With this unit you get the traditional grill marks, with the quickness of microwaving food. Easy to clean, fast too, you have the option of locking together these two trays using the handles so that your food cooks more evenly. What’s more, this also cooks food faster than a grill.
The cost of Grill Wave is $19.95 plus $6.95 shipping. The special TV offer allows you to receive a second Grill Wave by paying an extra fee of $6.95 for a total price of $33.85.

Grill Wave is a non-stick grilling device which you use in the microwave. It claims to grill quickly and alleviate the mess of using an outdoor grill.
You get stay-cool handles that lock into place. This makes it easier and safer to just grab the unit out of the microwave without burning yourself, something that is not possible when you grill normally.
It offers a faster food preparation time, because it uses microwave energy which cooks foods faster.
You do not have to use extra oils or butters to keep your food from burning or sticking because of the non-stick design.
The unit is double-sided so it cooks things from the top, bottom, and inside.
Grill Wave is a double-sided, non-stick microwave cooking unit that claims to give you the same grilled taste for your food without the mess of cooking on a grill. You get to cook it in the microwave instead. The core heating element designed to capture microwave energy is what sears your foods to perfection, allowing you to make grilled chicken, seared salmon, even perfect paninis. Claims also state that you can make surf and turf, steak dinners, grilled cheese, melty ham with cheese sandwiches, French toast with sausage, or s’mores.
This unit is the perfect addition to any kitchen. While some foods are definitely great to have grilled outside, this unit is something that you can take with you on the go. Offices, dorm rooms, or hotel rooms with nothing but a small fridge and microwave are all places where having something like this would give you a quick and simple meal that is still healthy.
The unit is not very large in size. You cannot sit sandwiches side by side. Its size indicates that things like chicken breasts and steaks would have to be cooked individually. Due to the shallow pan and open sides, moisture will escape which will make the food dry inside, not juicy and tender.
The channels on the product are meant to help remove some of the grease and fat, but remember that this alone does not make your food healthier. Meats and such soaked in oils or marinades already soaked up those unhealthy ingredients. Cooking on a grill or the Grill Wave and watching some of it drip off does not mean it is any healthier. Said cooking process does not make your food any healthier for you. Only you can make your food healthier by picking healthier foods.
This design is really a more efficient version of previous market options. There are other microwave grills on the market. Over a decade ago the Ronco Grill was introduced but did not do well. Perfect Micro Grill has a similar dual grill design but is not highly reviewed. More effective than most is the Microhearth Grill Pan. This is a slightly different layout and offers a deep dish designs so that foods remain moist, an option that does not really work with the open design of the GrillWave.
Microhearth Grill Pan is a microwavable oven unit that cooks and grills foods, retaining moisture. The unit is easy to use boasting a nonstick coating. Use this unit the same as other units in a dorm room, at an office, or in an RV. It boasts high heat reisstance but is easily stored. Durable body, it is designed to rest upright so that moisture does not drip onto any counter.
Perfect Micro Grill has a long design, ideal for larger sandwiches or steaks. The two panels can hook together to create grill lines all over the food. This design can withstand high heat but is meant for microwave usage.
Add the ingredients onto the Grill wave surface.
Place the upper grill over the food and lock in place the “stay-cool” handles.
Place the Grill Wave into the microwave, press start, and enjoy the food.
Clean up when done by rinsing clean or putting in the dishwasher.
When you cook on a grill you transfer the heat from your gas flame, wood flame, or charcoal embers to your food. Each process produces slightly different tastes because the molecules from said heat source attach themselves to the food.
Additionally, this becomes even more evident when you are using very specific woods such as hickory wood, maple, or oak to prepare your foods. Called the Maillard Reaction, once a temperature exceeds 285 degrees on a normal grill there is a reaction that occurs between amino acids. This action reduces sugars and leaves a golden brown color. What’s more, it leaves a unique flavor behind.
When you use a microwave, it uses a form of radiation which excites molecules, forcing them to produce thermal energy, or heat. Regular grills cook foods from the outside in, while microwave heat cooks from the inside out. As such, microwaves cook quickly.
However, it also means that by the time the outside is done, the inside is dehydrated and tough, especially for meat. So, with the Grill Wave, you get the same grill marks that a grill gives, but you do not get the Maillard reaction, nor the unique flavors associated therein. The food will not taste like it was grilled nor will it have the same texture.
Do not use this for pizza or anything with cheese exposed on top. The top grill pan with which you cover your food will end up sticking to the cheese, probably burning it or melting it to the top. This will ruin your pizza and make it harder to clean the unit.
Cooking is best done when you use it on single meals at a time, not whole meals. The advertisements show things like full steak meals or salmon meals. While preparing one filet with veggies is possible, more than one serving at a time is not.
