Fright Factory sets are kits that kids of almost all ages can use to make creepy critters such as spiders, centipedes, scorpions, and more. These kits can be fun for adults, too. Each kit includes a plastic Creation Maker apparatus, two Ewwgoo gels you can use to make the critters, and three molds that will help you with their design. To use your kit, you won't need any electricity or heat, as each Creation Maker is battery-operated and hardens the goo by exposing it to light.
The cost of Fright Factory is $24.99 plus $8.99 shipping, for a total price of $33.98. Price is from As Seen on TV Commercial page: buyfrightfactory.com
To make your first set of creepy critters, place your chosen mold on the surface of your Creation Maker, which should be sitting on a flat surface. Be sure that the mold is resting face-up. After you've placed the mold, use one or both of your squeeze bottles of Ewwgoo gel in order to fill it up. Make sure you don't overfill the molds, though—you should not be using a whole bottle on one mold.
Once your first mold is filled with gel, turn the small yellow wheel located directly near one corner of your Creation Maker. This will cause light from the inside of the Creation Maker to pass underneath the entire mold and harden the gel within into a solid, plastic-like substance.
After your critters have hardened within your mold, you can simply pull them out with your fingers and begin playing with them as you would other toys.
Each kit's Creation Maker is battery operated, so using your kit won't add to your electricity bill. However, batteries are not included, so you'll need to obtain them ( and any future replacements ) on your own.
In each Fright Factory kit, you'll get two shades of gel to use to make scary creations. You'll get one green gel and one blue, two of the shades that look best when slimy!
You'll also receive three helpful mold stencils with each kit, so even if you're not good at designing creepy critters on your own, you'll be able to make at least three different ones.
Since each kit's Creation Maker will harden your gel by using light, not heat, each apparatus will remain cool to the touch even when lit up. Therefore, you won't need to worry about anyone burning their fingers.
Every piece in each Fright Factory kit is fairly small, so you'll be able to take the kit with you on vacation or to a friend or relative's house if you choose. Even the Creation Maker, the biggest piece you'll find in a kit, will fit in a suitcase or a large backpack.
Kids of all ages can have fun playing with a Fright Factory kit. Older kids may want to make the creation process more challenging for themselves by flipping the molds over to their blank sides and making their own designs. If your kids are very young, they'll probably be better off using the molds, though, and you must be sure to supervise them so they don't ingest any gel.
Any child playing with one of these kits will be able to engage their imagination when making up personalities for, and stories about, their creepy critter creations. When they discover how fun making up stories can be, they may even consider becoming novelists, scriptwriters, or another type of creative professional.
Of course, you can buy pre-made Hallowe'en decorations, but it just might be more fun to make at least a few scary spiders and such by using one of these Fright Factory kits.
While a standard kit comes with just a bottle of green gel and a bottle of blue, you can get other shades such as purple and orange separately, including glow-in-the-dark shades.
Once you've used up all your Ewwgoo Gel to make some critters, there's no easy way to melt the gel down into its original form. Hence, if you want to make more than a few critters, you'll need to obtain new squeeze bottles of gel fairly frequently.
If you aren't careful with your Ewwgoo Gel, it could end up all over everything, such as your table, your clothes, and your skin, and you'd need to spend time cleaning it off.
While the creepy critters made with each Fright Factory kit are supposed to be used for fun, some kids may use the critters to scare other children, especially younger or more timid children. Kids may even scare themselves when they see the fairly realistic-looking creatures they've made!
When using your squirt bottle to squeeze gel into one of your molds, be sure to squeeze it gently. If you squeeze it too hard, big blobs of gel will splurt out, and you may end up wasting some or making your critters look too thick and / or bumpy.
Even after your creepy critters have dried and turned into toys, keep them away from babies and pets, as you should all small playthings. Otherwise, a baby or pet may put one in their mouth and choke or get sick.
