. Hand sanitizers with less than 60% alcohol have been found to be less effective at killing bacteria compared to those containing at least 60% alcohol. [ Source ]

Vodka for Hand Sanitizer

Vodka is only 80 proof, which converts to 40% alcohol. Keep in mind that you need at least 60% alcohol effectively kill viruses and bacteria. Thus, Vodka does not make a good substitute for sanitizing.

Save Time

Applying hand sanitizer to help rid yourself of germs can be a time-consuming task, and it can get in the way of your daily routine, especially if you're very busy. When you use this particular hand sanitizer, though, its foaming nature will make it spread so quickly that you should be able to cover each hand in just seconds each time. You'll no longer have to painstakingly ensure that you're applying gel to every nook and cranny of each hand, which could take several minutes per hand. Instead, the foam will do nearly all the spreading work for you.

HANDVANA IS A SCAM AND RIP OFF

I attempted to call customer service at 1 800 715 0695 and 1 800 280 0223 but to no avail. I completed numerous online website contact forms but to no avail. I sent numerous e-mails to customersupport@handvana.com but to no avail.
my online website order 637244650919323784 totaling $119.88 was initiated on 05/07/2020 for which I received an order confirmation e-mail from <noreply@mojocheckout.com>.
handvana is using the COVID-19 pandemic to screw consumers out of money-they do not answer phones, respond to online website contact forms, or reply to e-mails sent to customersupport@handvana.com. I am trying to cancel my order but how do you do that when handvana totally ignores all contact attempts! On 05/08/2020 they charged my account $128.57 and credited my account $128.57 which equals zero ( and is $8.69 over the correct order total of $119.88! I have disputed the transaction with my bank. I will refuse any shipment delivery attempts. I will file a BBB complaint. It is bad enough that we all have to contend with the COVID-19 pandemic but on top of that, you have businesses like handvana.com scamming and ripping off the consumer!
people are hoarding merchandise in local stores that we all need and local store shelves are not being stocked
so when we find a product like a hand sanitizer online and the website seems safe we place an order, not with Amazon-that is a scam and rip off in itself and we find out that we can't get any type of response from handvana no matter which method you attempt to use-phone, online website contact forms and e-mails sent to customersupport@handvana.com and all you get back is an inept, lame brained, lousy half-assed excuse that they will contact you within 24-48 hours which is crap-if they can provide this notification there is no excuse for not responding to a consumer! Stay away from this scam and rip off handvana by any means! 05/11/2020 @ 10:47 pm edt.

Totally Dissatisfied!

I tried to cancel my order 3 times by sending messages to their customer service page on their website. No response. Finally, I called to cancel and I thought it "took". The very next day my credit card was charged. I called again and they told me that they could give me $20 off. OR I had to wait for the product to arrive and then refuse it and then when they receive the product back they would refund my money. According to the FedEx site, it was shipped on 4-27-20, and today is 5-6-20 and the product is showing as being in New Mexico. I'm in Ohio! This place sucks.

Handvanna

Handvanna is a ripoff of the first order. It does not kill anything other than your pocketbook and some obscure germs. Sorry, I've ever purchased their product but you can bet it WILL be the last. Bulbhead rips off again!

Handvana

I am very disappointed with the handling of the introduction of the HANDVANA product on the TV. The visual of the product was a much larger container on the TV and at the end of the purchase, the shipping price did not show up until the charge already went through! I tried to call back, but there was no one that would answer, only the automated voice. The paperwork that came with the product says we cold cancel by calling a number! What number? This is a scam for sure! Don't order this product! Shipping was half the cost of the product! I would not have ordered had I'd known this at an earlier point! Amazon should not allow this 3rd party seller!

Wrongly Advertising

Does not contain alcohol will not kill Covid 19 which it alleges. Trying to take advantage of people. Has changed name on commercials overnight saw healthvana and now I see it as handvana and Markets to the current panic of needing hand sanitizer. Does not contain alcohol will not work for the virus everyone is trying to protect themselves from right now.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY

I am very disappointed in reading reviews about this product and have read all the reviews on Reddit. So I will never buy any of their products I will go to the local retailer and buy face to face items when sanitizer becomes available to the average consumer. Because of the sketchy way they have changed their wording around for their company name I am positive they will not get a dime from me.

Benzalkonium Chloride

The ad and the product definitely raise questions. But the main questions are (whether benzalkonium chloride is an effective antimicrobial and, if yes, (whether the product contains enough of it to be effective. This study suggests that the answer to (is Yes: https://microbewiki. Kenyon.edu/index. Php/Antiseptic_efficacy_of_benzalkonium_chloride. Moreover, it is particularly effective against enveloped viruses, which would include the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus that causes COVID-19. That leaves us with (the answer to which I do not know.
