Fresh View Shields are transparent face shields that are meant to serve as an alternative to the commonly used non-medical face mask. It's stated that while wearing one of these shields, you'll be able to protect your eyes, nose, and mouth from potentially harmful particles in your environment, while also showing your whole face. These shields have been deemed suitable for people with heads of a wide variety of sizes, due to the adjustable headband at the back of each one.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Position in Front of Face

Before you attach this type of face shield to your head, you should position it in front of your face so that the transparent plastic is covering your eyes, nose, and mouth. On most adults, it'll extend down to the bottom of the chin or a bit further, but if your head is smaller than average, it may hang down a bit into the neck area. The headband should be located at the top of the device, near your forehead.

  2. Attach Headband

Next, once your shield is in position, you'll need to wrap the attached headband around the back of your head in order to secure the shield to your face. This headband will stretch a bit, so it shouldn't feel uncomfortably tight. Once you've wrapped it around the back of your head, the soft foam piece at the front of the shield should be nestled against your forehead. If it's touching your eyebrows or hairline instead, pull the shield up or down slightly to adjust it.

  3. Wear Almost Anywhere

With your shield covering your face, you'll be able to wear it almost anywhere, unless a certain business demands that you wear a fabric face mask when you go through its doors. This shield is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, even if you'll be exercising, as it's been designed not to restrict breathing—although you should keep it out of chlorinated water.

  4. Remove Shield and Wash

When you're done wearing your shield for the day, grab the headband at the back and gently pull it off. Give it a wash with water and ordinary soap, dry it off with a clean cloth, and store it in a safe, sanitary place until the next time you use it.

  • Extra-Long Face Covering

Fresh View Shields will hang down a little bit lower than most face shields will, which will help discourage you from reaching underneath yours to touch your eyes, nose, or mouth. Touching these parts of your face is a way that the Coronavirus and other germs can be spread, so keeping your hands off of them will help you and those around you stay healthy.

  • Foam Headpiece

Usually, to secure a non-medical fabric face mask to your face, you'll have to loop a fabric strap over each ear. Over time, the straps can rub against the skin of the ears and cause irritation. On the other hand, the front of this face shield's headband is made out of soft foam, so it'll be unlikely to irritate the skin of your forehead as you wear your shield. The back of the headband will never come in contact with your skin unless you're completely bald.

  • Reusable

As long as you're still able to wash your shield, you'll be able to reuse it day after day. If you're careful with it, you might even get several years of use out of the same shield. You must remember to wash it on a daily basis, though, as germs may build up on the transparent face covering and the headpiece over time.

  • Come as Singles or Sets

If you just want one shield for yourself, obtaining a single one of these Fresh View Shields may satisfy your needs. However, they're also available in sets of six or twelve, which may be an attractive option if you're a parent getting them for your household or an employer getting them for your employees.

Positive Points

  • Fits Over Glasses

Fresh View Shields have been made to fit over eyeglasses, including sunglasses of a standard size. They also have an anti-fog design that will stop your glasses from fogging up as you breathe in and out while wearing this type of shield. This may come as a relief to people who are frustrated with fabric face masks driving their breath upwards and onto their glasses in the form of fogging.

  • Ideal for Customer Service

As an in-person customer service representative, regardless of whether you work in a store, a restaurant, or somewhere else, the face-to-face connection you make with every customer is significant. Fabric face masks can get in the way of that personal connection since they cover the mouth and nose (approximately half the face), but Fresh View Shields won't. While you're wearing one of these shields, a customer or client will be able to see your entire smiling face, and you'll be able to see theirs if they wear one, too.

  • Won't Impair Breathing

Although some people find that face masks don't impair their breathing, others struggle with them in that sense, so the latter group may be happy to use one of these shields instead. When it comes to these shields, there's enough space between the transparent plastic and the mouth and nose that they shouldn't impair breathing at all. As a result, anyone will likely be able to wear them for physical activity, even people who suffer from asthma or other respiratory difficulties.

  • Will Fit Many Children

Fresh View Shields will fit the heads of most children, due to their adjustable headpieces. If your child's school or daycare requires that they wear a face covering, or you'd like them to wear one for their own protection, your child may prefer this shield over a fabric mask.

Negative Points

  • Not Ideal for Bald People

People who are bald may not find this sort of face shield as comfortable as others do, because the headband may rub against the skin on the back of their head. If you're bald, you may have to add extra padding to the strap of your shield's headband to prevent any irritation from occurring.

  • Shields Aren't Always Accepted

As alluded to above, some businesses or public spaces insist that people wear non-medical fabric face masks to come in, and will actually turn away people who are wearing face shields instead. If you want to go into one of these businesses, and you're not medically exempt from wearing a face mask, you may need to add one underneath your shield to avoid being asked to leave.

Critical Advice

If your shield looks like it's angled severely forward when you first put it on, you may not be wearing it in an ideal manner. To get rid of this angle, you should try pulling the headpiece down just a little bit further on your forehead. That way, your face will be covered more effectively and you'll be providing yourself and others with more protection than you would be otherwise.
