The HathaSpace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier is an air-purifying device for the home that's been designed to cycle through five distinct stages of purification. It's claimed that this device's HEPA filter is capable of filtering 99.97 percent of particles in a room of 350 square feet, including particles that humans can't see. Aside from purifying the air, this remote-controlled, 12-pound appliance has components that have been included for the purpose of removing unpleasant odors from the immediate environment.

How It Works

As air moves through this appliance, it first meets with the nano-cold catalyst filter that traps dust and dander particles and removes traces of potentially toxic household chemicals from the air. From there, it passes through the carbon filter, which targets smoke, gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), along with the antibacterial filter, which targets bacteria. Last but not least, the air travels through the HEPA filter, which removes the most microscopic pollutants that haven't yet been eliminated. Meanwhile, you'll also have the option of turning on the ionizer, which will run as a separate system and release negative ions that'll neutralize air particles so they can be trapped more easily. Taking into account all of these five steps together, this appliance should provide you with much cleaner, more pleasant-smelling air than you were breathing in when you first turned it on.

  • Black and White

The HathaSpace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier is mainly white, with black accents, so each one won't look like an eyesore in the majority of rooms, including living rooms or bedrooms.

  • 350-Square-foot Coverage Area

This air purifier will effectively purify the air in an area of 350 square feet (or smaller), so it's powerful enough to purify the air within a large family room or a studio apartment. Regardless of the size of the area you choose to use it in, the purifier will exchange your air up to two times per hour or 48 times a day.

  • 12 Pounds

Every HathaSpace Smart True HEPA Air Purifier weighs 12 pounds when it's out of its package. Consequently, it won't feel incredibly light when you're carrying it, but for most people, it shouldn't feel back-breakingly heavy, either. If you decide to transfer it from one room to the next, this likely won't be a terribly strenuous task.

  • Air Quality Sensor

Once your air purifier is installed in the room or area of your choice, its air quality sensor will begin to work. This sensor will determine the current air quality level on an ongoing basis, and adjust the appliance's fan speed in accordance with its calculations. When your air's of good quality, the display on the front of your appliance will light up in green, while this will change to yellow or even red as the air quality worsens.

  • Sleep Mode

When you'd like to sleep, but you want to leave this appliance on, too, it's best to put it into sleep mode. After it's in this mode, it'll make only 18 decibels of noise, which is about the same amount of noise that rustling leaves make. The lights on the front of the device will also turn off, so they won't interrupt your rest.

  • Remote Controlled

Each of these appliances comes with a remote control, which means that after yours is set up, you'll be able to adjust its settings from across the room.

Positive Points

  • Ozone Safe

You don't need to be concerned about this air purifier being hard on the environment, as the entire thing (including the ionizer) has been deemed safe by the standards of the California Air Resources Board. As a result, unless you're trying to control your electricity bill, you needn't worry about using it consistently throughout the day and night.

  • Good for Asthma, Allergies

If you or other people in your household have trouble breathing due to asthma, allergies, frequent colds or any related conditions, you might find that things improve after you start using this air purifier. Due to the fact that it'll remove virtually all pollutants and allergens from your environment, each breath you take in will end up being much cleaner than it otherwise would be. With cleaner air to breathe in on a regular basis, you may even be able to cut back on your asthma or allergy medication.

  • Eliminates Odors

Besides air purification, this device has also been designed for powerful odor elimination. Even if you don't currently have trouble breathing, you may find that your home smells like cat litter, cigarette smoke, cleaning sprays or something else that most people's noses aren't fond of. Fortunately, this air purifier will minimize or completely eliminate the presence of these strong odors for you, so your home will smell nicer for those who live in it and any guests who come along.

Negative Points

  • Must Add Filters

This particular appliance won't come with the necessary filters already installed. Instead, you'll have to insert your first set of filters yourself, and it's recommended that you change them every six months thereafter. To keep an eye on their performance, you'll need to open your unit every few months to see if they're covered in debris and monitor whether the unit's making more noise. These are both signs that the filters will need to be changed soon.

  • Needs Batteries, Electricity

Although this air purifier won't damage the environment, it's not so environmentally friendly that it'll run via solar power. You will, in fact, need to plug it into electricity in order to use it properly, so if your electric bill is a concern for you, this might not be the ideal appliance to pick. Running the appliance with batteries alone isn't an option, but it's necessary that you obtain a pair of AAA batteries on your own to operate the included remote control. If your remote control isn't working, you'll have to stand beside the device to change its settings.

  • Choose Location Wisely

There are three main things that could damage your air purifier, and even cause damage to the environment it's in by coming in contact with the purifier. These include liquids (not excluding water), any flammable items and high humidity. That means you'll have to find a cool, dry place in which you can install the purifier, and keep it away from common household items that can be flammable, like rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer.

  • Unplug at Certain Times

It's acceptable if you keep your air purifier plugged in most of the time, but you must unplug it from the wall before you start changing filters or cleaning its insides in any way. Otherwise, you could end up unintentionally getting electrocuted.
