Hot Shades Kits are cosmetic kits that you can use to create your own lip glosses or matte lipsticks. All you'll need to do is mix one of the eight blendable lip colors included in each kit with the clear moisturizing base. To give yourself more color options, you can even mix two of the shades, which include glittery silver and gold, together in a blending pod. In order to help you along your way, each kit comes with a Mix-To-Match Color Guide. With each, you'll also get a sleek purple and black carrying case that will hold all your supplies, including your lip colors, the base, the blending pods, and an applicator brush.
When you use one of these Hot Shades Kits to create your own lip colors, you'll be able to make your lipstick or gloss match your skin tone, your clothing, or even your mood. You'll be able to look your best on any occasion, regardless of the season or the time of day. Instead of picking up multiple lip colors at the makeup counter for variety's sake, or getting a new one in order to try a new look, you'll be able to quickly mix them at home. The mixing process will take minutes, at most, and you'll be able to use the included applicator brush to apply your color precisely to your lips.
The cost of Hot Shades Kits is $14.95 plus $4.95 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Hot Shades Kits by paying the extra shipping fee of $4.95 for a total price of $24.85. This price was obtained from the As Seen on TV commercial page which was taken offline due to Hot Shades Kits being discontinued. Hot Shades Kits may still be found for sale on Amazon or Ebay.
Squeeze some of the moisturizing base out of its tube and into one of the three blending pods included in your kit. You can either fill the entire blending pod with base, or if you don't want to make much of a particular lip color, just squeeze a bit of base into it.
Grab your blendable lip color wand and tap some of your chosen color into the blending pod that you've filled with base. If you'd like to mix two colors, add the second color, too. ( Mixing three or more colors is a viable option, but mixing just two may give you a nicer-looking shade ).
Use the pointy end of the lip color wand in order to blend your color with the moisturizing base. When you're finished, you should have a solid-colored mixture in your pod.
Make use of the applicator brush included in your kit to transfer your new lip color from the pod to your lips.
If you prefer a glossy lip color, go heavy on the moisturizing base and light on the blendable lip color when you're adding your ingredients to a blending pod. Alternatively, if you'd rather sport a matte look, add less moisturizing base and more color to your pod.
Each Hot Shades kit comes with eight different blendable lip colors, including pink, red, orange, brown, blue, silver, gold, and white. With all these choices available for mixing purposes, you'll be able to create a wide variety of unique shades. The gold and silver are ideal for jazzing up a one-color matte or gloss, and the white'll come in handy when you need to lighten a particular shade.
Since the application brush included in each kit is thin, it'll allow you to apply any lip color you create with precision. Therefore, even if you're not very experienced with makeup, you likely won't need to wipe off excess color or run the risk of leaving your house looking like a clown.
At first, it may be hard to determine which blendable lip colors to mix in order to arrive at a certain shade. Fortunately, the color guide included in every Hot Shades kit will help you learn how to do so, so you won't waste a ton of color or base by experimenting excessively.
Each piece included in these kits is small and can be transported in the carrying case provided, or in another makeup bag of your choice. That means you'll be able to take your Hot Shades supplies to work, to school, or on a trip without having them take up a great deal of space.
Some lip glosses are excessively sticky and make a user's lips feel uncomfortable, as if they're stuck together with paste. While the glosses you create with your Hot Shades kit will be sticky enough to stick to your lips, they won't feel like glue or goo while you're wearing them.
On the other hand, some matte lipsticks tend to dry out too quickly after they've been applied, causing cracks to form, but Hot Shades lip colors will stay moist enough to refrain from doing this.
