Flare Police is a small device that's been created to help users signal distress to others in their immediate environment while driving a car, a boat, an RV, or any other type of vehicle. Instead of giving off a traditional flame that must be lit with a match, as a traditional flare would, each compact device contains 15 LED lights that'll flash in a shade of brilliant orange. It's specified that this device's light can be seen up to a mile away and can even give off an SOS signal in the most dangerous situations.

How to Use (Step by Step)

  1. Turn on Device

If you're experiencing an issue with your vehicle, yourself, or any of your passengers while you're traveling along a road or waterway, you'll be able to pull out and use this device to indicate distress. Use the round button on one side to turn it on, and then use it to cycle between the nine different lighting options, including a traditional flashlight option and an SOS signal. The option you choose will likely depend on how much trouble you're in, how many other vehicles are around, and the current brightness level of your environment.

  2. Place or Hang

Once you've selected a lighting pattern that you want your device to give off, place the device somewhere very close to your vehicle. It has a magnet on the back, so you could use that to attach it to your vehicle's roof or any other area of its exterior. Alternatively, you might want to use the attached hook to hang it from one of your doors or use the hook as a stand so you can set the device securely upon the ground.

  3. Take Care of Problem

Next, with your Flare Police flashing to alert others around you, take care of the problem with your vehicle (such as a damaged tire) or an individual within it (such as a minor injury). Your flashing device should let other drivers on your roadway or waterway know that they should either stop and help you or at least avoid getting too close to the scene. If you end up needing further assistance from emergency services, this device will also help them see you clearly as they look for you on the side of the road or elsewhere.

  4. Turn Device Off

When you're finished with your Flare Police tool, due to fixing your problem by yourself or getting a visit from emergency services, use the round button on one side to turn it off. With the device off, store it in a safe place in your vehicle where it can stay cool and dry until you need to use it again.

Features

  • Compact Size

This bright orange device is only about the size of a hockey puck, which means that most users will be able to hold it in the palm of one hand. Since it's so small in comparison to traditional flares, which tend to be long and slim, it won't take up a lot of space inside your vehicle or out. You may even be able to carry yours around in a small handbag or a large pocket, if necessary.

  • 360-Degree Visibility

Each Flare Police device is circular, and after it's been illuminated, its light will shine powerfully in a full circle, so it can be seen up to a mile away. This will occur not only in mild weather conditions, but also during periods of rain, fog, and snow. As a result, if you pull over on a highway in bad weather and turn your device on, other drivers will still be able to quickly pick up on the fact that you're there.

  • Long-Lasting

These devices are made of shatterproof material and can withstand being driven on by a vehicle's tire, so each one you obtain will likely last you for years. Furthermore, each one contains LED bulbs, which will burn for up to 100,000 hours before they need to be replaced. Depending on how often you use a device like this, and how careful you are in regard to storing it, one of them may last you for an entire lifetime.

  • Flashlight Included

Your Flare Police tool will come equipped with a standard flashlight setting, which you may find useful if you're not in great distress but just need to see something more clearly in the dark. This will eliminate the need for bringing along another flashlight that may be awkward and bulky and take up space that you could use for other things in your vehicle. Unlike the other light settings that produce orange light, the standard flashlight setting will produce bright white light.

Positive Points

  • Won't Burn Hands

While there's a chance that using a traditional flare that contains a real, match-produced flame could result in your hands being burned, your Flare Police won't burn your hands. It's been designed to stay cool to the touch, no matter how long you use it or how much light it gives off. Aside from making it safer for adults to use, this also makes it safer for children with small, potentially slippery fingers to hang onto.

  • Allows User to Remain in Car

If you're in a car and you think it's unsafe to get out, there's a quick way for you to use this device's flare without doing so. Once you've got your hands on the device, just stick it out one window of your car and place it on the car's roof, where it'll stay in place because of its magnetic backing. Whenever it's safe, you'll be able to get out and grab the device, or else you can reach up and retrieve it through the same window you originally put it through.

  • Useful for Bikers

The Flare Police isn't only useful for people who are operating motorized vehicles. It can actually come in handy if you're a biker who needs to stop on the side of the road or a trail for any reason. After you stop, as you make a minor repair to your bike, bandage a cut or do whatever you need to do, the device's light will allow others to clearly see you. That way, you won't end up being hit by a car or another cyclist. The orange light may also scare away any animals that might otherwise approach you.

Critical Advice

The Flare Police tool is to be used only as a flashlight and a signal light in dangerous situations—it should not be used as a toy or a form of entertainment. If you were to use it to send off signals when nothing's wrong, you could annoy other drivers or boaters and even face the wrath of the police. Therefore, you must avoid making it flash when it's not necessary, and teach any children under your care to do the same, as only the standard flashlight function is suitable for casual use.
